Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly is a degenerative disease health problem that tends to worsen over time and can increase the risk of various cardiovascular diseases. Autogenic relaxation, which involves deep breathing and self-suggestion to calm the body, is expected to help lower blood pressure. This study aims to explore the effects of autogenic relaxation techniques in lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. The research method used was pre-experimental with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study were all active elderly at Posyandu for the elderly of Bintang Village in the working area of UPT Puskesmas Batang Beruh who experienced hypertension 34 samples with purposive sampling technique to collect data with measuring instruments using blood pressure meters according to SOP and observation sheets. The average decrease in blood pressure after intervention was 137.56 mmHg with an average difference in systole reduction of 15.41 mmHg, diastole blood pressure after intervention was 83.41 mmHg with an average difference in diastolic reduction of 9.26 mmHg. Statistical tests using Paired Sample t-test resulted in a p value <0.01, which indicates significance at the 95% level of significance (α = 0.05). Autogenic relaxation is effective in reducing blood pressure in the elderly who experience hypertension.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Education for early childhood is an effort to provide and provide guidance to help the physical and spiritual growth and development of children from birth to 6 years of age so that they are ready to enter the next stage of education. The quality of a child's future development is largely determined by the stimulation they receive from an early age. Providing educational stimulation is very important, because 80% of brain growth develops at an early age. Brain exercises are used as a method to improve cognitive abilities or memory and concentration in children. This research aims to determine the effect of brain exercises in improving cognitive function and preparedness to deal with concentration disorders in students at Pembina Kindergarten, Dairi Regency. The study design in this research is quasi experimental with one group pre test and post test design. Determining the sample for this study used the G-Power application version 3.1.9.7 with T-test, one tail, effect size 0.85, alpha error 0.05, and power 0.80, so a minimum of 16 plus a possibility of error of 10% are needed, so the respondents needed in this study totaling 18 respondents. Brain exercise is carried out 3 (three) times a week for a week and evaluation is carried out on the seventh day. The results of this study used bivariate analysis, namely the Wilcoxon statistical test to identify cognitive function and preparedness for facing concentration problems before and after brain exercise. The results of this study show that there are differences in cognitive function and preparedness for concentration disorders between before and after brain exercise with a P value of 0.002 and a P value of 0.001. This shows that there is a statistically significant difference in cognitive function and preparedness for dealing with concentration problems before and after being given the intervention with a P value <0.05. Conclusion: Brain exercise training has an effect on cognitive function and preparedness for facing concentration problems in children 4-5 years old in Kindergarten Pembina, Dairi Regency.

Abstract

A premature baby is a baby born before 37 weeks of gestation. Generally, premature babies in Indonesia weigh less than expected and are at high risk of various health complications, including growth and developmental disorders, one of which is slow weight gain. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of touch therapy on weight gain in premature babies at Sidikalang Regional General Hospital. The method was a correlational study with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The population was 16 premature babies born in the Perinatology Ward of Sidikalang Regional General Hospital. Purposive sampling was used for sampling. The research instruments were the tools used for data collection. Data collection used standard operating procedures (SOP) for infant massage, infant massage equipment, and baby weight scales, as well as checklists. Statistical analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed an effect of infant massage therapy on weight gain in premature babies, with the Wilcoxon test showing a Z value of -3.535 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.00). Conclusion: There is an effect of infant massage therapy on weight gain in premature babies.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Implementasi Latihan Relaksasi Autogenik Lansia Dengan Hipertensi Menurunkan Tekanan Darah   ABSTRACT Hypertension is one of the common health problems experienced by the elderly, which can increase the risk of serious complications if not properly managed. One effective non-pharmacological approach is through autogenic relaxation techniques, which can help lower blood pressure by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and reducing stress. This community service aims to implement autogenic relaxation exercises for elderly people with hypertension at Posyandu Desa Bintang, in order to lower their blood pressure. This activity involved 32 elderly people who were at risk or already suffering from hypertension. The implementation process began with providing education about hypertension and the importance of autogenic relaxation for heart health, followed by a demonstration of autogenic relaxation techniques. Evaluation was carried out through measuring knowledge and measuring blood pressure before and after the exercise. The results of the service showed that all participants were enthusiastic and active so that an increase in good knowledge was obtained from 6.06% to 78.78, then the results of systole blood pressure measurements averaged 9.34 mmHg and diastole averaged a decrease of 7.18 mmHg. A significant decrease in blood pressure in most participants after doing autogenic relaxation exercises regularly. This activity is proven to be effective in providing benefits for the elderly, both in the management of hypertension. Keywords: Implementation of Autogenic Relaxation Exercise for Elderly with Hypertension Lower Blood Pressure
