Abstract

A preliminary study at a school in Tasikmalaya revealed that conventional, monotonous learning methods led to low student activity and poor learning outcomes in sound wave material. To address this, researchers explored the PAIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning) model using the Jeopardy game. This quasi-experimental study employed a Matching Only Posttest-Only Control Group Design with purposive sampling in two classes: one experimental and one control. Data were collected using a non-test instrument (observation sheet) and a test instrument (validated descriptive test with 8 questions). Hypothesis testing using a t-test at  significance level showed  ( ), indicating  was rejected and  accepted. This confirms that the PAIKEM model integrated with the Jeopardy game positively affects students’ cognitive learning outcomes on sound waves. The findings suggest that this model can help teachers enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

Persoalan penentuan kebijakan impor beras dari negara lain untuk menjaga ketahanan pangan di Indonesia merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang masih dihadapi oleh sektor pertanian dan industri pangan di Indonesia. Ada sejumlah permasalahan dan hambatan yang harus diatasi untuk melaksanakan kebijakan pemerintah Indonesia mengenai impor beras. Menentukan efektivitas pengambilan keputusan pemerintah dalam impor beras adalah tujuan utama penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan strategi penelitian kualitatif dengan terlebih dahulu menganalisis data yang sudah ada melalui tinjauan literatur, dan kemudian menerapkan teori yang sesuai pada data tersebut. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya, penelitian ini akan mengkaji kebijakan impor beras di Indonesia. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah Indonesia terus-menerus memutuskan untuk mengimpor beras dalam jumlah yang bervariasi, yang berdampak pada kondisi sosial dan ekonomi negara tersebut

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Duolingo on improving vocabulary mastery among Generation Z students in an English course program. This study employed an experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test to investigate the effectiveness of using the Duolingo application in enhancing vocabulary learning. Thirty-nine elementary school students aged 7–12 participated in the program, where Duolingo was integrated into classroom activities for five months. Data were collected through vocabulary tests, observations, and interviews. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, with the mean score increasing from 54.10 in the pre-test to 85.77 in the post-test. Statistical analysis using a paired t-test confirmed a highly significant difference (t = 10.64, p < 0.001), indicating that the Duolingo application effectively enhanced vocabulary acquisition. In addition, qualitative findings showed that students responded positively to using Duolingo, reporting increased motivation and engagement during learning. These findings suggest that mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) tools such as Duolingo can be effective instructional media for young learners, particularly in non-formal educational settings. The study contributes to technology-based pedagogy by highlighting the potential of gamified applications to foster vocabulary mastery and learner motivation.

Abstract

Laundry businesses provide significant benefits to the surrounding community's economy and can reduce unemployment and improve the community's standard of living. Based on monitoring data from the Environmental Agency (2018), there are 42 laundries in Pontianak City. One laundry business in Pontianak City without wastewater treatment is Kalesco Laundry. Wastewater from laundry activities is discharged directly into waterways without prior treatment. Laundry liquid waste has a high organic content, which means it can pollute the environment. The purpose of this planning is to design and calculate the budget for building a portable wastewater treatment system at the Kalesco laundry. Sampling was carried out using the grab sample method at 14.00 WIB, and the samples were then tested in the laboratory. The planned waste discharge is 4.15 m3 / day. Based on laboratory test results, the characteristics of the Kalesco laundry liquid waste were: TSS 205 mg/l, COD 1397 mg/l, BOD 608 mg/l, MBAS 3.81 mg/l, phosphate 0.160 mg/l, and pH 8.21. The result of this planning is the selected unit for portable wastewater treatment plant consisting of an equalization tank (0.2x0.1x1.5m), aerobic biofilter tank (1.4mx1.0mx1.5m), sedimentation tank (0.54mx0.27mx2m), and final storage tank (0.4mx0.2mx1.5m) with a total land area required of 2.50 m2 and a total cost of Rp. 4,999,55.

Abstract

Population administration services are an essential part of public services in fulfilling citizens’ basic rights. As an effort to modernize digital-based services, the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration introduced the Digital Population Identity (IKD) service. However, the implementation of IKD at the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Mojokerto City still faces various technical and service-related challenges. This study aims to describe the quality of IKD services using seven digital service quality indicators proposed by (Aljukhadar et al., 2022). This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings indicate that the quality of IKD services has not yet been fully optimized, particularly in terms of interactivity, information and assistance quality, ease of use, system stability, public understanding of data privacy and security, and application interface design. Therefore, strengthening the application system, improving digital information and assistance, and developing a more user-friendly application design are recommended to enhance the quality of IKD services in the future.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of tourist motivation on psychological well-being at Curug Gorobog, a natural tourist destination located in Citengah Village, South Sumedang, Sumedang Regency. Employing a quantitative approach with a survey-based methodology, the research utilized primary data as the principal source of information. Respondents were selected through simple random sampling, specifically targeting individuals who had previously visited Curug Gorobog. The final sample comprised 396 participants. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The findings indicate that tourist motivation exerts a positive and significant influence on the psychological well-being of visitors at Curug Gorobog. This relationship is substantiated by a t-statistic of 22.802 with a significance level of p < 0.05. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.569 suggests that tourist motivation accounts for 56.9% of the variance in psychological well-being, while the remaining 43.1% is attributable to other factors beyond the scope of this study.
