Abstract

The understanding of void in solid-void theory cannot be ignored since urban open space is, in fact, the connector between existing buildings. Here also social interaction takes place between people living around that urban open space. In historic areas urban open space is very important, not only as a place to socialize but also due to its ecological and spiritual meaning. The area of Kampung Kapitan is one of the historic areas in Palembang. However, developments in this area have ignored the aspect of conservation . By using space syntax analysis which can analyze changes in spatial configuration in a qualitative way, this paper proves that conservation of a heritage area not just focuses on its buildings, but also on the surrounding area, whih includes open space. This is signified so the  sustainability of historic areas can be guarded in accordance with Law no. 11/2010.

Abstract

The concept of sustainable emerged around 1970 which was developed to address the critical issue of energy. It is less recognized that this concept need to be developed and industrialized by the countries due to their dependence on fossil fuels in that time. Then, architecture develop it into a green building concept. The latest development of green architecture becomes imperative in the design architecture for the construction of new buildings. That understanding built in global perspective, how about in local perspective – like in Javanese culture – is it the same context or perspective? Furthermore, it is going to be the focus of this paper. This paper tries to pick sustainable background in the context of Javanese culture as the focus. In Javanese culture, philosophy background can be constructed by performing puppet plays reinterpretation. Lakon Babad Alas Wanamarta can be placed as the cornerstone of sustainable communities’ the philosophy of Java. Theoretical level and indicators for green architecture in the Java community may appoint Primbon.Research method use Hegel dialogue with architecture critic approach. This working paper is still at the level of exploratory studies to answer unresolved and couldn’t replace sustainable and architectural ideas that have been grown in agrarian people today. But it needs to be examined further as sustainable or green architecture can be developed further from an agrarian society civilized.

Abstract

The complex potential of villages provides a significant chance for local development. Commonly, the potential is developed as a single sector in each village through a separate program of relevant institutions. Lahat Regency is one of the regencies in South Sumatera Province, which has enormous local potential within the district, both material (natural resources, traditional houses, foods, etc.) and immaterial heritage (history, culture, traditions, etc.). These components of cultural heritage wealth will contribute to regional development and Indonesian identity. Among these districts, the Government of Lahat Regency focuses on Pulau Pinang District, particularly Tanjung Sirih and Lubuk Sepang Villages, as integrated tourism villages. This research aims to establish a development planning model by establishing integrated tourism planning, The integration not only unites two villages, Tanjung Sirih Village and Lubuk Sepang Village, in one location perspective related to their close geographical location, but also programs in local tourism themes based on the dominant potential, Tanjung Sirih with its foodscape and Lubuk Sepang with its landscape. Foodscape is an integration between food, people and environment, while landscape architecture is the human and environmental components. The research used qualitative research methods with local potential analysis and development area modeling; several variations of tools were used, such as literature work, surveys, and discussions. The reasearch output is an input for the tourism village integration in Lahat Regency as a development planning model and the foundation of potential tourism village development programs in Indonesia.
