Abstract

This study aims to examine the socio-economic transformation of urban communities in Kota Yogyakarta driven by tourism development, focusing on the effects of tourism activity intensity, economic involvement, and infrastructure support. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey of 124 respondents consisting of MSME actors, tourism workers, and local residents. Data were collected through validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression, preceded by classical assumption tests. Hypotheses were tested using t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that tourism activity intensity (β = 0.390; t = 7.641; Sig. 0.000), economic involvement (β = 0.361; t = 7.748; Sig. 0.000), and infrastructure support (β = 0.295; t = 5.869; Sig. 0.000) have positive and significant effects on socio-economic transformation. Simultaneously, the variables significantly influence the dependent variable (F = 295.170; Sig. 0.000). The model demonstrates strong explanatory power (R² = 0.881), indicating that 88.1% of socio-economic transformation is explained by the three variables. The study is limited to one urban area and selected variables. The findings highlight the importance of inclusive and sustainable tourism policies. This research provides empirical quantitative evidence of tourism-driven urban socio-economic transformation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tourism development plays a strategic role in supporting regional economic growth by increasing local revenue, creating employment opportunities, and improving community welfare. In the digital era, tourists increasingly rely on online information and destination perceptions when making travel decisions. This study aims to analyze the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (EWOM), destination image, and tourist attraction on tourists’ visiting decisions at tourism destinations in Kulon Progo Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to tourists. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to examine the effect of each independent variable on visiting decisions. The results indicate that EWOM, destination image, and tourist attraction have a positive and significant effect on tourists’ visiting decisions, both partially and simultaneously. Destination image is identified as the most dominant variable influencing visiting decisions, followed by EWOM and tourist attraction. Furthermore, the simultaneous test shows that the three variables significantly influence visiting decisions with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.908, indicating that 90.8% of the variation in visiting decisions can be explained by the proposed model. These findings highlight the importance of digital communication, positive destination perception, and attractive tourism resources in influencing tourists’ travel decisions.

Abstract

This study examines how digital literacy and e-commerce utilization influence production decisions among horticultural farmers in Kulon Progo Regency. It aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of both variables on farmers’ production decisions. The study employed a quantitative approach using survey data collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with multiple linear regression. The results show that digital literacy and e-commerce utilization have positive and significant effects, both individually and simultaneously, on production decisions. These findings imply that strengthening farmers’ digital capacity and market access may support more effective and adaptive agricultural decision-making.
