Abstract

Medicines can be considered the most widely used medical expenditures in hospitals. To reduce the medicines expenses in the hospital, the term of inventory control is applied. Medicines must be controlled by considering the expiry dates and the probabilistic demand from the customers. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an inventory model that can be suitable to control medicines by minimizing the expired medicines, total inventory costs, and dealing with unpredictable demand. The purpose of this research is to develop an inventory model for determining optimum replenishment time and order quantities and space requirements for multi-item medicines with consideration of expiry dates of the medicines and all medicines are being purchased in a single purchase order so that the total inventory costs in hospitals can be minimized. The result is that the proposed inventory model results in optimum space requirements and the lowest inventory costs. Therefore, hospitals must order medicines based on the optimum order quantity.

Abstract

When a product reaches its maturity in its life cycle, some innovations have to be put in that product in order to lengthen its life cycle. Otherwise, that product will be perceived as obsolete. It might affect the demand of that product i.e. the demand become decreasing. Based on the observation that we conducted over two smart phone brands, the phenomena that the demand has declining pattern really happened in the real situation. In addition, the observation shows that the product life cycle is getting shorter. This implies that the manufacturer has to deal with decreasing demand more often. A case study is presented in this paper, in which manufacturer experienced final product with decreasing demand pattern. Some lot sizing techniques, such as Lot for Lot, Silver Meal 1, Silver Meal 2, Least Unit Cost, Part Period Balancing, and Incremental, are tested to solve the inventory policy for both final product (parent) and its components (child). It is concluded that a company should not consider only one component or one level whenever deciding the inventory policy, i.e. production lot size. It is shown by the case study that the best lot sizing technique for a particular parent of product whenever the company only consider the parent is different with the best lot sizing technique whenever the company consider the parent and its child. For the case presented, it is shown that the smallest total cost of parent and child is most likely occurred whenever Silver Meal 2 lot sizing technique is applied in the parent with decreasing demand pattern.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to mapping and review what has been done on the topic of research on predictive maintenance in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) based industries. In the research area of predictive maintenance, various methods for predicting damage or time to failure of a machine have been proposed and applied in various industries. This paper systematically categorizes predictive maintenance in SCADA-based industries research based on industry classifications according to ISIC (International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities). Furthermore, the research scope is explored its connection to the topics of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). It is found that 81.5% of the research was conducted on the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply industries, 11.1% of research was conducted on the mining and quarrying industry, and 7.4% of the research conducted in the manufacturing industry. It is also found that 85.2% of studies used AI and ML, 18.5% of the studies used IoT, and 18.5% of research used AI/ML and IoT technology together.

Abstract

The seemingly unlimited world makes competition increasingly fierce in the electronics industry. This phenomena makes the industry always look for ways to maximize the competitive advantage of the company. One of them is in marketing strategy. The use of influencer marketing is on the rise and will be able to increase the potential success of a product and brand on the market. But that does not mean the selection and use of influencer marketing can be done easily. Increasing of alternatives and expensive prices are the main problems during the selection process of influencer marketing that faced by industry. This study tries to find what attributes are the main focus for potential consumers in making product purchase decisions when watching video reviews on the Youtube platform. Data from 172 respondents were collected and analyzed in this research. It was found that the detail of product exposition is the most important attribute in making a purchase decision for a product and if execute well will ultimately increase customer purchase intentions of potential consumers who are using video reviews on the YouTube platform.

Abstract

Saat ini konsumen sering memberikan komentar dan review terhadap produk yang digunakannya melalui platform media sosial dan platform e-commerce. Perusahaan mempunyai peluang untuk memanfaatkan komentar dan review tersebut untuk mengetahui keinginan dan kebutuhan konsumen atas produk yang dihasilkannya. Keinginan dan kebutuhan konsumen tersebut merupakan masukan berarti dalam proses perancangan produk. Salah satu teknik yang akhir-akhir ini banyak dipakai untuk menilai komentar dan review konsumen adalah analisis sentimen. Artikel ini disusun dengan tujuan untuk mencermati sejauh mana analisis sentimen digunakan untuk mendukung proses perancangan produk melalui tinjauan pustaka dari penelitian dalam bidang ini. Pustaka dicari dengan menggunakan basis data Web of Science Core Collection dengan menggunakan kata kunci “product design” dan “sentiment analysis”. Setelah dilakukan pengkajian diperoleh lima puluh artikel yang relevan dengan kedua kata kunci tersebut. Dari artikel terpilih tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa analisis sentimen memang telah banyak digunakan dalam mendukung proses perancangan produk, baik untuk produk baru maupun untuk proses perbaikan desain berbagai jenis produk termasuk jasa. Dalam penerapannya, analisis sentimen diintegrasikan dengan berbagai teknik perancangan produk seperti quality function deployment (QFD), metode Kano, dan metode Kansei. Terdapat dua kategori teknik untuk menentukan sentimen negatif atau positif yaitu teknik berdasarkan lexicon dan teknik machine learning. Analisis sentimen dalam proses perancangan produk juga diintegrasikan dengan konsep ontology dan fuzzy. Arah penelitian di masa datang adalah memperluas aplikasi ke jenis produk lain dan pengembangan teknik dengan integrasi berbagai teknik perancangan produk dan berbagai konsep dan teknik terkini dengan tujuan mendapatkan teknik yang sesuai dan akurat dalam mendapatkan keinginan konsumen.

Abstract

Peningkatan produktivitas tenaga kerja merupakan salah satu masalah utama yang dihadapi banyak pelaku bisnis. Dalam upaya mengatasi masalah ini, penelitian sebelumnya telah memberikan berbagai pemahaman dan solusi terkait masalah tersebut. Berbeda dengan penelitian sebelumnya, artikel ini mengusulkan suatu framework metodologi untuk melakukan analisis produktivitas tenaga kerja dengan menggunakan teknik machine learning melalui dua macam keperluan yaitu regresi dan klasifikasi dengan tujuan agar hasil yang diperoleh lebih komprehensif dan dapat dengan mudah diinterpretasikan sebagai saran manajemen dengan tetap mencapai akurasi prediksi yang relatif baik. Sebagai ilustrasi penggunaan dari framework yang diusulkan tersebut, algoritma Regression Tree dipilih untuk keperluan regresi dan algoritma Classification C50 dipilih untuk keperluan klasifikasi, bahasa pemrograman R dalam RStudio digunakan sebagai alat untuk menjalankan framework, dan diaplikasikan dengan suatu data sekunder produktivitas tenaga kerja.

Abstract

Traditional business models consider physical assets such as shops, factories, and offices important in generating the company's revenue. This situation also occurs when a company tries to expand its market. For market expansion, using the traditional business model, the company tends to consider opening several sales office branches to support sales. It has consequences for generating additional costs for the company. With the advanced development of information technology, such as the Internet, customers can be reached through e-market platforms. Therefore, the research presented in this paper proposes a platform business model that can support market expansion without adding additional physical assets to the company. This research hypothesizes that developing websites using local language can help the company gain visitors from the area where it is trying to expand its market. Therefore, in the proposed platform business model supported by a website, it is recommended that the website be developed using the local language to expand the market without adding physical assets such as a sales office. The proposed platform business model is then implemented at PT. D&W International, which has been exporting products overseas since 2005. Using the proposed platform business model, the company develops the websites in three different languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish. The result shows that the platform business model of using a website supported by local language effectively supports the company's business expansion.
