Abstract

Reading is one of the important aspects in learning. Another important aspect in learning is learning media. The use of learning media in the teaching and learning process may generate desires, interests, motivation, and stimulate learning activities for students. However, most teachers today teach in a conventional learning with no use of learning media.Employing experiment method, this study is conducted to determine whether there is a difference in the academic achievement between students taught using the story books media compared to students taught without using the story books media. The subject of the study is the 4th grade students of MI Al-Istiqomah Banjarmasin. The data is drawn from the score of pre-test which is done before the process of learning and the score of final test.The result of the study shows that there is a significant difference between the academic achievements of students who are taught using the story books media compared to the students taught with no use of any media in their reading comprehension subject. This is indicated by the mean score of the final test—the study result in the experimental class is better than that of the controlled class. Thus, it can be concluded that learning with using the media of story books can improve the students’ study result. In addition, the learning media can be an alternative for the teachers in the process of teaching and learning.

Abstract

Multicultural approach in Indonesian language has become an absolute necessity over the last years. This research highlights the role of multicultural culture as a means to improve writing achievement of Indonesian Language among elementary school students. This study aims at determining the effectiveness of the multicultural approach in the writing achievement of Indonesian language among fifth grade students of islamic elementary school who are grouped based on their learning motivation. This study can be catagorized as an experimental study with 2x2 factorial design. The independent variable consists of two categories, multicultural and conventional approaches. The population was  60 fifth grade students of at two private islamic schools. The data was collected using learning achievement tests and learning motivation questionnaires, and analyzed using two-way ANOVA and sheffe test. The results showed that (1) there were a gap in learning achievement between students in the experimental group and control group students; (2) there were differences in learning achievement between students with high motivation between both groups; (3) there were differences in learning achievement between low motivated students between both groups; (4) the multicultural approaches proved to be more effective than the conventional one; and (5) there was no interaction between the approaches and the learning motivation.

Abstract

Effect of the whole language  approach on the learning achievement in indonesian language  reading comprehension of year  IV Students of Elementary Schools. This study aims to investigate effects of  whole language approach on learning achievement in indonesian language reading comprehension of groups of students based on their learning motivation. This study was an experimental study employing a 2x2 factorial design. The independent variabel had two levels, i.e.  the Whole language approach and the konvensional approach. The population comprised all 46 Year IV students of SDN Madinaturramlah. The instruments consisted of an achievement test and a learning motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed by a amean of two way ANOVA and the Scheffee test. The results show that (1) the is no difference in learning achievement between the students in the experimental group and those in the control group, (2) there is a difference in learning achievement between students with hight motivation in the experimental group and those in the control group, (3) there is no interaction between approaches and learning motivation. Abstract

Kurikulum merupakan ruhnya di dunia Pendidikan, mengembangkan kurikulum merupakan sebuah keharusan untuk semua Lembaga Pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan kurikulum prototipe terhadap sekolah dalam mengembangkan Soft Skill siswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data dari Miles dan Huberman. Hasil temuan yang didapatkan peneliti yaitu kurikulum prototipe ini dianggap mampu memulihkan pembelajaran diakibatkan pandemi covid-19 dengan memberikan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan tidak tergesa-gesa. Sehingga dengan adanya kurikulum prototipe ini mampu memberikan fasilitas untuk siswa agar bisa mempelajari sesuatu sesuai dengan kemampuan dan bakat siswa.

Abstract

The inclusive education is an innovation where there are no boundaries for everyone in getting education. But there were some problem, students with special needs still left behind by the others. In this case teacher also having a difficult position, one side they want to achieve the goals but on the other side, they have to teach and learn new thing at the same time to guide student with special needs on their learning process. This research held by using descriptive qualitative approach through interview, observation, documentation and systematic literature review, on this topic through google search engine and field observation we collected data through semi-structured interviews and descriptive observations to teachers and selected students at SDIT Al Firdaus. The results highlight that there are some ways on learning groups that can be applied on inclusive class through multiple strategies that will fit each student’s needs by making learning groups.

Abstract

Sasirangan fabric is a typical icon of South Kalimantan which is widely known for it’s motifs and uniqueness. Community development and empowerment through Sasirangan is to improve community welfare and empowerment through the use of traditional Sasirangan art. Hukai Village is also one of the places where we can find skilled Sasirangan craftsmen and learn about their dyeing techniques. The method that we used in this project is descriptive qualitative and the data includes the technique and process of dyeing Sasirangan fabric. Data was taken through observation and interviews. This collaboration adds insight and knowledge to participants, especially on how to dye Sasirangan fabric. This collaboration also helps in marketing the Sasirangan fabric models in Hukai Village to the outside community. This also shows the potential of Sasirangan as a means of promoting local culture, developing skills and empowering communities.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low reading literacy ability of high grade students in Banjarmasin. The low reading ability is thought to have an effect on student achievement. This is indicated by the results of student learning achievement which is still low. The aims of the study were; 1) to determine the reading literacy ability; 2) to determine the level of learning achievement; and 3) to determine the effect of reading literacy ability on the learning achievement of high-class students in Banjarmasin. The research design used survey quantitative research with research samples of high-class students in Banjarmasin. Data analysis using simple linear regression test. The results showed that; 1) students' reading literacy ability was quite adequate at 67.53%; 2) student learning achievement was classified as very good at 81%; and 3) there was a significant effect of 5.4% between reading literacy ability and achievement student learning.
