Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine student motivation in choosing a PGSD study program. Does it match their aspirations? This research is a descriptive qualitative research by collecting data and information through interviews, reduced the data and then presented before being concluded. This research is deliberately limited to only knowing the motivation in choosing the PGSD study program whose has big impact, such as the effect on enthusiasm for learning and learning outcomes. From the data obtained (18 respondents) it can be concluded that very few who choose the PGSD study program because of their aspires to become a teacher (only 2). Most of them (16 responden) choose the PGSD study program because of 'forced' with many reasons. This is very sad. However, there is still hope because in the process learning, some them want to become teachers (9 respondents). This means that there is a change in their motivation to become a teacher or there is a change of their paradigm about education.

Abstract

Guru yang ingin meningkatkan mutu pendidikan haruslah kreatif dalam membuat dan menggunakan media pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran tidak hanya disediakan untuk mata pelajaran yang sifatnya sosial tapi juga bersifat science maupun eksakta. Media pembelajaran sangat diperlukan guna menyalurkan pesan dan dapat merangsang pikiran, perasaan, perhatian, dan kemauan siswa sehingga dapat mendorong terjadinya proses belajar pada diri siswa sehingga pembelajaran jadi lebih bermakna. Di samping itu, siswa menjadi lebih mengerti materi yang diberikan pada saat proses belajar mengajar berlangsung. Mengeksplor IT untuk media pembelajaran adalah salah satu alternatifnya. Maka perlu pelatihan membuat media pembelajaran berbasis IT bagi guru yang belum terbiasa memakai IT. Target dan luaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah menghasilkan media pembelajaran berbasis IT bagi guru SD Xaverius 2 Batuputih. Pelatihan dasar yang diberikan oleh tim Universitas Katolik Musi Charitas dijadikan sebagai tahap awal untuk merangsang ketertarikan dan kerjasama antara guru agar lebih kreatif dalam membuat media pembelajaran sederhana sekaligus memperluas pengetahuan guru. Ada beberapa metode yang akan digunakan yaitu metode ceramah, metode tanya jawab, metode eksperimen, metode demonstrasi. Hasil dari pelatihan seluruh peserta memiliki bekal yang cukup dalam membuat media pembelajaran dan menghasilkan produk sendiri sesuai dengan kebutuhan

Abstract

Basically, it has been recognized by many studies that physical activity has an impact on increasing students' cognitive abilities. Therefore, this research aims to find out more about how the implementation of physical activity in elementary schools affects the brain work and achievement of elementary school students. The type of research in this research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. This research was carried out at SD Xaverius 9 Palembang. The qualitative design was implemented and carried out on school principals and class 1 teachers and class 4 teachers. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used uses an interactive model with the elements of reducing data, presenting data, and drawing data conclusions. The research results revealed that physical movement plays a very important role in students' cognitive abilities. There are several forms of physical activity that occur at school, such as in physical education subjects, gymnastics carried out in class before starting learning, student play activities during breaks, and some students go to school on foot. The conclusion of this research is that students' physical activity at school can help students improve their brain performance abilities and also encourage improvements in cognitive aspects which will influence student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Inclusive education is education where all children, including those with special needs, receive the same educational opportunities as other students. The aim of this research is to determine the benefits of inclusive education and the challenges experienced by Catholic-based private elementary schools. The research method used is a qualitative-description method. Data collection methods are observation, interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with three principals and six teachers from private Catholic elementary schools that implement inclusive education. The data analysis technique uses a coding system by grouping similar points so that the main benefits and challenges are found. From the research results, it was found that there are many benefits or positive values in inclusive education, such as students understanding and respecting differences, promoting schools, building cooperation with people with different abilities, and preparing children to enter the real world. Meanwhile, the challenges are limited human resources, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, as well as stereotypical views towards disabilities. In conclusion, inclusive education has a lot of value and benefits for education, but there are still many challenges that private elementary schools must face. Therefore, inclusive education should continue to be implemented but must be well prepared and collaborate with all parties involved to achieve the goals.
