Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the multifaceted challenges faced by music core groups in Cebu Province, analyzing social, economic, and technological barriers. Its primary goal was to propose an innovative management framework for ensuring sustainable growth in the music industry. Utilizing qualitative multiple-case study, this study delved into the complex landscape shaped by challenges for music creators, artists, and organizations. It involved a comprehensive management framework encompassing planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The study identified themes including navigating professional dynamics, social equity and empowerment dynamics, obstacles in creative pursuits, financial sustainability, economic instability, challenges in technology utilization, and industry adaptation. Various coping mechanisms such as faith, self-care, and community involvement were observed. While the study provided valuable insights, the limited representation of diverse industry positions highlights the need for further research to fully grasp the complexities and challenges of the music industry. The Amplify Cebu Music Management Framework, incorporating TechHarmony Integration, aimed to seamlessly integrate technology into the industry. Tailored interventions addressed leadership development, promotion strategies, artist well-being, creative hubs, education, and government support. The study's insights transcend the local context, offering globally applicable frameworks for fostering inclusive and effective industry development, thereby enhancing social equity and empowerment dynamics. This research presents a comprehensive roadmap for overcoming barriers and enhancing resilience, contributing to a vibrant and sustainable music industry in Cebu while aligning local scenes with global audiences.

Abstract

Amidst the pandemic, the Teknoy-Inquiry Assistant (TINA) system was created to accommodate student institution–related questions while following the restrictions implemented by the government. Due to the rushed design, users experience untimely response problems when using the service. The research aims to investigate and propose improvements to the TINA system for the sustainability of the service. The researchers focused on the turn-around time for the replies to the questions in the TINA system. To further justify the importance of addressing the turn-around time of replies, the researchers also investigated the meaningful relationship between student satisfaction and response time. The researchers addressed and resolved the reply time using Kano Analysis. The research also used purposive sampling, using researcher-made survey questionnaires to find the relationship between student satisfaction and the timeliness of replies. With the help of the Pearson correlation coefficient, the researcher found a positive correlation between student satisfaction and reply time, with a positive correlation value of 0.4090. Since a positive correlation is found between student satisfaction and reply time, improving the turn-around time of reply certainly increases student satisfaction. Therefore, to improve TINA, the researchers advocate implementing its Artificial Intelligence Chatbot version to improve reply time. The research is the first to contribute to the Field of Technology and University Services within the local context since it may give practical suggestions on properly creating an Inquiry Assistant System among regional universities.

Abstract

Student engagement programs served as catalysts for student development, community building, and active participation in campus life. This research explored the state of student engagement programs within the Supreme Student Government (SSG), focusing on their effectiveness and levels of student participation. Utilizing the 5 Whys methodology, the study identified and analyzed critical challenges and opportunities related to student motivation, program structure, and alignment with student interests. The findings revealed that internal communication breakdowns and budget constraints were significant factors impeding the effectiveness of SSG programs. Student participation was only moderate due to conflicting schedules with classes and insufficient program marketing. The rigid structure of SSG programs and a lengthy approval process further limited their ability to meet student needs. A disconnect between program content and student interests hindered engagement. The research concluded that the root causes of these problems lay in the need for more structured communication channels, a complex approval process, and misalignment with student interests. By addressing these underlying motives, recommendations included enhancing internal communication, allocating funds as efficiently as possible, and creating an inclusive learning environment. These strategies aimed to develop more effective and appealing student engagement programs, ultimately fostering a more active and engaged student body.

Abstract

This study examined the intricate life experiences and challenges faced by music core groups within the ever-changing Cebu Province Music Industry. A qualitative multiple-case study technique was employed to harmonize narratives by revealing common experiences and challenges. Furthermore, the research aimed to provide interventions that might assist music core groups in effectively addressing their difficulties. Through cross-case analysis, the study uncovered underlying themes, such as Evolution and Growth, Challenges, Support Systems, and Passion and Personal Fulfillment, that transcended the boundaries of different music core groups. The text explored distinct variations in terms of Business Orientation, Role and Artistic Identity, Artistic Foundation, and Creative Liberty. Coping strategies were found to be essential for building resilience and took several forms, including faith, self-care, diversion, economic bargaining skills, continual learning, and community participation. The discovery of these coping methods offered valuable insights into the resilience techniques utilized by music core groups. Moreover, the research extended beyond mere inquiry and put forth interventions designed to assist music core groups in surmounting their difficulties. This research provided practical suggestions to aid stakeholders, policymakers, and industry participants in improving the sustainability and well-being of the dynamic music community in Cebu Province. These recommendations aimed to build specific initiatives for this purpose.

Abstract

Proper implementation of Solid Waste Management (SWM) is an essential part for the protection of the residents’ health, safety and environmental quality. SWM methods have been adapted by many residential subdivisions into a more practical and effective option to establish sustainability based on the reduce, reuse, and recycle principles. This study aims to contribute a solution to the challenging operation of solid waste management in Modena Mactan subdivision (1) to comprehensively describe the homeowner’s status classification and demographic characteristics, (2) to evaluate volume of waste produced and recycled waste revenue collected, (3) to recognize homeowner’s perception on the current waste management status, and (4) to showcase feasible approaches for sustainable waste management program. The study applied the descriptive research design and was carried out to 93 homeowners who went through the (house-to-house) paper-pencil-questionnaire survey. Results showed that the subdivision produced an average of 33 tons or 16.974 kilograms of solid waste per household per month, and generated an amount of 1,369 PHP or 27.41 USD revenue from the segregated recyclable waste collected from August 1-28, 2021. Moreover, about 87% of the respondents found convenient and sought to change in paperless system. Conclusively, it was revealed that 74% of the respondents found the recycling incentive scheme more inclusive as a feasible approach for waste management strategy to sustain the solid waste management program in Modena Mactan subdivision, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between registrar general services, physical setup, and staff familiarity in shaping student satisfaction in a high school setting. Using a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, responses from 264 students were analyzed through mean scores and Pearson’s correlation coefficients. Physical setup received the highest mean score (3.35), followed by staff familiarity (3.09) and general services (2.91). Significant positive correlations were found between general services and physical setup (r = 0.56), general services and staff familiarity (r = 0.34), and physical setup and staff familiarity (r = 0.41). Based on these results, the study recommends infrastructure improvements, empathy-based staff training, and digital service enhancements to foster a more student-centered registrar experience.
