Abstract

The spread of COVID-19 has become a global health threat after the World Health Organization said the status of the spread of COVID-19 became a pandemic. The problems that ascend in the effort to avoid outbreaks are due to lack of community awareness and accessibility in supporting Social Distancing and Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policies. This research aims to describe the strategy in constructing community resilience and digital literacy during the COVID-19 pandemic by using a human security approach. This research also aims to describe the socio-political impact of spreading fake news during the COVID-19 outbreak.  The research uses qualitative research methods with a literary and empirical approach. The result of the research show the social impact is the declining public trust in the government which is indicated by lack of awareness of citizens in supporting government policies and misleading information related to government policies in dealing with COVID-19. The result also discovered that the difference of political awareness among the public was the main cause of the spread of fake news and hate speech during the COVID-19 outbreak. Another finding stated constructing community resilience can be pursued in four ways 1) increasing social networks and the quality of education; 2) legal legitimacy to maintain security; 3) increasing cooperation and coordination between the government, NGOs, and the community (4) reconstruction of community-based education curricula. This partnership model is evidenced by the collaboration between government, communities and CSOs involved in building resilience and disaster planning. Thus, there are 3 important pillars in realizing community resilience: partnership, involvement, and education. Revitalizing the community resilience and digital literacy is an important strategy that the government and community need to pursue as a infodemic mitigation strategy as part of an early warning system in increasing public immunity against infodemic. This infodemic mitigation model can be pursued by introducing fact-checking techniques for health and pandemic information. We recommend the need for soft skills-based curriculum reconstruction to increase digital literacy and community resilience in educational programs in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students’ behavior in using the internet while learning and analyze factors that change the students’ behavior at the State Senior High School 2 of Sungai Ambawang. The research used a qualitative method to obtain a detailed and comprehensive understanding of their behavior using the internet as learning media at school. The research found that the student struggled to concentrate during the lesson. One of the factors was that the students played game, browsed other media, and did other online activities. The data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation. To analyze the data, the researchers did several procedures such as data reduction, presentation, and verification. This research used a behaviorism theory expressed by B.F. Skinner. This theory focuses on the relationship between the effect of an individual’s behavior on his surroundings and the effect of the surrounding on the individual. According to Skinner, almost all human behavior falls into two categories: respondent and operant behavior. Respondent behavior is an unconscious action (reflex) that is resulted from a particular stimulus from the surrounding. Meanwhile, the operant behavior refers to behavior emitted spontaneously and freely.

Abstract

Forest and land fires in Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency, severely impact environmental pollution and public health. This condition causes quite significant ecological and social losses. First, the smoke produced from these fires contains various dangerous substances, such as carbon monoxide, dust particles, and toxic chemicals. Continuous exposure to these substances can cause respiratory problems, respiratory tract diseases, and other health problems in local communities. Apart from that, forest fires also result in the loss of natural habitat for various species of flora and fauna. Disrupted ecosystems can cause biodiversity loss and affect local food chains. Recovery of fire-affected ecosystems takes a long time, and some species may experience local extinction due to habitat loss. Furthermore, preventing and responding to forest fires requires significant resources in terms of personnel and equipment. Funds allocated for firefighting can disrupt local government budgets that should be used for infrastructure development and community welfare programs. Therefore, forest fires harm the environment and health and impose an economic burden on the people of Sungai Raya District. Efforts to prevent forest and land fires and educate the public regarding the risks of prevention are essential to overcome these negative impacts. Sustainable measures such as law enforcement against illegal forest burning, sustainable land management, and increasing public awareness of the importance of preserving the environment can help reduce fire risks and protect public health.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of a tourist village in Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency has a significant impact on the social resilience of the local community. This development process not only increases economic potential, but also strengthens social interactions between residents and tourists. First of all, the tourism sector is a new source of income for the community, creating jobs and increasing economic prosperity. This can reduce poverty levels and increase population access to education and health services. Apart from that, the existence of tourist villages creates opportunities for local communities to market their traditional products, increasing added value and sustainability of the local economy. The development of tourist villages also strengthens the social networks of local communities. Interaction between residents and tourists results in an exchange of culture, values and experiences. It enriches people's social lives by introducing them to diverse perspectives and traditions. In this way, tourist villages create an inclusive environment that promotes tolerance and mutual understanding between cultures. The active involvement of residents in welcoming and serving tourists also builds a sense of shared responsibility for the development of the destination. However, it should be remembered that developing tourist villages can also pose challenges, such as the possibility of rapid social change and potential conflicts between local and commercial interests. Therefore, it is important for the government and relevant stakeholders to manage the development of tourist villages wisely, ensuring the right balance between economic growth, cultural preservation and social justice so that the positive impacts can be felt in a sustainable manner by all local communities.

Abstract

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health issue in Indonesia, especially in border areas like Sambas Regency, where intervention efforts have seen limited success. This study investigates the biopolitical dimensions of stunting by highlighting the disconnect between national policies and local realities, particularly in community participation and behavioral change. Using a qualitative case study in Lela Village, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Results indicate that low paternal involvement, reliance on traditional medicine, poor health literacy, and smoking habits hinder prevention efforts. State narratives also tend to overburden mothers while neglecting shared responsibility. Biopolitical and gender based approaches to stunting remain underexplored in Indonesia. Stunting is understood here as a complex interaction of power and knowledge that influences public perspectives and government policy. The study calls for a shift from top-down technical fixes to inclusive strategies that promote gender equity, empower communities, and adapt to socio-cultural contexts. It contributes to the discourse on public health governance by advocating participatory, context-sensitive, and transformative solutions for sustainable stunting reduction.
