Abstract

The role of pharmacists is very important in helping people change their living habits to maintain good personal sanitation. Inadequate personal sanitation and a lack of awareness of maintaining personal sanitation are at great risk of being affected by skin diseases. The impact of skin diseases encourages people to self-medicate using medicines that are easily available and cannot be separated from the risk of inappropriate and rational use of medicines. The aim of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and awareness of Tahfidz Qur'an Amanah District High School students. Deli Serdang in maintaining personal sanitation as an effort to prevent skin diseases so that it can increase awareness and change students' mindsets about self-sanitation. This community service activity is carried out using a consultative outreach method in providing education about personal sanitation. Education is provided through lectures, discussions, questions and answers and demonstrations about personal sanitation. The results of this service activity show an increase in knowledge about self- sanitation among Tahfidz Amanah High School students after being given education. Conclusion: This community service activity was carried out in the direction expected. Pharmacists play an important role in helping students change their mindset and increase awareness about personal sanitation. This is demonstrated by the increasing understanding of Tahfidz Amanah High School students regarding self-sanitization to prevent skin diseases based on eval_uation results after education on self-sanitation to prevent skin diseases.

Abstract

Kelompok pertama (kontrol positif), kelompok kedua (kontrol negatif), kelompok ketiga (Shampoo Ekstrak Etanol Daun Cengkeh 10%), kelompok 4 (Shampoo Ekstrak Etanol Daun Cengkeh 20%) dan kelompok kelima (Shampoo Ekstrak Etanol Daun Cengkeh 30%).

Abstract

Acne is a skin disease where the pores are clogged, causing inflamed pus pockets due to the activity of oil glands called sebaceous glands under the skin and this activity is stimulated by increased androgen hormones. Cloves are herbal plants that contain essential oil chemicals. The chemical composition of clove leaf oil mainly consists of eugenol. Eugenol has pharmacological effects as an antibacterial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Emulsion is a skin barrier that has received a lot of attention because of its small particle size so that it can be thermodynamically stable and can increase drug penetration. Recent advances in nanoemulsion research have created new prospects in a number of industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food, and cosmetics. The main objective of this counseling is to provide information related to the manufacture of emulsigel preparations as anti-acne so that students at SMA Negeri 1 Deli Tua can make and through this counseling program it is hoped that there will be an increase in understanding and skill development. Thus, students can create one Anti Acne skincare product that they need and create a healthier, safer and more sustainable environment.

Abstract

Abstract

Flavonoids in kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris) leaves function as powerful antioxidants that increase skin protection against UV radiation through absorption and scattering of ultraviolet rays. The presence of chromophore groups in the form of conjugated double bonds in flavonoids is able to absorb UVB rays so as to reduce their intensity on the skin and contribute to increasing the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value of the moisturizer gel. This allows the product to function as a moisturizer as well as a natural plant-based sunscreen. This research aims to formulate kelakai leaf extract moisturizer gel, eval_uate its physical stability, and measure the SPF value. The extract was obtained through maceration, then made into moisturizer gel with concentrations of 3% (F1), 5% (F2), and 7% (F3). For four weeks, organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, stability, viscosity, and centrifugation tests were conducted. The results showed that all formulas were homogeneous, brownish yellow (F1), light brown (F2), and dark brown (F3) in color; spreadability 5.39-6.20 cm; pH 5.07-5.96; stable at room temperature and cold; viscosity 6192-7108 cPs; and no phase separation. In vitro SPF measurements using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 290-320 nm showed the highest SPF value in F3 (7% extract) of 27.51, while F1 and F2 were 18.49 and 21.94 respectively, so that the three formulas can provide optimal protection from UV rays.
