Abstract

Minang Creating the fictional film "Pakasiah Biola" departs from several parts of the film's elements, where the film, when viewed from a genre perspective, is divided into three parts, namely fiction films, documentary films, and experimental films. The choice of the fiction genre that the author makes here is because films with that genre have a very wide space in transforming ideas and space to realize the imaginative thoughts that the author gets when analyzing the script "Pakasiah Biola" either visually/cinematically or narratively. In the concept of the work of Pakasiah Biola that will be made, the artist creates a film based on Bazin's thinking, and there are 7 things that become elements of the realist film structure, which include: relatively simple stories, reallocation, real setting unprofessional actors, deep-focus, long-take and minimize editingKeywords: Pakasiah Violin; Fiction Movies; Fiction Genre.AbstrakMenciptakan film fiksi “Pakasiah Biola”, berangkat dari beberapa bagian unsur film, dimana film apabila ditinjau dari segi genre dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu film fiksi, film dokumenter dan film experimental. Pilihan terhadap genre fiksi yang pengkarya lakukan disini karena dalam film dengan genre tersebut memiliki ruang yang sangat luas dalam mentransformasikan ide-ide dan ruang untuk merealisasikan pemikiran-pemikiran imajinatif yang pengkarya peroleh ketika menganalisa naskah “Pakasiah Biola” baik secara visual/cinematic ataupun secara naratif.Pada konsep garapan karya film Pakasiah Biola yang akan dibuat, pengkarya menciptakan film berdasarkan pemikiran Bazin terdapat 7 hal yang menjadi elemen struktur film realis, yang meliputi: relative simple strories, real location, real setting unprofessional actors, deep-fosus, longtake, dan minimize editingKata Kunci: Pakasiah Biola; Film Fiksi; Genre Fiksi.

Abstract

The rise of digital media and globalization has fundamentally reshaped film genre theory, shifting it from a rigid classification system to a dynamic, negotiable space of meaning. This study addresses the theoretical gap left by traditional structuralist approaches, which fail to explain the pervasive hybridity and fluidity of genres in contemporary global cinema. Its objective is to analyze how these concepts redefine genre boundaries, examine the influence of streaming platform algorithms on genre formation, and explore how non-Western cinemas employ genre as a tool for cultural expression and resistance. Employing a qualitative literature review methodology with thematic analysis, the research synthesizes key scholarly texts. The findings demonstrate that genre hybridity is not merely an aesthetic choice but is structurally linked to the industrial logics of digital platforms and serves as a vital cultural strategy for identity articulation, particularly in Asian and Latin American films. The study concludes that genre must be reconceptualized as a fluid, hybrid, and discursive practice embedded within broader socio-economic power relations. This reconceptualization provides a crucial framework for understanding film in the digital era, where genre functions simultaneously as an industrial mechanism, a narrative framework, and a site for cultural negotiation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan komposisi segitiga dalam mise-en-scène dan penataan angle pada film fiksi Lakan sebagai strategi visual untuk membangun dan menyampaikan tema keadilan. Lakan adalah adaptasi cerita rakyat Sitalang Barajo Sipado Surang yang menuturkan upaya Lakan mencari keadilan atas pembunuhan ayahnya; naskah terdiri dari 54 scene dengan durasi 30 menit. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan analisis kualitatif formal visual (close reading frames  shot analysis) pada adegan-adegan kunci yang dipilih berdasarkan penanda komposisi segitiga yang teridentifikasi dalam proposal produksi (scene 7, 16, 32). Data berupa dokumentasi frame, deskripsi blocking, properti, wardrobe, dan laporan teknis produksi (kamera, lensa, lighting) yang relevan. Hasil menunjukkan komposisi segitiga diaplikasikan melalui tiga mekanisme: (1) interaksi dua objek dan satu properti (mis. pemain–pemain–foto), (2) blocking pemain dalam ruang sidang yang membentuk tiga titik fokus, dan (3) penggunaan wardrobe dan setting untuk menegaskan relasi kekuasaan. Komposisi segitiga bertindak sebagai penanda visual yang menegaskan pusat perhatian, memperkuat dimensi naratif (keadilan, konflik kekuasaan), dan menciptakan kedalaman ruang pada layar datar. Temuan memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi sinematografi pendidikan dan kajian estetika visual film, serta merekomendasikan agar penerapan komposisi semacam ini didokumentasikan secara sistematis dalam proses produksi.Kata kunci: Analisis Film, Mise-en-Scène, Sinematografi, Segitiga, Representasi Keadilan
