Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efek dari penambahan asam formiat yang berbeda dalam pembuatan silase limbah ikan terhadap kecernaan dan gambaran darah ikan patin (Pangasius sp.). Penelitian ini terdari 4 jenis pakan yang berbeda dan 3 kali ulangan, yaitu: P1 (70% pakan komersil dan 30% tepung limbah ikan), P2 (70% pakan komersil dan 30% tepung silase limbah ikan dengan penambahan asam formiat 3%), P3 (70% pakan komersil dan 30% tepung silase limbah ikan dengan penambahan asam formiat 5%) dan P4 (70% pakan komersil dan 30% tepung silase limbah ikan dengan penambahan asam formiat 7%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kecernaan total, protein dan lemak tertinggi secara nyata (P<0.05) diperoleh perlakuan P1 dan P2, sedangkan nilai terkecil terdapat pada perlakuan P3 dan P4. Nilai leukosit, hematokrit, dan haemoglobin untuk setiap perlakuan umumnya berada di luar kisaran normal nilai gambaran darah ikan air tawar. Penggunaan asam formiat dengan dosis 3, 5 dan 7% dalam pembuatan silase limbah ikan tidak berdampak positif pada nilai kecernaan pakan ikan patin. Penggunaan asam formiat juga berdampak negatif pada proses fisiologis ikan patin yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai leukosit, hematokrit dan haemoglobin yang diperoleh berada diluar kisaran normal ikan air tawar

Abstract

Waduk Nadra Krenceng merupakan waduk yang berada di Kota Cilegon, Banten merupakan penampungan air dari sungai Rawa Danau dan beberapa aliran sungai sekitar Kota Cilegon dan DAS Cidanau. Sebagai tempat penampungan air maka waduk mempunyai kapasitas tertentu dan sangat rawan mengalami perubahan kualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan memantau kualitas air Waduk Nadra Krenceng. Penelitian ini dilakasanakan pada bulan Maret - April 2015 pada 4 stasiun pengamatan yaitu: Inlet Kapudenok, inlet Rawa Gondong Kubang Lesung, di tengah waduk dan outlet Krenceng Masigit. Suhu perairan Waduk Nadra Krenceng   berkisar antara 27-31°C,   kecerahan antara 0,16-0,25m, pH   antara 7,58-8,37, DO  antara      6,6-12,5 mg/l, Nitrat antara 1,1-9,4 mg/l, fosfat antara 0,12-0,35 mg/l dan kandungan khlorofil-a perairan berkisar antara 22,45-391,13 µg/l. Kata Kunci : Cilegon, Waduk Nadra Krenceng, Kualitas air,

Abstract

Situ Cibanten used by local communities especially for bathing and washing. These waters get pressures by anthropogenic disturbances. Objective of the study is to evaluate water quality of Situ Cibanten based on their plankton diversity. The study conducted from April – July 2014 at Situ Cibanten, district Ciomas, Serang Regency. Plankton sample taken using plankton net no.25 (mesh 55 – 60 µm) and observed at Aquaculture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Banten Province. The research use purpossive sampling methods to determine the sampling stations. Plankton diversity calculated using Shannon Weaver diversity index. The results showed plankton diversity index value at Situ Cibanten range from 0.57 – 1.09, which is classified low diversity index and fall into the category heavy polluted.

Abstract

Helminth parasites cause ecologically, biologically and economically losses.Parasitic infections not only deadly for fish, but also decreased levels of fecundityand influenced fry development. The main commodities from Karangantu andLabuan fishing port are yellowstripe scad (Caranx leptolepis). The research aimsto identifies the intensity and prevalence of helminth parasites in yellowstripescad from Karangantu and Labuan fishing port. The experiment was conductedfrom May until June 2015. Measurement of fish biology and identification ofspecies of helminth parasites carried out in the Laboratory of AquacultureDepartment of Fisheries Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan AgengTirtayasa. The method used in this research is descriptive and sampling bycollecting various data of the sample studied. The results showed thatLechitocladium angustiovum and Lecitochirium sp. infected the yellowstripe scad(32% at gastric).

Abstract

Situ Cipondoh is favorite location for the fisherman in Tangerang Regency andthe surrounding area. The aim of the research is to know characteristics andperception from the fisherman to Situ Cipondoh and economic value ofrecreational fishing in Situ Cipondoh. The research using primary data which iscollected by accidental sampling from 50 fisherman. Valuation of recreationalfishing in Situ Cipondoh using travel cost approach. Average respondent age are34 years old, graduate from Senior High School and earn money about2.000.000,00 IDR – 3.000.000,00 each month. They usually come alone and stayfor fishing about 6 hours and more. Significant factor that affect the number oftourists is the number of fish catched. Based on the calculation, value ofrecreational fishing in Situ Cipondoh estimated at 281.687.255,62 IDR perannum.

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one freshwater fish which have high economic value. In the culture of tilapia, feed is the most important external factors. The optimal levels of protein to support the growth of tilapia ranged from 28-40 %, however the digested one is only about 20-25 % and the others were wasted and accumulated in the water. An attempt have been done to improve the feed digestibility value in tilapia by using the prebiotics addition to the feed. The aims of this research was to evaluate the addition of prebiotics to the feed to improve feed digestibility value in tilapia. The parameters measured were the amount of feed intake, the total population of bacteria, protein digestibility, fat digestibility, total digestibility, protein retention, fatty retention, specific growth rate, survival rate and feed efficiency. The results showed that the protein digestibility was 92.25%, fatty digestibility was 96.61% and total digestibility was 86.77%. The best results of feed was found in the addition of 1% prebiotic.Keyword: digestibility, prebiotics, tilapia

Abstract

Seaweed has been cultivated with the purpose to meet a demand of market which incrense immediately. One of factors that can determine the success of seaweed culture is the right location to meet requirement for seaweed cultivation. The purpose of this study to analyze physical and chemical parameters in the Lontar village. Determination of station with randomized method that represent the location that includes 5 stations with repetition three times. Measurement of physical and chemical parameters that the brightness of the water, wave height, current velocity, depth, temperature, salinity, pH conducted at research sites. While for nitrate, phosphate and TSS parameter were measured in the analysis laboratory of department of water resources and settlements (DSAP provinsi Banten). Results of testing the physical and chemical parameters in the waters of Lontar village at District Tirtayasa, Serang, in November-December 2014 can be stated suitable to be used as a location for seaweed cultivation Kappaphycus alvarezii. While the test results showed that the suitability of the location of all stations which observed were stated kind and proper to be used as a location for seaweed cultivation Kappaphypus alvarezzi.

Abstract

Inlet of Waduk Nadra affected by the antrophogenic wastes from the domestic activity in surronding area. For the management reason, it is important to do the research in this waters area. The study conducted on June – July 2014 at Waduk Nadra Krenceng, Cilegon Banten. The research used purpossive sampling methods and analyzed by the desctriptive methods. The result showed there were 10 genus of phytoplankton i.e Anabaena sp, Closterium sp, Staurastrum sp, Tetraedron sp, Gloeocystis sp, Desmodesmus sp, Navicula sp, Melosira sp, Gonyostomum sp, and Staurodesmus sp. The most abundant phytoplankton is Anabaena sp and followed by Closterium sp. Total abundance of algae at Waduk Nadra in a range of 6.795 – 16.099 ind/l, where the highest abundance was at station I and the lowest at station III.Keywords: Waduk Nadra, management, phytoplankton

Abstract

Decreasing seaweed aquaculture in Panjang Island was allegedly affected by deterioration of water quality after the expansion of industry in Banten Bay. Thus, it is important to evaluate the growth performance of Kappaphycus alvarezii in the lead-contaminated farming area. The study took place in Panjang Island and Lontar waters to compare the growth performance of K. alvarezii in a high and low lead-exposes farming area. The seaweed farmed for 30 days by using a long-line method. Water samples collected four times with an interval of 10 days. Specific growth rate, temperature, pH, salinity, water motion, Secchi depth, and depth of the water were the parameter measured. The results show a high lead concentration in Panjang Island with the value of 0.024-0.046 mg/L, while in Lontar waters, the concentration was 0.020-0.026 mg/L. Even though Panjang Island has higher lead concentrations, but the weight growth of the seaweed from Panjang Island was higher than the seaweed from Lontar waters with the seaweed weight of 439.92 g compared to 239.13 g, respectively. The growth performance of K. alvarezii was not affected by the pollution when other environmental factors were suitable for the growth of this seaweed. Abstract

Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus is a leading commodity for cultivation in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. One of the hormones that can stimulate fish growth is the recombinant Epinephelus lanceolatus growth hormone (rElGH) in artificial feed. The research aimed to determine the optimal dose of rElGH used in artificial feed on the growth and survival of Sinyonya. The common carp of Sinyonya initial weight of 2 g was reared in an aquarium with volume 72 L. The research design used was completely randomized design with four treatments, namely (A) control, (B) rElGH 3 mg/kg, (C) rElGH 6 mg/kg, and (D) rElGH 9 mg/kg and each treatment consisted of three replications. The results showed that the absolute weight of Sinyonya carp juvenile treated with treatment B produced the best biomass of 3.22±0.06 g, treatment C 3.14±0.05 g, treatment D 3.04±0 .08 g, and treatment A 2.62±0.06 g.  The best survival rate in treatment B was 100%, treatment C 97.67%, treatment D 97.67%, and treatment A 93.33%. The feed consumed by treatment A 199.27 g, treatment B was 196.07 g, treatment C was 194.77 g, and treatment D was 195.33 g. The specific growth rate of treatment A 7.49%, treatment B 9.12%, treatment C 8.97%, and treatment D 8.69%. The feed conversion ratio for treatment B is 4,10%, treatment C 4.,16%, treatment D 4,32, and treatment A 5.,24% . The addition of rElGH to feed resulted in better growth and survival compared to the control treatment. Feeding with rElGH 3 mg/kg for 35 days was able to improve growth performance in the common carp Sinyonya.
