Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wacana ketidakadilan gender dalam cerpen “Dia Masih Bisa Tergelak” karya Arafat Nur yang terbit pada media femina.co.id, 19 Maret 2017. Adapun teori yang digunakan adalah ketidakadilan gender yang dipaparkan oleh Mansour Fakih. Ketidakadilan gender menurut Mansour Fakih terdiri atas lima bentuk, yaitu marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotipe, kekerasan, dan beban kerja. Metode kualitatif-deskriptif dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah tokoh utama (Nurmala) mengalami ketidakadilan dalam bentuk beban kerja karena pemerkosaan. Beban kerja dihadirkan oleh penulis cerpen hampir sepanjang jalannya cerita. Ketidakadilan gender dalam bentuk beban kerja tersebut juga menurunkan ketidakadilan gender yang lain, yaitu subordinasi, stereotipe, dan marginalisasi. Beban kerja termanifestasikan dalam bentuk mencuci piring, mengurus dapur, menyiapkan kopi, menyapu pekarangan rumah, mencuci pakaian, hingga keluar rumah untuk mencari pekerjaan di tengah-tengah tokoh utama harus mengurus bayinya. Sementara itu, ketidakadilan gender dalam bentuk subordinasi, stereotipe, dan marginalisasi yang menjadi turunan dari beban kerja adalah pekerjaan domestik, perempuan dianggap lemah, hingga pembatasan ruang gerak bagi perempuan.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover an Indigenous character named Oentoeng in the short story “Penunjuk Jalan”. The short story is one of Iksaka Banu's works contained in the book Semua untuk Hindia. The identity of the character that is trying to be dismantled includes hybridity, mimicry, and ambivalence. The theory used in this study is the postcolonial theory initiated by Homi K. Bhabha. The study used a qualitative descriptive method. There are three findings in this study. First, the identity of Oentoeng is a hybrid. Oentoeng absorbs Western values continuously, namely from his upbringing, education, and his association in the Dutch family environment. Second, mimicry as mockery by the character can be seen from three aspects, specifically the ability to speak Dutch, possess Western medical knowledge, and to be able to devise a strategy of rebellion that made the VOC troubles as invaders. Third, Oentoeng's attitude of wanting to be angry and willing to provide assistance, treatment, and entertainment to the Dutch doctor and his porter who had an accident could be interpreted as a form of ambivalence in the Indigenous character.

Abstract

This research seeks to dismantle the philosophical meaning of "celana" from various points of view in the collection of poetry Selamat Menunaikan Ibadah Puisi by Joko Pinurbo. As for the poems that were carefully selected, only three poems contained the diction "celana", namely “celana, 1”, “celana, 2”, and “celana, 3”. The approach used was Paul Ricoeur's Hermeneutic Approach. This approach is used to obtain various philosophical meanings of "celana" in more depth. The chosen method is a qualitative-descriptive method with repeated reading techniques. Then the findings of this research is the philosophical meaning of "celana" which includes three meanings. First "celana" in the real context, "celana" as achievements in the context of education, "celana" as provisions in the context of religiosity.

Abstract

It is undeniable that poets often convey ideas with signs in the form of words, clauses, even sentences, thereby creating implicit or implicit messages. Studying a poem requires structural and semiotic analysis, because poetry is a structure of meaningful signs. Joko Pinurbo's poems contain many messages from deep anxiety. This study seeks to explain the meaning of related poetry according to Riffaterre's Semiotics theory. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The material object in this research is a poem by Joko Pinurbo "Baju Baru". Meanwhile, the formal object is meaning based on language and literary conventions with Riffaterre's Semiotics theory which consists of heuristic readings, hermeneutic readings, as well as matrices, models and variants, hypograms.  The results of the research through heuristic reading analysis found that fathers bought new clothes after payday because fathers' salaries increased. From the hermeneutic reading as a whole, the poem was created by the author as a form of outpouring of his heart as well as a form of criticism of the government for the phenomenon he is seeing, the increase in basic prices that afflict the lower class society, the matrix of the poem is a situation where basic needs soar, while workers' wages only increased slightly or even did not increase. The model of the poem is "gaji bapak" and "presiden". The variants consist of five variants. The first variant is "bapak gajian", the second variant is "reaksi si aku", the third variant is "perasaan presiden", the fourth variant is "kerusakan baju", the fifth variant is "keberadaan tukang becak dan presiden".

Abstract

Dalam penciptaan karya sastra, tradisi budaya memang menjadi daya tarik tersendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam cerpen “Di Tubuh Tarra, dalam Rahim Pohon” karya Faisal Oddang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak-catat. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah nilai-nilai budaya berdasarkan tujuh unsur nilai budaya yang dikemukakan oleh Koentjaraningrat meliputi (1) bahasa, (2) sistem pengetahuan, (3) organisasi sosial, (4) sistem peralatan hidup dan teknologi, (5) sistem mata pencaharian hidup, (6) sistem religi, dan (7) kesenian. Temuan dalam penelitian ini, tujuh unsur nilai budaya terdapat dalam cerpen “Di Tubuh Tarra, dalam Rahim Pohon” karya Faisal Oddang. Ketujuh unsur nilai budaya masyarakat Toraja tersebar dalam berbagai hal, antara lain penguburan bayi di pohon tarra, larangan berzina, sistem kasta, kepercayaan terhadap hal mistik, gotong royong, kebersamaan, pengetahuan tentang hal mistik, istilah bahasa Toraja, mata pencaharian. masalah, hingga penggunaan alat-alat produktif.
