Abstract

This research is motivated by students as components that have the responsibility to improve the quality of education. Positive changes in student behavior which are the result of the learning process at school can be seen from their result of learning. Student learning results can be seen from the cognitive, affective and psychomotor factors of students wherein learning is not only mastery the theory concepts of subject, but also mastery of habits, perceptions, pleasures, interests and talents, social adjustment, skills, goals, desires and expectations. One of the psychological factors that influence learning results that are considered the most essential are intelligence, and interest. This study were aimed to determine the effect of emotional intelligence and interest in learning simultaneously and partially on the biology learning results of class X MIPA students at SMAN RambiPuji Jember. This study was used a quantitative approach with the type of associative research conducted at SMAN RambiPuji Jember. The population includes all students of class X, 143 students were taken. Determination of the number of sample were used the Slovin formula obtained 105 students, using the cluster random sampling technique, three classes were taken, totaling 107 students. Data collection techniques were used questionnaires and documentation and data analysis were used multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a simultaneous and partial influence of emotional intelligence and interest in learning on the biology learning outcomes of students of class X MIPA at SMAN Rambi Puji Jember. Keywords: emotional intelligence, interest in learning, learning outcomes   Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa sebagai komponen yang mempunyai tanggung jawab untuk meningkatakan kualitas pendidikan.  Perubahan positif perilaku siswa yang merupakan hasil dari proses belajar di sekolah dapat dilihat dari hasil belajarnya.  Hasil belajar siswa dapat dilihat dari aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik siswa karena belajar tidak hanya penguasaan konsep teori mata pelajaran saja, tetapi juga penguasaan kebiasaan, persepsi, kesenangan, minat-bakat, penyesuaian sosial, keterampilan, cita-cita, keinginan dan harapan. Salah satu faktor psikologis yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar yang dipandang paling esensial adalah kecerdasan, dan minat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional dan  minat belajar secara simultan dan parsial terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas X MIPA di SMAN Rambipuji Jember.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif yang dilakukan di SMAN Rambipuji Jember. Populasi meliputi seluruh siswa kelas X yang berjumlah 143 siswa. Penentuan jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus slovin yang didapat 105 siswa, dengan menggunakan teknik cluter random sampling maka diambil sebanyak tiga kelas yang berjumlah 107 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi serta analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh kecerdasan emosional dan minat belajar secara simultan dan parsial terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas X MIPA di SMAN Rambipuji Jember. Abstract

Everyone needs cholesterol. But, make sure the level of cholesterol in our body is not too high. If the cholesterol level is too high, may be our body will facing a few of diseases such as coronarie heart disease, hypertention, stroke, aterosclerosis, etc. Related to this issue, this article will elaborate some aspect  related to the risk of high level of cholesterol, the factors that causes the high cholesterol, the exercise effect on  the cholesterol level and the related theories. Based on this  theories hopefully we will aware about the important of doing exercises to decrease cholesterol level

Abstract

This study aims to describe efforts to improve students’ science literacy through contextual learning that connects science materials with the natural environment surrounding elementary school students. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at SDN Mangli 1 Jember and MIN 3 Jember. Informants included the school principals, science teachers, students’ parents, and students in grades IV and V. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed thematically using the Miles and Huberman model with source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that efforts to improve science literacy were carried out by actively involving students in observation, simple experiments, and reflection on natural phenomena in their surroundings. Contextual learning was implemented through the integration of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) principles such as inquiry, learning community, and authentic assessment. The school environment was utilized as a learning resource that encouraged student engagement and the development of science process skills. Learning activities that connected subject matter to real-life contexts effectively fostered curiosity, critical thinking skills, and environmental awareness. This study recommends that teachers consistently apply locally contextualized learning as a strategy to enhance science literacy at the elementary level. Furthermore, involving parents and the community is essential to support more meaningful science learning for students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of live worksheet-based E-LKPD in increasing student involvement and understanding of circle material in grade VI elementary school. The main problem faced is the low interest of students in mathematics learning, which is monotonous and less interactive, which causes difficulties in understanding material that is considered difficult. The development of this product is based on an analysis of student needs and interviews with teachers to identify challenges in mathematics learning. The research method used is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, product design, interactive media development, and product testing through limited and field trials. The results showed that E-LKPD based on live worksheets increased student motivation and material comprehension, significantly increasing learning outcomes between the pretest and post-test. These findings suggest that technology-based teaching media can increase the effectiveness of mathematics learning at the elementary school level, especially in materials that are considered difficult. The implication of this research is the development of interactive teaching media that can be applied in various educational contexts to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of developing students’ critical thinking skills in 21st-century learning through the integration of Science and Mathematics curricula in elementary schools. Learning processes that are still conducted separately often cause students to have difficulty understanding the relationship between concepts and solving contextual problems effectively. This study aims to describe the implementation of the integration of Science and Mathematics curricula, analyze the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of integrated learning in elementary schools. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of principals, teachers, and students involved in the learning process. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the integration of Science and Mathematics curricula was able to create more active, contextual, and meaningful learning experiences. Students became more active in discussions, problem analysis, data processing, and drawing conclusions based on observations. Integrated learning was also proven to improve students’ critical thinking skills through experiments, problem-solving activities, and group discussions. Supporting factors in the implementation of integrated learning included teacher creativity, school support, and students’ enthusiasm, while the inhibiting factors included limited learning time and teachers’ difficulties in designing integrated learning tools. Therefore, the integration of Science and Mathematics curricula can be an effective learning strategy in improving students’ critical thinking skills in 21st-century learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in the subject of addition and subtraction of fractions with different denominators through the application of Bruner’s Theory, specifically the enactive, iconic, and symbolic stages. This study employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles with a sample of 26 fifth-grade elementary school students. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and achievement tests, while data analysis was conducted both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results indicate a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, evidenced by an increase in the average score from 59.5 in the pre-intervention phase to 69.46 in Cycle I, and further to 82.19 in Cycle II, as well as a rise in mastery rates from 30.77% to 84.62%. These findings indicate that the systematic integration of the enactive, iconic, and symbolic stages of representation is capable of enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and procedural skills in fraction material. The novelty of this study lies in the explicit and systematic integration of Bruner’s stages of representation within the Classroom Action Research design for fractions with different denominators an area that has been rarely explored in depth in previous research. This study makes a theoretical contribution to the advancement of the constructivist approach and offers a practical contribution in the form of an applicable learning model designed to improve mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools.
