Abstract

A mother who has get married early can be difficult to understand the nutrition problem especially to fullfill the nutrition of under five years old. This research studied a behavior early married women in fullfill the nutrition of under five years old at Village of Pulau Mungkur, subdistrict of Gunung Toar, Regency of Kuantan Singingi, Province of Riau in 2012. This research was a descriptive studied by cross sectional design. The population were early married women had under five years old for 45 people and then to be total sampling. The data was collected by interview using questionnaire, food frequency and food recall form. The result of research show that the behavior about the fulfillment of nutrition for under five years old that classified into less good category. Energy and protein consumption of under five years old was medium category. Generally, the under five years old consumes food three time a day. The nutrition status of under five years old be based on the weight for age, height for age and weight for height is classified into normal category. It is necessary to provide the early married woman and under five years old with exstension about food, nutrition and healthy by the posyandu cadre in order to increase the behavior of mother in fullfill the nutrition need of under five years old and the role of extension about crops food in anticipate the vacant land by the departement of agriculture in order to increase food security of family. Abstract

Everybody wants to have long, useful, and happy life. To life a healthy life in our old days needs a supply of good and nutritious food which is balanced with the elderly’s physiological condition. The objective the study is to find out the description of the food consumption and disease pattern among elderly in the working area of Health Center Tapaktuan, Tapaktuan Subdistrict, Aceh Selatan District in 2012. This is a descriptive study with crosssectional design. The population of this study was 638 person of  ≥ 60 years of age, and 85 of them were selected to be the samples for this study through systematic random sampling technique. The data of the food consumption pattern were obtained through questionnaire distribution and food frequency form, while the data for disease pattern were obtained by looking at the kind of disease and the length of being sick. The result of this study showed that most of the kinds of food consumed by the elderly was in the inadequate category 55,3%, the texture of the food was in the improper category 61,2%, and the eating frequency of the elderly disorganized. Based on the pattern of disease they experienced, in general the elderly has suffered from degenerative disease such as hypertension, rheumatism, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, osteoporosis, and stroke with the length of being sick of > 2 weeks 47,1%.   Keywords: Alpha Food Consumption Pattern, Disease pattern, Elderly

Abstract

Taburia means supplemental food of multivitamin and multimineral to fulfill nutrient needs and the growth for the babies aged 6-24 months.  Taburia is as the expansion of local product of micronutrient powder (MNP) and as the strategy to overcome the anemia as the effect of iron deficiency and other micro nutrient deficiencies. The objective of this research was to know the description of consumption pattern and nutrient status of the babies aged 6-24 months getting Taburia in  Kemenangan Tani  area,  Medan Tuntungan, Medan City in 2012. This research was quantitative descriptive with Cross sectional design. The results of research showed that consumption pattern of the babies  aged  6-24  months  based on  the category of food  menu was categorized  good for  67,7% and  consumption pattern of the babies aged 6-24 months based on  the category of eating  frequency was categorized good for 53,2%, whereas based on  the weight  per age  was categorized  normal  for 57,6%, nutritional  status based on height  per  age was categorized normal for 68,1% and nutritional status based on weight per height  was categorized normal  for 73,0%. Taburia administration program may enhance nutritional status of two years old of the babies into normal. Hence, it is expected that Health Department should continue Taburia  administration program since it is proved that  it may enhance  nutritional  status of  two years old of  the babies in Kemenangan Tani area, Medan Tuntungan and also it is expected that Primary Health Center is more active in giving  the socialization of  information and counseling about good consumption pattern of the baby and  Taburia administration.

Abstract

Drug addicts are generally prone to nutritional problems. Nutritional problems experienced by drug addicts due to a decrease in appetite during the period when the influence of drugs and drug withdrawal. Low food intake and takes place in a relatively long period of time will cause a drug addict nutrient deficiency resulted in a decrease in nutritional status. This study aims to determine the pattern of food consumption and nutritional status of drug addicts in Panti Sosial Pamardi Putra Insyaf. This study used a cross sectional design. The study population are drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation in PSPP Insyaf. Samples taken as many as 71 people with purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through interviews using questionnaires, forms of food records, a food frequency form and the form of food history. Drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation in PSPP Insyaf mostly aged 16-19 (57.7%) and undergo the most rehab for 5 months (38%). Frequency of drug addicts eat 3x / day with white rice consumed every day. For side dishes consumed 1-5x / week. Consumption of vegetables 1-5x / week. Unlike the long beans were consumed ≤2x / month. Fruits like banana, papaya, watermelon and cucumber consumed with 1-5x frequency / week. Energy consumption drug addicts mostly in the medium category (54.5%). Consumption of protein drug addicts mostly in the category of either 94.4%). Nutritional status of drug addicts in the vast majority is in the normal category (83.1%). Based on these results it is suggested to head the kitchen PSPP Insyaf more unwelcome attention of food or foods that cause allergies that are not often included in the diet or by replacing it with other foods. The energy consumption should be increased in order to meet the needs of drug addicts should be. There needs to be a nutritionist to set up the necessary nutritional needs of drug addicts. Abstract

Malnutrition is a state of less nourished caused by low consumption of energy and protein in the daily diet that make children weight under normal weight in appropriate age (W/A <-2SD). The prevalence of malnutrition in children under five years in Indonesia based on W/A showed an increase from 17.9% in 2010 to 19.6% in 2013. The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship of income, infectious diseases and mothers knowledge with the incidence of malnutrition in Glugur Darat Public Health Center in 2014. This research is an observational study with cross sectional approach. Samples are 97 children taken by simple random. The research instrument used is a questionnaire and the meter measuring tool. Univariate data were analyzed descriptively and bivariate data were analyzed using the chi square test with 95% CI. The results showed there was 63 children (65%) well-nourished and 34 children (35%) less nourished. The highest proportion of respondent are under MSE revenue (59%), infectious diseases (82%) and good knowledge of mothers (88%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant association between income (p = 0.030), infectious disease (p = 0.027), and the knowledge of the mother (p = 0.014) with the nutritional status of children. Based on the results of the study suggested to the mothers who have children with malnutrition status routinely bring their children to posyandu so that the children’s weight monitored regularly to improve the nutritional status of children and to prevent malnutrition in children.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                Food consumption pattern  of  Tionghoa ethnic is  affected by  cultur factor  that has existed among generations. The family in choose the daily food menu. This study is a descriptive survey in order to the food consumption pattern and nutritional status of the ethnic Tionghoa family at kelurahan Asam Kumbang Kecamatan Medan Selayang. The population in this study are all ethnic Tionghoa  family at Kelurahan Asam Kumbang Kecamatan Medan Selayang that is 104 families. The sample is a portion of the population that is 51 Families. Data collection forms using diet Food List and Food Frequency. Nutritional status data obtained by weighing and measuring the height            The results showed that every day ( always ) ethnic Tionghoa families eat rice, meat and vegetables but fruits not every day. Good energy consumption of ethnic Tionghoa families can see from 78.4 % consume adequate energy ( ≥AKEK ) and for protein consumption 96.1 % consume adequate protein (≥AKPK). Father to be a priority in the distribution of food. ethnic Tionghoa families food with high value is pork. Ethnic Tionghoa families Food tabo is beef. Nutritional status of the family are in the normal category               Based on this research, it is expected distribution of food in the family based on nutritional needs, important to have menu cycle so that the food well-organized terms kind of food, frequency of food and the amount of food nor variation of food.   Keywords: food consumption patterns, Tionghoa ethnic, nutritional status of family

Abstract

The technological development make a change of public behavior and life style like food pattern unsuited with the body necessity and less activity until having an effect on improve the diabetes mellitus case. The objective of this research to know the food pattern of diabetes mellitus at Puskesmas Kotanopan Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. This study adopted descriptive survey with design method in cross sectional. The sample on the research known in total sampling involved 60 patients with diabetes mellitus as out-patient. The data used such as primary and secondary data. Primary data was taken by interview with questionnaire, in food recall and food frequency forms. Secondary data was taken from Puskesmas, such as general description and data of patient with diabetes mellitus. In research the characteristics of patient mostly aged 50-64 years old, female. In taken carbohydrate, protein and fat is certainty exceeding standard rate namely as recommended carbohydrate 48.4 %, protein 40,0 % and fat 61,7 % respectively. The meal time of those patient diabetes mellitus should more than 3 hours. Recommended to health care improve of service the information to patient with diabetes mellitus so as to more discipline admission of food pattern, and to the patient with diabetes mellitus so as comply food pattern as requested, so that they can develop good habits and focused on the health living. Abstract

Nutrient is one of main determinant factors for the quality of human resources.  The needs of  food can be seen not only from its portion, but also from the  quality of  nutrient substances found in the food consumed.  The fulfillment of nutrient substance for pregnant mother are influenced by some factors and one of the factors is knowledge of the mother.     This research was intended to know the  knowledge of pregnant mother of first trisemester about nutrient and eating pattern for the fulfillment of nutrient.  This research used descriptive design and sampling techniques used total sampling. Data collection was carried out in September 2013 using questionnaire consisting of 2 parts, namely first part  contained the demography data and   second part contained the questionnaire about the knwoledge of the pregnant mother of first trisemester  in the  fulfillment of nutrient.  The  data on eating pattern was taken from the interview using  food recall, then analyzed using  frequency distribution table and the total respondents was for 54.                       The results of research showed that mostly the   knowledge of respondents were with medium knowledge for 24  respondents (44.4%), and the least were with good knowledge for 14 respondents  (25.9%).  Energy  intake less of  38.9% with moderate knowledge , whereas  good knowledge of 3.7% with good energy intake. Protein intake less of 22.2% with moderate knowledge, whereas good knowledge of 1.9% with sufficient protein intake.       Based on the reuslts of research, need for increased knowledgeand information to the first trimesterpregnant women about the importanceof a diet that is nutritious and balanced and as preparation for yourself during pregnancy or after childbirth.   Key words : Knowledge of nutrition, food pattern, nutritiont fulfillment, first trismester of pregnant women

Abstract

Breakfast is very beneficial for elementary school children to maintain endurance, so  they can have an activity or study well, helping to focus and easily to understand the lesson, as well as to help provide the nutrients. The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between breakfast habbits and nutritional status with academic achievement of elementary school children in SD Negeri 096132 Parapat Kecamatan Girsang Sipangan Bolon Kabupaten Simalungun 2014. This study is a descriptive survey using Cross sectional study design. Data were collected by interviewing students using questionnaire and a 24-hour food recall. Childrend’s learning achievement data obtained from the value of the monthly report cards of childrens. Nutritional status of children was measured by using body mass index for age (BMI/Age). The chi-square test result showed that there is no correlation between breakfast habbits with learning achievement of childrens (p=0,055), there is no correlation between breakfast habbits with nutritional status of childrens (p=0,056). There was a significant correlation between nutritional status of childrens with learning achievement (p=0,012). The correlation of nutritional status and academic achievement is an indicator of how important to have an attention to the nutritional status of children to increase the ability of  brain and body. Based on the results of the study suggested to the parent’s of children to give more attention to their child nutrition covering the quantity, quality and nutritional value which is contained in food material. If children have a good nutrition it will form a good nutritional status and be able to compete in the world of education. And for the school, it have to monitoring the types of food or snacks which is provided in school cafeteria, so that children will receive a good donation of nutrition from food that eat by them. Abstract

Children are the most vulnerable groups affected by ARI. And in Soposurung the number of children are affected by ARI is increase every year.The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between nutritional status and immunization status with acute incidence of respiratory infection in infants, to analyze the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding, vitamin A with ARI in infants in Soposurung Public Health 2014.   This type of research is an observational cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was a toddler as many as 61 people (15 children is ARI and 46 children are not ARI) are taken by using ProbabilitySampling types Alocated Proportional Sampling.   The data were analyzed using Chi-Square statistical test with CI = 95% (α = 0.05), which indicates that there is no significant relationship between nutritional status (W/ A, H/ A and W / H) with ARI in infants (ρ = 0.642; ρ = 0.177 and ρ = 0.377). There is also no significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and nutritional status (W / A) ρ = 0.641; nutritional status (H/ A) ρ = 0.693 and for the nutritional status (W/ H) ρ = 0.192. There is a significant association between vitamin A nutritional status (H/ A) ρ = 0.044 and nutritional status (W/ H) ρ = 0.037. However, there is no significant relationship between immunization status with ARI in infants ρ = 0.404.   From this study suggested improving the nutritional status can be improved further, socialization importance of exclusive breastfeeding in infants and setting a good diet early in toddlers.   Keywords: Nutritional status, immunization status, exclusive breastfeeding, vitamine A, Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI)
