Abstract

Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) is a freshwater fish with economical value. High density will result in a limited movement space, higher competition towards oxygen and feed the growth of fish. An increase in density will also decrease the water qualitty One of the efforts to overcome the problem is with the improvement of the environment system by using charcoal filter in recirculation system. The purpose of this research was to explore the influence of different density and the best quantity towards survival rate and growth of common carp (C.carpio) and knowing the effectiveness of charcoal filter on recirculation system. This study was carried out on July to October 2012 at the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Data obtaired are absolute biomass growth, rate of absolute specifics length, survival rate, ammonia levels, feeding efficiency, and water quality parameters. Experimental research conducted used RAL (completely randomize design) with 3 treatment and 3 replication. Treatment A (10/10 liter), treatment B (15/10 liter), and treatment c (20/10 liter). The result showed that different density has significant effect (P0,05) for survival rate. The different in density absolute biomass growth and survival rate on the best 10 density of fish/10 liter, SR 86,67%±5,77, G 47,42±0,62 g; SGR 2,45±0,04%g/hari; FCR 1,15±0,03, the effectiveness charcoal filter to find ammonia to day 30 a treatment C (20/10 liter) and the measurement of water quality parameters still suitable for Common carp (C. carpio).

Abstract

Ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan air tawar yang memiliki kandungan protein tinggi serta mempunyai nilai ekonomis penting. Penambahan ekstrak buah nanas pada pakan dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan protein lebih optimal untuk pertumbuhan kultivan. Enzim bromelin yang terdapat di dalam ekstrak buah nanas dapat menghidrolisis protein menjadi komponen-komponennya yang lebih sederhana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh ekstrak buah nanas dalam pakan buatan terhadap tingkat pemanfaatan protein pakan, serta keterkaitan dengan nilai efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan (EPP), protein efisiensi rasio (PER), laju pertumbuhan relatif (RGR), dan kelulushidupan (SR). Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah ikan mas dengan ukuran 3-5 cm dengan kepadatan 20 ekor/ wadah perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, yaitu perlakuan A (tanpa penambahan ekstrak buah nanas), B (ekstrak buah nanas dosis 0,75%), C (ekstrak buah nanas dosis 1,5%), dan perlakuan D (ekstrak buah nanas dosis 2,25%). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan dengan menggunakan ekstrak buah nanas yaitu perlakuan B, C, dan D (P<0,05) memberikan pengaruh terhadap nilai EPP, PER dan RGR dan mendapat nilai tertinggi dibandingkan perlakuan tanpa menggunakan ekstrak buah nanas (perlakuan A). Nilai kelulushidupan antar perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Perlakuan terbaik untuk nilai EPP, PER, dan RGR diperoleh pada perlakuan B, yaitu dengan nilai EPP 27,21±3,93; PER 0,81±0,12, dan  RGR 0,67±0,11. Perlakuan B memiliki hasil terbaik untuk nilai EPP, PER, dan RGR. Carp (Cyprinus carpio) is one of the freshwater fish which contained high protein level  and it has high economical value. The use of the pineaple extract could improve the optimal utilization of protein compsumtion by carp (C. carpio) for their optimal growth. Bromelain enzyme found in the pineaple extract could hydrolize the protein to be more simple component. This study aims to study the effect of pineaple extract in artificial feed on the  feed utilization rate and its relations to the efficiency of feed utilization (EPP), protein efficiency ratio (PER), relative growth rate (RGR), and survival (SR). The fish body lenght used was between 3-5 cm. The density was 20 fish/tank. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments were A (without the addition of pineaple extract), B (pineaple extract 0,75%), C (pineaple extract 1,5%), and D (pineaple extract 2,25%). The data showed that the utilization of pineaple extract resulted on the more significant effect (P<0,05) on the EPP, PER, and RGR, values  compared  to the treatment A. The survival rate was not significantly different between treatments (P>0,05). The best treatment on the EPP, PER, and RGR were treatment B with a value of 27,21±3,93 EPP, 0,81±0,12 PER, 0,67±0,11 RGR. Treatment B had the best results for EPP, PER, and RGR.

Abstract

Problems arising in the cultivation of carp is carp feed prices are relatively expensive, requiring alternative materials in an effort to improve the nutrient content of feed goldfish and fisheries as well as to utilize the waste to be processed into fish silage research aims assess the effect of the addition of trash fish silage the artificial feed on protein efficiency ratio, the efficiency of feed utilization, relative growth rate and survival rate of carp seed. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The material used is a seed carp with an average individual weight of 0.9 to 1 g. Experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and each with three replications. Feed given 3 times a day ie at 07.00, 13.00, and 16.00. Treatment A, B, C, and D is applied artificial feed trash fish silage added with a dose of A (0%), B (5%), C (10%) and D (15%)%. The variables measured were EPP, PER, RGR and SR. EPP values for treatments A, B, C, and D, respectively, 22.77; 34.65; 29.84, and 24.68%. PER values for treatments A, B, C, and D, respectively, 1.01; 1.40; 1.16, and 0.79%. RGR values for treatments A, B, C, and D, respectively, 3.72; 5.02; 4.48, and 3.91% / day. SR values for all treatments A, B, C, and D is 100%. Water quality values for all the treatment that the water temperature 25-27oC, pH 6.9 to 7.5, DO 5-7mg / L, and ammonia 0.39-1mg / L. The results showed that a different dose of rumen silage has a highly different significant result (P 0.05) to SR carp juvenile.

Abstract

Tiger grouper has an economically value but the growth it is slower than the other fish species. Additional enzymes in the feed to maximize protein utilization by cultivan. Papain and bromelain enzymes is an exogenous enzymes which support in hydrolysis protein process. This research aimed to determine the effects of combination papain enzyme and bromelain enzyme to the Efficiency Feed Utilization (EFU), Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) and Specific Growth Rate (SGR). This study was carried January to March 2013 in Laboratory of Brackish Water Aquaculture Development Centre Jepara. The fish samples which were used is tiger grouper in average weight 10.49±1.26 g and length 8.13±0.17 cm in the total amount of 180 tail. The experimental method use was Completely Random Design (CRD) consists of 6 treatment : A (100% papain), B (75% papain dan 25% bromelain), C (50% papain and 50% bromelain), D (25% papain and 75% bromelain), E (100% bromelain) and F (without adding enzymes) each treatment was replicated 3 times. Data analyzed by One Way Anova follow by Duncan Test. Result of the study revealed that the combination of additional papain and bromelain enzyme in the experimental feed can increase EFU, PER and SGR for tiger grouper. B treatment appear to be the best EFU (45.862±0.444%), PER (97.579±0,946%), SGR (1.210±0.037%/day), SR (100%).

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pakan yang sesuai dengan tingkat kebutuhan nutrisi dan memiliki nilai kecernaan yang tinggi dapat mendukung pertumbuhan optimum dari ikan.  Papain merupakan enzim protease dari getah papaya yang mampu meningkatkan daya cerna dan penyerapan protein oleh ikan atas pakan yang dikonsumsi, sehingga meningkatkan pemanfaatan pakan oleh tubuh.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh papain dalam pakan buatan terhadap tingkat pemanfaatan protein pakan dan pertumbuhan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus).  Variabel yang dikaji meliputi nilai efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan (EPP), protein efisiensi rasio (PER), laju pertumbuhan relatif (RGR), dan kelulushidupan (SR). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yaitu perlakuan A (papain dosis 0%), B (papain dosis 0,75%), C (papain dosis 1,5%), dan D (papain dosis 2,25%).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan D memberikan nilai EPP dan PER tertinggi (P<0,05), yaitu masing-masing sebesar 62,83±3,48 dan 1,97±0,11%.  Nilai RGR pada perlakuan D, B, dan C adalah sama (P>0,05), namun lebih tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan A.  Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa papain dalam pakan mampu meningkatkan nilai EPP, PER, dan RGR pada benih lele dumbo (C. gariepinus).ABSTRACT The fish feed that matched with nutritional requirement and has high value of digestion values will be able to promote optimum growth of fish.  Papain is protease enzim from papaya sap.  It is able to increase the digestion rate and protein absorption of the feed consumed, so it increase the feed utility by the fish. The purpose of the research was to observe the effects of dietary papain on dietary protein utility rate and growth of the African catfish (C. gariepinus).  The variables measured were feeding efficiency (FE) value, protein efficiency ratio (PER), relative growth rate (RGR), and survival rate (SR).  This research use completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates, i.e. treatment A (0% papain), B (0.75% papain), C (1.5% papain), and D (2.25% papain). Data showed that the treatment D resulted on the highest values on FE and PER (P<0.05), that were 62.83±3.48 and 1.97±0.11%.  The value of RGR in treatments D, B, and C were similar (P>0.05), but was higher than treatment A.  It was suggested that the used of papain in practical diet was able to increase the FE, PER, and RGR values for the African catfish fingerlings (C. gariepinus).

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a freshwater fish which have important economic value, easy to cultivate, good taste, inexpensive and have higher tolerance in different enviroment. Increased density until maximum carrying capacity will decrease growth of fish. The incrase in density will be followed by an increase in the amount of feed, wasted metabolism, oxygen consumption and can decrease water quality. Decline in water quality will result in slow growth and mortality. The purpose of this research was to explore the influence of different density and the best quantity for survival rate and growth of Tilapia (O. niloticus) in resirculation system with Zeolit filter and knowning the effetiveness of zeolite filter on resirculation system. This research used different density of Tilapia (O. niloticus ) size 4-6 cm. Eksperimental reserch conducted use. RAL (completely randomize design) with 3 treatmens and 3 replication. Treatment A (10 density of fish), Treatment B (15 density of fish) and Treatment C (20 density of fish). Data obtaired are to absolute long growth, rate of absolute specifics length, find ammonia levels, survival rate, feeding efficiency, and water quality parameters. The result showed that different density has significant effect towards the growth Tilapia but not for survival rate. The survival rate for each treatment was A = 86,67±5,77 %, B = 84,44±3,85 %, and C = 78,33±2,89 %. Rate of absolute specifics length in Tilapia at the highest treatment was A = 3,53±0,06 cm, and C = 2,57±0,06 cm. The average of specific growth rate on Tilapia was A treatment with highest of 2,45 0,07%/day, and the lowest is reatment C = 1,76 ±0,05%/day. The effectiveness of the treatment of a zeolite filter can word to the limit of the study. Compared with treatment B and C, which only reached day 20.

Abstract

One of the alternative raw material that has not been widely used as a feed composition and not compete with other food needs is rumen waste. Rumen waste can be used as an alternative material for the manufacture of feed. This purpose of this study is to review the Substitution effect of adding silage of rumen contents in the artificial feed to the efficiency of feed utilization, protein efficiency ratio, the relative growth rate, and survival rate of carp juvenile. The method used in this research is experimental method. The material used is a carp juvenil with an average individual weight of 0.9 to 1 g. The experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments with three replications each. Feed given 3 times a day in the morning at 07.00, 13.00, and 16.00. Substitution silage rumen contents amounted of A (0%), B (5%), C (10%) and D (15%). Artificial feed in the form of pasta that will be given to the maintenance of carp seed. The variables measured were EPP, PER, RGR and SR. EPP values for treatments A, B, C, and D, respectively, 34.26%; 43.64%; 39.04%, and 37.47%.PER values for treatments A, B, C, and D, respectively, 0,92; 1,33; 1,22; and 1.12. RGR values for treatments A, B, C, and D, respectively, 1,65%; 2,36%; 2,03%; and 1,78% / day. SR values for all treatments A, B, C, and D is 100%. Water quality values for all the treatment that the water temperature from 23.2 to 24.4 ° C, pH 6.93 to 7.57, DO 6.98 to 7.40 mg / L, and ammonia 0.56 to 0.99 mg / L. The results show the percentage of silage substitution content different significant result (P 0.05) to SR carp juvenile.

Abstract

Aquaculture production process have started to use intensive systems, with high stocking density and minimum water usage. High density may become dangerous for the survival of fish, inhibits the growth of fish and water quality. This research was carried out to know the effect of different density on survival rates and growth of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in the recirculation system using bioball filter. This research was performed at the Laboratory of Fisheries building, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University, Semarang. And conducted for 42 days from August to October 2012. The research used 9 containers size 18 liters buckets, each bucket’s filled with 10 liters of water and flowed by filter bucket. Experimental fish was tilapia with an average initial weight of 2.9 g/fish. The research used completely randomized design with 3 treatment (density of 10, 15 and 20 fishes) and three replications. Feed used in the form of commercial feed given 3% of the biomass. The results showed that density has no significant effect on survival rate, but it shows a highly significant effect towards absolute gowth and specific gowth rate. Best density is 10 fishes with an average absolute gowth of 8.77 g, and the specific gowth rate of 3.268%/days. Use filters bioball for ammonia recirculation system can reduce the density of 20 fishes up to the sixth week of the experiment.

Abstract

Lobster air tawar (Cherax sp.) merupakan salah satu jenis lobster yang telah dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Padat penebaran merupakan salah satu faktor kunci untuk mencapai produksi yang optimal, terkait dengan budidaya intensif untuk memperoleh produksi yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh padat tebar terhadap kelangsungan hidup, konsumsi pakan dan efisiensi pakan serta pertumbuhan lobster air tawar stadia juvenil (Cherax sp.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober – Desember 2013 di Laboratorium Basah Budidaya Perairan, Jurusan Perikanan, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah Lobster Air Tawar (Cherax sp.) umur 40 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 kali ulangan yaitu perlakuan A (padat penebaran 200 ekor/m2), B (padat penebaran 250 ekor/m2), C (padat penebaran 300 ekor/m2), D (padat penebaran 350 ekor/m2). Variabel yang diukur adalah glukosa darah, tingkat konsumsi pakan, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, pertumbuhan, kelulushidupan dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh (P<0,05) padat penebaran terhadap efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan lobster air tawar. Perlakuan A (padat penebaran 200 ekor/m2)memiliki hasil tertinggi pada efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan yaitu 64,50±1,23%, pertumbuhan yaitu 1,81±0,02% dan kelulushidupan yaitu 90,28±2,41%. Sedangkan pada perlakuan D (padat penebaran 350 ekor/m2) memiliki hasil terendah yaitu efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan 41,80±0,56%, pertumbuhan 1,02±0,00% dan kelulushidupan 65,87±1,37%. Padat tebar yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan lobster air tawar stadia juvenil adalah 200 ekor/m2. Freshwater crayfish (Cherax sp.) is one type of  lobsters that has been cultivated in Indonesia. One obstacle is the lobster stocking density. Stocking density is one of the key factors to achieve optimal growth, it is associated with intensive cultivation to obtain high production. This study aimed to assess the effect of stocking density on survival rate, consumption and efficiency of feed utilization and growth rate of juvenile stadia freshwater crayfish (Cherax sp.). The research was implemented in October-December 2013 in the Wet Laboratory of Aquaculture, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Diponegoro University. Semarang. Cultivan used in this research is Freshwater Lobster (Cherax sp.) aged 40 days. Using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications that treatment A (200 ekor/m2 stocking density), B (250 lobsters/m2 stocking density), C (300 lobsters/m2 stocking density), D (300 lobsters/m2 stocking density). The variables measured were blood glucose, the level of feed intake, feed utilization efficiency, growth, survival and quality of water. The results showed there was effect (P<0.05) stocking density against survival rate, feed utilization efficiency and growth rate juvenil Freshwater Lobster (Cherax sp.). Treatment A (stocking density 200 lobsters/m2) had the highest result on the efficiency of feed utilization is 64.50±1.23% , the growth rate of which is 1.81 ± 0.02 % and the survival rate is 90.28±2.41% . While on treatment D (stocking density 350 lobsters/m2) had the lowest result efficiency of feed utilization is 41.80±0.56%, 1.02±0.00% growth and survival 65.87±1.37%. The best stocking density for growth and survival of juvenile freshwater crayfish is 250 lobsters/m2.

Abstract

Tilapia fish is a commodity freshwater economical. Tilapia relatively easily domesticated and have some lead among the rapid growth, high tolerance for the environment, and resistant to diseases. Fishery cultivation intensive use and dosage dense the weft of which is too high, impacts to decreasing growth and survival rate as well as the water quality. One of the efforts to overcome the problem is with the improvement of the agricultural system through by using charcoal filter in recirculation system. The study was conducted to determine the effect of different densities by using a charcoal filter in the recirculation system on the growth andsurvival rate of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). This study was conducted during 40 days of observation, starting from July to October 2012 at the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Fish sample used is tilapia seed (Oreochromis niloticus) with average zise 4-6 cm. Methods used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatment and 3 replication. Different dense stocking on every treatment A, B and C, are respectively 10, 15, and 20 tilapia/10 liters which are obsorved in the recirculation system using charcoal filter.
