Abstract

Breastfeeding is very effective for babies; all their nutritional needs can be met through breast milk. This service activity aims to provide information about the relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes toward exclusive breastfeeding. This method uses action research with a participatory action program approach that involves the target community group, namely pregnant women. The result of devotion was an increase in knowledge of 66% and an attitude of 60% after counseling. It can be concluded that this community service provides many benefits for the natural form of targets, namely, the increase in knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women after counseling. Changes in knowledge and attitudes are expected to change behavior in society towards exclusive breastfeeding by applying the knowledge gained in everyday life.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a serious public health problem, especially in developing countries, and can long-term impact children's physical and cognitive development. The nutritional status of pregnant women plays an important role in the growth and development of the fetus, which can affect the risk of stunting in children after birth. This study aims to analyze the influence of the nutritional status of pregnant women on the incidence of stunting in early childhood. Research Methodology: This study uses a cohort study design involving pregnant women and their children under five years old. Data were collected through interviews, anthropometric measurements, and laboratory analysis to assess the mother's nutritional status, including macro and micronutrient intake. Result: The analysis showed a significant relationship between the nutritional status of pregnant women and the incidence of stunting in children. Pregnant women with good nutritional status have a lower risk of giving birth to stunted children compared to pregnant women who are malnourished. In addition, factors such as maternal education, economic status, and access to health services also contribute to the incidence of stunting. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the importance of adequate nutrition during pregnancy to prevent stunting in early childhood. Appropriate nutritional interventions and increased awareness of the importance of nutrition during pregnancy are urgently needed to improve maternal and child health. Recommendations for public health programs and nutrition policies were also discussed to address the stunting problem.

Abstract

Breast milk is the best natural nutrition for babies and is needed during the first six months of a baby's life. Breast care and Al-Quran Murottal are methods for increasing prolactin hormone levels, and can also reduce the release of stress hormones, which are very important when mothers are breastfeeding. Quasi-experimental (quasi-experiment) with the approach used is a pre-test post test control group design, namely, research that uses a control group to be used as a comparison between pretest and posttest. The sample was obtained using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 39 postpartum mothers divided into (13 postpartum mothers in the breast care group, 13 postpartum mothers in the Murottal Al-Quran group, and 13 postpartum mothers in the control group). Prolactin hormone levels were measured before and after treatment. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and linear regression. The results showed that the breast care group had a value of p= 0.007<0.05, the Al-Quran mental group had a value of p=0.011<0.05, and the control group had a value of p=0.154>0.05. showed that the breast care group and Al-Quran murotal had an influence on prolactin hormone levels, whereas the control group had no influence on prolactin hormone levels. In conclusion, Breast Care and Murottal Al-Quran can be used to increase prolactin hormone levels in postpartum mothers so that postpartum mothers do not need to be confused about how to increase breast milk production.

Abstract

Introduction: Maternal nutrition plays a fundamental role in ensuring optimal fetal growth and development. Inadequate nutrient intake during pregnancy increases the risk of complications such as low birth weight, preterm birth, and developmental delays. This study examines the nutritional status of pregnant women and its impact on fetal development, focusing on dietary practices and maternal perceptions of nutrition. Methods: This qualitative study involved in-depth interviews with 20 pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using semi-structured interview guides and analyzed through thematic content analysis. The study focused on participants’ nutritional knowledge, dietary behaviors, access to nutritious foods, and perceptions of fetal development. Results: Findings revealed three major themes: (1) Maternal nutritional awareness, where most participants had basic knowledge of essential nutrients but lacked detailed understanding of recommended dietary intake; (2) Dietary practices and influencing factors, showing that meal patterns were often inconsistent due to socioeconomic constraints, food aversions, and cultural beliefs; and (3) Perceived impact on fetal development, with participants acknowledging the importance of nutrition but demonstrating limited ability to maintain balanced diets. Poor nutritional status was commonly associated with symptoms such as fatigue, inadequate weight gain, and concerns about fetal growth. Conclusion: The study concludes that suboptimal nutritional status among pregnant women may have a negative impact on fetal development. Improving maternal nutrition requires targeted educational interventions, enhanced access to nutritious foods, and culturally appropriate health counseling. Collaboration between healthcare providers, families, and community programs is essential to promote healthier dietary behaviors during pregnancy. Further research is recommended to explore effective strategies for improving maternal dietary adherence.
