Kata kunciobliterasi, diskolorasi gigi, saluran pulpa, bleaching internal, diskolorasi gigiManagement of maxillary left central incisor discoloration with pulp canal obliteration due to orthodontic treatment: a case reportABSTRACTIntroduction: Pulp canal obliteration often occurs in response to dental trauma. Dental trauma may arise as a result of accidents or bumps [impacts] to the teeth, as well as injuries from dental treatments including some orthodontic appliances. Orthodontic treatment, if not done properly, can be one of the triggers for biological events that affect the pulp tissue and supporting teeth. Such events have the potential to promote changes in the internal dimensions of the pulp cavity and may result in coronal discoloration. The aim of this case report was to describe the management of tooth discoloration with pulp canal obliteration through using the method of internal bleaching. Case report: A 24-year-old female was referred to the dental hospital due to the discoloration of the clinical crown of her maxillary left central incisor. The radiographic examination revealed the calcified canal and diffused periapical radiolucency. Tooth vitality (-), palpation (-), and percussion (+). The root canal treatment was determined followed by internal bleaching. The prognosis of these cases is good. Conclusion: The root canal treatment followed by the internal bleaching can provide satisfying results to manage discoloured tooth with pulp canal obliteration due to orthodontic treatment.Keywordspulp canal obliteration, internal bleaching, tooth discoloration, orthodontic trauma
