Abstract

This study aims to describe the analysis of students' misconceptions at SMAN 1 Gemuh Kendal on the matter of work and energy. This research is descriptive with a case study design. The population were all students of class X MIPA SMAN I GEMUH with a sample of class X MIPA1. Data was obtained from multiple choice test instruments in four-tier format that can diagnose students' misconceptions. The results showed that the average misconception experienced by students in the business and energy material was quite a lot because the average percentage obtained was 36.06%. The order of sub-concepts identified as misconceptions from those with the highest percentage are: Energy (38.89%); Business (38.20%); Law of Conservation of Mechanical Energy (34.26%) and Business and Energy Relations (32.885).

Abstract

This study aims to accommodate or meet students' learning needs by implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based differentiation learning in the IVA Class IVA Science subject at SDN Bendungan Semarang. This study was conducted from January 22 to February 7, 2024 with the research subjects of all IVA class students totaling 27 children. This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach through interviews, documentation and observation. The data validation technique uses time triangulation, source triangulation, technical triangulation or member checking. The data analysis technique for this study uses an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study show how differentiation learning in class IVA accommodates various learning preferences or diversity of learning styles. It is proven that students' learning styles show 33% kinesthetic, 30% auditory, and 37% visual from the results of the diagnostic assessment. Through varied learning with student-centered learning styles, it can be facilitated by the application of differentiated learning. Differentiated learning based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) is very effective and supports students to develop their conceptual and cognitive understanding in solving problems.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)-oriented science learning tools on environmental pollution material to improve critical thinking skills and environmental literacy for junior high school students. This research is development research (R&D) using a 4D model which includes the define, design, develop and disseminate stages. The tools developed consist of Teaching Modules, Student Worksheets, learning media, and evaluation instruments. Expert validation results show the device is feasible with an average score of 4.2/5. In a limited trial at SMP Negeri 2 Bojong Tegal, the implementation of the Teaching Module was 89%, 81% of students were actively involved, 87% gave positive responses. There was an increase in students' critical thinking skills (average 80.2) and environmental literacy (average 84.5). Success was supported by the application of the ESD approach with project learning, case studies, group discussions, and contextual-interactive media. Implementation of the Independent Curriculum with Teaching Modules and ATP increases student learning independence. The constraints of limited time and inadequate facilities were overcome by efficient time management and teacher creativity. Overall, the tools are valid, practical, effective, in accordance with the Independent Curriculum and 21st century learning with high-level thinking skills, environmental literacy and learning technology.
