Abstract

This study explores the influence of digital literacy, creativity, and tolerance for ambiguity on the entrepreneurial attitude of Generation Z, with growth mindset as a mediating variable. Generation Z, as digital natives, possess extensive access to technology, yet entrepreneurial attitudes among them remain uneven. Drawing from socio-cognitive and entrepreneurial mindset theories, this research employs a quantitative approach using a structured survey and partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyze responses from 137 Gen Z participants. The findings reveal that digital literacy significantly affects growth mindset, which in turn strongly influences entrepreneurial attitude. However, digital literacy, creativity, and ambiguity tolerance do not show direct significant effects on entrepreneurial attitude. Only the growth mindset mediates the relationship between digital literacy and entrepreneurial attitude significantly, highlighting its pivotal role. These insights underline the importance of fostering a growth-oriented learning environment and strengthening digital competence to encourage entrepreneurial behavior. The study contributes theoretically by expanding the mediating role of growth mindset and offers practical implications for entrepreneurship education tailored to Generation Z in the digital age.

Abstract

This research investigates an alternative structural design for the approach bridge of a pedestrian suspension bridge by replacing reinforced concrete with structural steel to address construction challenges in remote areas. The study focuses on the Lobang Baru Pedestrian Suspension Bridge in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, where the Kulur Tengah side faces significant logistical constraints including limited accessibility, frequent river flooding, and inadequate transportation infrastructure for concrete materials. Using finite element modeling analysis, two structural systems were comprehensively evaluated: the existing reinforced concrete design and a proposed steel-based alternative. The steel alternative design employs H-shaped steel sections for main girders (H350x350-12/19), diaphragms (H200x200-8/12), and cross girders (H300x300-10/15), with hollow structural sections (HSS 508x9.5) for columns and 8mm steel deck plates. Results demonstrate substantial improvements: total structural weight decreased by 72.2% from 55.92 tons to 15.55 tons, with the weight per unit length reduced from 3.43 ton/m to 0.65 ton/m. The steel design eliminated 23.79 m³ of concrete from the superstructure while requiring only a single support at the pillar block instead of dual supports at both pillar and anchor blocks, thereby reducing structural complexity and foundation loads. Although substructure concrete volume increased by 27.12 m³ due to the separate abutment construction, the overall design significantly improves constructability through prefabrication, modular assembly, and reduced vulnerability to environmental conditions. These findings validate the technical and practical feasibility of steel-based approach structures for pedestrian suspension bridges in challenging rural environments, offering a replicable solution for similar infrastructure projects across Indonesia and other developing regions facing comparable geographic and climatic constraints.

Abstract

Disasters caused by natural hazards may harm the health sector. It needs physician preparedness as a significant step in disaster risk reduction efforts and is expected to obtain an adequate response when a disaster occurs. This study aimed to determine the level of physician preparedness at the public health center (PHC) to face a tsunami caused by an earthquake based on the vulnerability zones. This research method is observational analytic with a cross-sectional design using a questionnaire developed by LIPI-UNESCO/ISDR adjusted to the core competencies and sub-competencies for disaster medicine and public health. The samples were collected in total sampling. The results show that most respondents have a preparedness index with categories almost prepare and not prepare, each of 12 respondents from a total of 42 people who participated in this study (28.56%). The physician from zone III has the best preparedness, and the physician from zone I are at least prepared for disasters. Statistical analysis using the Kruskal Wallis test obtained p-value 0.646 (p 0.05). The conclusion was found that there was no significant difference between the levels of physician preparedness at the PHC facing tsunami disasters based on the tsunami vulnerability zone in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The vaping phenomenon among Generation Z (Gen Z) women has increased in popularity as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. As a group that has grown up in the digital era, they have easier access to information via the internet and social media, which has influenced their lifestyles and choices, including when it comes to smoking and vaping. The aim of this study was to understand how the vaping phenomenon affects Gen Z women. To address this question, our research provides an overview of the vaping-related phenomena occurring among Gen Z women. We conducted a literature review of eight publications covering five years, 20192024. The data indicated phenomena such as an increase in the number of vape users among women and an increase in aggressive vape advertising. Our study also explored the factors that lead to this phenomenon occurring and how the surrounding environment plays a very large role in this issue. Data suggested that the increase in vaping among Gen Z women is primarily due to environmental and peer influence factors. Therefore, to have better prevention and intervention strategies, peer influence should be taken into account.
