Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems in Christianity that reject the implementation of fasting, differences in the concept of implementing fasting, a less firm basis in understanding fasting in the Christian concept, and wrong motives in carrying out fasting. Through qualitative research methods and descriptive analysis through literature studies, specifically the text of the Book of Joel 2:12-17. The results of the analysis show that Joel 2:12-17 calls for fasting with the first principle: following the word of God because God is merciful and merciful, God is long-suffering and abundant in faithfulness. Second, turn to God with all your heart, cry and moan. Third, tear the heart and Fourth humble yourself. Thus there is a restoration of the relationship between man and God and a focus on God's will, all of which straighten out the wrong practice of fasting.

Abstract

This article explores the close relationship between ecumenical principles and social justice based on the teachings of Micah 6:8. In Indonesia’s diverse context, issues such as religious discrimination, legal injustice, social inequality, and abuse of power are significant barriers to achieving a just and prosperous society. Using a descriptive and literature-based approach, this study examines God’s demands on His people—to act justly, love faithfulness, and walk humbly with Him. These three values serve as the moral and spiritual foundation for building a society grounded in justice and equality. The prophet Micah emphasizes that God is the source of true justice and calls His people to embody this character in everyday life. The ecumenical movement is seen as a strategic means of uniting Christians across denominations to advocate for social justice, peace, and collective well-being. The article asserts that social justice is not merely a moral responsibility but a divine calling that must be realized collectively by all segments of society. By adopting the values taught in the Book of Micah, churches and believers can serve as agents of transformation, working toward a socially just and harmonious society in accordance with God's will.

Abstract

Abstract

Maintaining harmony in a multicultural society is a must for believers through interfaith dialogue so that potential religious conflicts do not occur. So that interfaith tolerance can continue to be closely intertwined. Although it is certainly not easy to live together in a multi-tennis community environment because discrimination and exclusivity are still challenges in establishing effective dialogue. Through the book of Acts 17:22-34 are found Paul's ways of effectively dialogue with the philosophers in Athens as an approach to interfaith communication. With the aim of allowing everyone who has a different understanding to respect differences, and is not always oriented towards reaching an agreement. The author uses a qualitative method through a hermeneutic approach to texts and literature studies. The results of the analysis of interreligious dialogue based on the Bible study of Acts 17: 22-34 found that three approaches to dialogue are Dialogue about God: God is the Creator of the Universe, dialogue about the origin of human beings and about the last day to be a bridge and relevant to use.
