Abstract

Diabetics militus is a group of metabolic diseases with hyperglichemic that is caused by abnormality insulin secretion, insulin works, or both of them. One of alternative for decreasing sugar levels is yam bean and tomato juices consumption. The aim of the research is to exposed the influence of yam bean juice and tomato juice againts sugar levels of diabetics militus type 2. This research is experimental study with pretes-posttest with control group design. We used purposive sampling with 18 respondenses. The primary data are intake interview, IMT measurement, and blood sugar levels. And the secondary data are the data resources about diabetics militus. Data are analyzed statically by T-test two mean differences dependent and independent with error degree 5%. The result showed that the avarage of sugar blood levels before and after intervension respectively is 287,6 mg/dl and 220,8 mg/dl. There was the significant difference between blood sugar levels before and after group cases (p<0,05). The avarages of blood sugar levels before and after intervension on control’s group respectively are 317,8 mg/dl and 331,9 mg/dl. There was no significant difference of blood sugar levels in the begining and final of control’s group (p<0,05). There was an influence of yam bean juice and tomato juice supply againts blood sugar levels at a time (p<0,05). This study is expected to suggest the people with diabetes mellitus to consume yam bean and tomato juice as an alternative way to control or to decrease blood level sugar.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the world. One of the causes is hypercholesterolemia. The management of hypercholesterolemia can be done through non-pharmacological efforts by consuming hypocholesterolemic foods, including jicama and probiotic drinks. Probiotic and jicama drinks contain active compounds inulin and lactic acid bacteria which can control total cholesterol levels.Objectives: to determine the effectiveness of jicama yogurt probiotics on lipid profile and trygliceride levels of hypercholesterolemic employees of the Campus I Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Padang.Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental study with pre-posttest design. The sample was 18 people from the Campus I Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Padang with hypercholesterolemia, the study was conducted in January - November 2019. Respondents were given 120 ml of jicama yogurt probiotic for 14 days. Analysis using the dependent t-test.Results: The results showed that the average initial total cholesterol level was 218.33 mg/dL, HDL 51.11 mg/dL, LDL 145.11 mg/dL, triglycerides 111.39 mg/dL and the final total cholesterol level was 217.78 mg/dL, HDL 56.67 mg/dL, LDL 139.56 mg/dL, Triglycerides 109.22 mg/dL. The average reduction in total cholesterol levels in the group was 0.56 mg/dL, LDL was 5.56 mg/dL, triglycerides 2.17 mg/dL, an average increase in HDL levels was 5.56 mg/dL. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant difference between HDL levels before and after intervention (p 0.05).Conclusion: Jicama yogurt probiotics are more effective in positively modifying the lipid profile levels. Jicama yogurt probiotic can be used as an alternative complementary therapy for hypercholesterolemic sufferers.KEYWORDS: Hypercholesterolemia; jicama; Lipid profile; probiotics

Abstract

One of the factors that support an athlete's success in a match includes the compatibility of somatotype with the sport. This study aimed to determine the correlation between dietary habits and physical activity with the somatotype of game sports athletes. The design is a cross-sectional study. The study was held from February 2019 until May 2020. Sampling is using comprehensive selection which the samples amounted to 37 athletes. Anthropometric measurements carried out research data collection, interviews using the SQ-FFQ form, and Baecke physical activity scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The results showed that most soccer athletes (94.1%) and all takraw athletes (100%) have unsuitable somatotype categories, most soccer athletes (82.4%), and all takraw athletes (100%) have severe physical activity. Most soccer athletes (76.5%) and more than half of takraw athletes (55%) have poor dietary habits. The average somatotype of respondents is ectomorph, with the body's unique characteristics that tend to be thin. When intake is less than intake requirements, strenuous physical activity can cause the body to grow to be light. Respondents are advised to consume information as intake requirements to adjust the training scheme by adding weight training to the forming of athlete's muscle mass and to place nutritionists in PPLP.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of probiotic dragon fruit juice yogurt on the levels of profil lipids in hypercholesterolemic patients. The research design was quasi-experimental with a pre-post test design. The total sample was 30 people, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out for 21 days by recalling 3 x 24 hours of laboratory examination of profil lipid levels (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides). Statistical tests used Paired and Independent T-Tests. Based on the results of the study, there was a significant difference in total cholesterol levels at the beginning and end of the treatment sample (p 0.05), and there was a significant difference in triglyceride levels at the beginning and end of the treatment sample (p 0.05). There was no difference in the initial HDL and LDL levels with the final HDL and LDL levels of the treatment samples (p 0.05). There was no significant difference in the initial profillipid and triglyceride levels compared to the final control samples (p 0.05). There was no significant difference in the final prolipid and triglyceride levels between the treatment samples and the control samples (p 0.05). The research concluded that dragon fruit juice yogurt can reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels in sufferers of hypercholesterolemia.  Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian probiotik yoghurt sari buah naga terhadap kadar profil lipid penderita hiperkolesterolemia. Desain penelitian adalah quasi eksperimental with pre-post test design. Total sampel 30 orang dewasa, dipilih  menggunakan purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan selama 21 hari. Data konsumsi makanan diambil dengan melakukan recall 3 x 24 jam. Pemeriksaan laboratorium kadar profil lipid (kolesterol total, HDL, LDL, dan trigliserida) dilakukan sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah Paired dan Independent T-Test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna kadar kolesterol total  awal  dan akhir sampel  perlakuan (p 0,05), serta terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna  kadar trigliserida  awal dan akhir  sampel perlakuan  (p 0,05).  Tidak terdapat perbedaan kadar HDL dan LDL awal dengan HDL dan LDL akhir sampel perlakuan  (p 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna kadar profil lipid awal dengan akhir sampel kontrol  (p 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna kadar profil lipid akhir sampel perlakuan  dengan sampel kontrol  (p 0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa yoghurt sari buah naga dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida penderita hiperkolesterolemia.

Abstract

Coronary heart disease is caused by plaque that accumulates in the coronary arteries, thereby disrupting blood flow to the heart due to consumption of food that is not balanced between intake of saturated and unsaturated fats and fiber. This study aims to determine the picture of saturated fat, unsaturated fat and fiber intake in people with coronary heart disease. This research is descriptive with a cross sectional study design. This research was conducted at Sungai Dareh Regional Hospital in August 2021-June 2022 with a sample size of 38 people. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling. Research results: 65.8% of respondents had a high saturated fat intake, an average of 12.16%, with bad food consumption habits, the highest frequency was often > 2x/week, 89.5% of respondents had a low unsaturated fat intake. , an average of 5.64%, with the type of food habits that are not good, the highest frequency is rarely ≤ 1×/week, and almost all (94.7%) respondents have less fiber intake with an average of 16.1, with the type food consumption habits are not good, the highest frequency is rarely ≤ 1×/day. Conclusion: Coronary heart disease sufferers at Sungai Dareh Regional Hospital show unhealthy eating patterns with high intake of saturated fat and low intake of unsaturated fat and fiber. It is recommended that the public, especially CHD sufferers, reduce their consumption of saturated fats from foods that contain lots of palm oil and coconut milk and increase their consumption of foods that are sources of unsaturated fats from nuts and vegetable protein.

Abstract

An athlete's physical fitness is closely related to his nutritional intake. In 2019, it was found that as many as 27% of athletes in the West Sumatra DISPORA Sports Talent UPTD were in the unfit category. This study aims to analyze the intake of macro and micronutrients on the physical fitness of athletes at the UPTD Sports Talent DISPORA West Sumatra in 2022. The study design was cross-sectional. The population is 140 athletes with a sample of 58 athletes. Sampling using Proportional Random Sampling. Intake data were collected through interviews with the food recall and physical fitness using the bleep test. Data analysis used the chi-square test and logistic regression test. The results of this study indicate that 37.9% of athletes are in the unfit category. Athletes' intake of nutrients that are less than their needs, namely energy (15.5%), protein (8.6%), fat (10.3%), carbohydrates (17.2%), iron (55.2%) vitamins B12 (12.2%), and vitamin C (10.3%). There is no significant relationship between the intake of energy, protein, vitamin B12 and vitamin C with physical fitness, but there is a significant relationship between the intake of fat, carbohydrates and iron with physical fitness. The variable that most affects physical fitness is iron intake. Suggested to increase intake so that athletes' achievements can increase. Suggested to increase intake so that athletes' achievements can increase. Abstrak: Kebugaran jasmani seorang atlet berkaitan erat dengan asupan gizinya. Pada tahun 2019, diketahui bahwa sebanyak 27 % atlet di UPTD Kebakatan Olahraga DISPORA Sumatera Barat berada pada kategori tidak bugar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis asupan zat gizi makro dan mikro terhadap kebugaran jasmani atlet di UPTD Kebakatan Olahraga DISPORA Sumatera Barat tahun 2022. Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional. Populasi berjumlah 140 atlet dengan jumlah sampel 58 atlet. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Proportional Random Sampling. Pengambilan data asupan memalui wawancara dengan metode food recall 2x24 jam dan kebugaran jasmani menggunakan bleep test. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square dan uji regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 37,9 % atlet berada dalam kategori tidak bugar. Asupan zat gizi atlet yang kurang dari kebutuhannya yaitu energi (15,5 %), protein (8,6 %), lemak (10,3 %), karbohidrat (17,2 %), zat besi(55,2 %) vitamin B12 (12,2 %), dan vitamin C (10,3 %). Tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara asupan energi, protein, vitamin B12 dan vitamin C dengan kebugaran jasmani, namun ada hubungan bermakna antara asupan lemak, karbohidrat dan zat besi dengan kebugaran jasmani.Variabel yang paling mempengaruhi kebugaran jasmani adalah asupan zat besi. Diharapkan agar atlet lebih memperhatikan asupan agar prestasi atlet dapat meningkat.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang:  Penyakit kardiovaskular merupakan penyebab kematian nomor satu di dunia dengan faktor risikonya yaitu profil lipid dalam batas yang tidak normal.Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian probiotik yoghurt sari buah naga terhadap kadar profil lipid penderita dislipidemia pada pegawai Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang Kampus I dan II.Metode: Desain penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen with pre-post test design, dengan membandingkan kadar lipid profile sebelum dengan setelah diberikan perlakuan. Total sampel berjumlah 30 orang, dipilih dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan selama 21 hari, dengan pemberian yoghurt sebanyak 1 botol per hari, disiang hari, melakukan recall, pengisian kuesioner dari pemeriksaan laboratorium profil lipid (Cholesterol, HDL, LDH and triglyceride). Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah T-Test dependent dan independent.Hasil: Dari hasil penelitian terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada kadar kolesterol total responden awal dan akhir sampel perlakuan (p < 0,05), dan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada kadar trigliserida responden awal dan akhir sampel perlakuan  (p < 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna kadar lipid profile awal dengan akhir sampel kontrol  (p > 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna kadar lipid profile akhir sampel perlakuan  dengan  sampel kontrol  (p > 0,05). Didapatkan kandungan zat gizi vitamin B2, B3, B6, B7, C dan serat dalam 100 mg yoghurt sari buah naga, yang beberapa diantaranya memiliki hubungan dengan perubahan kadar lipid profile.Kesimpulan: Disarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk melanjutkan penelitian dengan jumlah sampel yang lebih banyak dan uji kandungan zat aktif produk sehingga dapat dijadikan salah satu minuman alternatif untuk penderita dislipidemia. Kata Kunci: dislipidemia, yoghurt, sari buah naga  ABSTRACTBackground: Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the world with a risk factor, namely a lipid profile within abnormal limits.Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving dragon fruit yoghurt probiotics on the profile of dyslipidemia sufferers in the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Padang Campus I and II.       Methods: The research design was a quasi-experimental with pre-post test design, by comparing the levels of lipid profile before and after being given treatment. The total sample size is 30 people, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out for 21 days, by giving 1 bottle of yoghurt per day, during day by recalling and filling out questionnaires from laboratory tests (lipid profile). The statistical test used is T-Test dependent and independent.      Results: From the results of the study, there was a significant difference in the total cholesterol levels of the initial and final respondents of the treatment sample (p < 0.05), and there was a significant difference in the triglyceride levels of the initial and final respondents of the treatment sample (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the initial and final profile of the control sample (p > 0.05). There was no significant difference in the final profile of the treatment sample with the control sample (p > 0.05). It was found that the nutritional content of vitamins B2, B3, B6, B7, and C and fiber in 100 mg of dragon fruit juice yoghurt, some of which have a relationship with changes in lipid profile levels.      Conclusions: It is recommended that further researchers continue research with a larger number of samples and test the product's active substance content so that it can be used as an alternative drink for people with dyslipidemia. Keywords: dyslipidemia, yoghurt, dragon fruit juiceReceived: 23 Jan 2025; Revised: 06 Sep 2024; Accepted: 24 Jan 2025; Available online: 30 Mar 2025; Published: 30 Mar 2025

Abstract

Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan penyakit degeneratif yang mengakibatkan terjadinya Penyakit Jantung Koroner yang dapat menyebabkan kematian akibat dari penyumbatan pembuluh darah.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian jus kombinasi tomat dan terong belanda terhadap kadar kolesterol total darah pasien Hiperkolesterolemia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Nanggalo Kota Padang tahun 2019. Pada penelitian terdapat 16 orang responden yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu 8 responden kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan jus kombinasi tomat dan terong belanda sebanyak 300 ml selama 14 hari, 8 responden kelompok kontrol yang diberikan jus tomat sebanyak 300 ml selama 14 hari Data diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji t beda dua rata- rata dependen dan uji t independen. Hasil analisa dengan uji-t beda dua mean dependen menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang bermakna terhadap pemberian jus kombinasi tomat dan terong belanda dengan rata-rata hasil penurunan 31,25 mg/dl. Diharapkan kepada peneliti yang ingin menggunakan buah tomat dan terong belanda harus memperhatikan rasa dari produk penelitian agar tidak terlau asam sehingga pemberian produk terhadap responden tidak mengalami komplikasi lainnya.

Abstract

Honey is a naturally sweet liquid produced by bees from flower nectar, which varies in quality and flavonoid content due to the food source, environment and the bees that produce it. This study aims to evaluate the quality and flavonoid content of honey from the Riau Forest of Indonesia. Quality testing was conducted in accordance with SNI 8664:2018 with sensory, physical, chemical and microbiological parameters. Flavonoid testing was carried out qualitatively using HPLC. The test results showed that the sensory profile of honey was in accordance with the standard, sweet taste, distinctive aroma, brown colour and thick shape. Chemical parameters obtained values of moisture content of 21.92%, diastase enzyme 3.13 DN and HMF 4.14 mg/kg have met the requirements. However, the reducing sugar of 54.1% is still below the requirement. Heavy metal parameters (Pb, Cd, As and Hg) were not detected and microbiological ALT 3.0 x 10 and yeast mould <10 colonies/gr that have met. Furthermore, the results of flavonoid qualitative tests detected several types including Luteolin, Mangiferin, Smiglanin, maltol, isoflavones, quercetin, Cnidimol C, Norcimifungin, Apigenin, Methyl ophiopogonanone B, Pectolinarigenin, Kusenol C, 3,5,6-trihydroxy-4',7-dimetoxyflavone and Lupinifoline. The conclusion of this study shows that honey from Riau forests fulfils most of the quality requirements and has a diverse flavonoid content.
