Abstract

This paper proposes a system for controlling bulbs and electrical appliances in order to imitate the availability of owner in a house. The designed system is able to switch ON and OFF the equipments randomly for treating the availability the owners in their houses. The system generates a number randomly every 15 minutes. Each number associated with bulb or electrical device in the controlling list. The electrical devices will be ON or OFF based on specific duration times. The system is realized using an Arduino board, an RTC, power supply unit, and interface circuit of Arduino and electrical devices. The designed system has been tested for 5 consecutive days normalized to 2 hour normal time on the control device and house miniature. The miniature is used to mimic condition the real house. Sistem dirancang untuk mengontrol penyalaan beberapa lampu dan perangkat elektronik secara acak. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk menimbulkan kesan bahwa rumah yang ditinggalkan seakan-akan ada penhuninya. Sistem keamanan ini bekerja dengan cara membangkitkan sebuah bilangan acak setiap 15 menit. Setiap bilangan acak yang dibangkitkan mengacu kepada peralatan listrik yang dikontrol. Peralatan listrik rumah yang telah nyala akan padam ketika lamanya waktu yang ditetapkan tercapai. Sistem ini dirancang terdiri dari Arduino, catu daya, RTC dan interface perantara dengan perlatan listrik. Sistem telah diuji selama 5 hari waktu normalisasi terhadap sistem kontrolnya dan sistem miniatur rumah. Miniatur rumah dibuat untuk mewakili kondisi rumah yang sebenarnya. Konsumsi daya listrik perhari dari sistem yang dibuat adalah 0,42 kWh.Kata Kunci : Arduino, Bilangan Acak,  Peralatan Listrik, Sistem Kontrol, Keamanan Rumah

Abstract

This paper discusses the recognition of skin abnormalities by investigating the images using high-level statistics and edge detection. Six images of skin diseases were analyzed using several statistical parameters, including high-level moments such as skewness and kurtosis. In comparison, some images from other categories such as animal, architecture, art, vehicle, food, people, and scenery have been analyzed as well. The results were compared to skin disease images. It is expected that the general pattern of statistical parameters can distinguish skin images against images from other categories. MatLab is used as a medium to calculate the values of statistical parameters. The mean and median of the skin disease image are much larger. Meanwhile, the standard deviation is the smallest compared to other categorical images. Almost all the analyzed images close to symmetry. Nearly all images category are distributed more leaning to the left, except for the images of the art category, which is slightly more leaning to the right. Moreover, the edge detection process has been done using the Sobel algorithm. The result, however, cannot clearly distinguish a skin's abnormality. This difficulty is because of the lack of accuracy in selection the intensity.
