Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding of the community of Pahlawan village fishermen as a service partner on the basic concept of international trade. The method of devotion is done by (1) observes; (2) counselling/socialization lectures; and (3) evaluation. The results of the devotion showed that the group of fishermen as participants/forums have shown enthusiasm in attendance, receiving information as an effort to add knowledge and insight from the method of counselling lectures/socialization of materials that have been conducted by the dedicated team. The team's recommendation for further community service activities after this stage is to perform the same methods with different themes such as differences in the number of fishermen's catches before and during the Covid-19 pandemic that can affect the export performance of fishery subsectors. To return to become additional information knowledge and insight in the community of the Pahlawan village fishermen group.

Abstract

Karena tingkat efisiensi usaha tani kopi Sumatera Utara yang rendah, pertumbuhan ekspor kopi arabika Sumatera Utara mengalami penurunan. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis SWOT untuk menentukan kekuatan dan kelemahan perusahaan eksportir kopi arabika di Sumatera Utara, faktor lingkungan eksternal untuk menentukan peluang dan ancaman, dan untuk merumuskan strategi yang dapat diterapkan perusahaan sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan perusahaan tersebut.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor internal yang menjadi kekuatan ekspor kopi arabika, seperti kondisi fisik dan kualitas kopi arabika, waktu pengiriman, dan kemungkinan eksportir menjangkau negara importir. Faktor internal yang menjadi kelemahan ekspor adalah promosi kopi arabika, jumlah modal eksportir, dan instruksi tentang sertifikat kualitas. Faktor-faktor eksternal, termasuk izin ekspor, konsumen tetap yang mengonsumsi kopi arabika, kegagalan panen di negara pesaing pengekspor kopi arabika, harga jual kopi arabika, dan permintaan di luar negeri, memberikan peluang dan ancaman untuk ekspor kopi arabika.. Faktor-faktor ini termasuk tarif ekspor, peran pemerintah, pesaing negara produsen kopi arabika, dan dampak iklim.Pengembangan ekspor kopi arabika dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara, seperti mempertahankan konsumen tetap, menggunakan surat izin untuk memudahkan eksportir menjangkau negara importir, mengoptimalkan permintaan konsumen tetap, meningkatkan promosi, meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas kopi arabika, bekerja sama dengan lembaga terkait, meningkatkan peran pemerintah dalam promosi, dan memberikan bantuan permodalan.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of exports, imports, and exchange rates on Indonesia's economic growth during the 2014–2023 period. The study employs a multiple linear regression approach using SPSS version 26 for data analysis. The findings reveal that exports, imports, and exchange rates collectively exert a significant impact on economic growth. Individually, exports contribute positively and significantly, while both imports and exchange rates show a significant negative effect on Indonesia’s GDP. These outcomes align with Keynesian economic theory, which emphasizes exports as a critical component in boosting aggregate demand and stimulating growth. Meanwhile, the negative influence of imports and exchange rates supports the Heckscher-Ohlin model and the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) theory, indicating that excessive reliance on imports and currency depreciation can undermine domestic economic performance. This study, therefore, highlights the importance of robust trade policies and stable exchange rates to foster sustainable national economic growth.
