Abstract

Current control scheme is commonly used in high voltage direct current (HVDC) to transmit power delivery. This scheme is done by adjusting trigger angle to regulate direct current (DC) in thyristor devices. The adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) control is widely applied for start and fault operation. But, solution for transient response of DC current in HVDC system is not clearly studied before. In this paper, supplementary control (SC) based on ANFIS is proposed to improve the transient response of the current. The SC control is designed by learning-processes and SC parameters are obtained by data-training automatically. For current reference at 1.05 pu and up-ramp at 20 pu/s, maximum overshoot is achieved at 5.12% and 7.72% for the SC and proportional integral controller (PIC), respectively. When the up-ramp is increased to 28 pu/s, the maximum overshoot is achieved at 10.01% for the SC. While, the peak overshoot for the PIC is 14.28%.

Abstract

Power generating units should be built closed to load centers according to electric power company regulation. These units are generally small in capacity, so that makes power transfer among inter- and outer-areas is easier to be done. This study aims to improve dynamic stability of a Micro Hydro Power Plant (MHPP) on perspective of 5% load increased in Diesel Power Plant (DPP). The DPP is equipped by an ANFIS-based Power System Stabilizer (PSS) in this scheme. Two inputs with Gauss2mf membership function (MF) type and 5-number of the each MF are used to implement the ANFIS model. Simulation results show that overshoot of MHPP power angle deviation is reduced to the values of 0.023, 0.0138 and 0.0132°, for the DPP without PSS, conventional and ANFIS PSS, respectively.  Also, reduction in setting time is achieved at times >6, 4.051 and 3.553 s. It is shown that the ANFIS PSS is more effective to enhance the dynamic stability compared to other PSS

Abstract

One of the renewable energy power plants whose construction is very massive is the solar power plant (PLTS) because it can be built anywhere in Indonesia. The type of PLTS with cheap investment is the on-grid system. This study aims to analyze the performance of the 600 Wp on-grid PLTS based on data loggers. Data logger is a data recording system designed using an Arduino Nano microcontroller equipped with sensors such as a solar radiation sensor (PYR20), temperature and humidity sensor (DHT22), PV module temperature sensor (DS18B20), DC voltage sensor, DC current sensor (ACS712), real time clock (DS3231), AC digital wattmeter module (PZEM-004T 10 A) and Micro SD Card Mini to store measurement data. The data logger is set to store measurement data every 5 minutes. The results of sensor measurements after calibration have an average measurement error of 5.20%, 0.56%, and 0.68% for the PYR20 irradiance sensor, 50 V range DC voltage sensor, and DC current sensor (ACS712). Based on the results of data logger recording, the 600 Wp on-grid PLTS system has a PV module efficiency in the range of 2.45 - 19.2% with an average of 8.60%, and the inverter (smart microgrid inverter) has an average efficiency of 89.40%.
