Abstract

The transition from adolescents to adult challenges is different from the challenges of life in the previous development process. Towards the age of 25, individuals face a new life such as work, marital status, and mindset. The quarter-life crisis is a phenomenon that is common in individuals aged 20-30 years old. The crisis of a quarter of a century, that's how the term counts with individuals who attend 25 years. The quarter-life crisis experiences’ by individuals grew up. This research is descriptive quantitative research. The subjects in this study consist of 236 adults in Pekanbaru who attended for 20-30 years. The retrieval of data in this study uses the quarter-life crisis scale. The results showed that the early adult individual quarter-life crisis in Pekanbaru reached 43.22%, increasing the high category of 27.97%. The results showed the fact that factors affecting the quarterly life crisis estimated as gender, status, and occupation. The conclusions of this study show that adults in Pekanbaru who spend a quarter of life issued by women, are single and do not have jobs.

Abstract

Cultural differences experienced by Thailand Selatan (Patani) students with Indonesian culture can cause cultural shock to Patani students. Culture shock is a reaction of individual discomfort when entering a new environment. One of the strategies in reducing culture shock is to get social support. This research examines whether there is a correlation between social support and culture shock in Patani students at the Islamic University of Riau. The research method used is quantitative research. Data collection was carried out using a scale of culture shock and social support scale. Pearson product-moment analysis was used to test the proposed hypothesis. Participants numbered 52 people using saturated sample techniques. The results showed that a negative and significant relationship between social support and culture shock in Patani students at the Islamic University of Riau with the r = -0,276 with p 0,024 (p< 0,05). The conclusion from this study shows that the higher the social support, the lower the culture shock. The culture shock was predicted by social support of 7.6%.

Abstract

Perkembangan organisasi yang sangat pesat saat ini menimbulkan banyak masalah yang seharusnya diselesaikan. Salah satu langkah dalam mempersiapkan hal tersebut sebuah organisasi harus memperhatikan kualitas peningkatan Sumber Daya Manusia. Hal tersebut menjadi salah satu pendukung dalam keberhasilan sebuah organisasi. Universitas merupakan sebuah organisasi yang memberikan pelayanan dalam bidang pendidikan. Dalam menunjang pelayanan, Univesitas harus memiliki sumber daya manusia yang berkualifikasi sesuai. Salah satu kemampuan sumber daya manusia yang harus dikuasai dengan baik adalah bagaimana menjadikan tempat kerja sebagai milik sendiri, dan memiliki rasa keikutsertaan dalam segala kegaitan untuk mencapai tujuan. Serta peran para pemimpin dalam memberikan arahan terhadap sumber daya manusia juga menjadi hal yang penting untuk diterapkan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hubungan antara kohesivitas kelompok terhadap kepemimpinan karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian survey dengan skala penelitian. Populasi penelitian merupakan karyawan Universitas Islam Riau. Teknik pengambilan sampel digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu quota random sampling. Variabel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari variabel tergantung (Kohesivitas Kelompok) dan variabel bebas (Kepemimpinan). Penelitian menggunakan Skala adapatasi dari Forsyt (2000) untuk aspek kohesivitas dan Skala Kepemimpinan. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh terdapatnya hubungan yang signifikan dari kepemimpinan karyawan dengan kohisivitas kelompok yang dimiliki oleh karyawan Universitas Islam Riau.

Abstract

Profesor merupakan salah satu bentuk kesuksesan dalam bidang pendidikan. Banyak cerita kesuksesan yang berawal dari pengalaman hidup yang sulit. Adversity quotient merupakan suatu kemampuan individu untuk dapat bertahan dalam menghadapi segala macam kesulitan sampai menemukan jalan keluar, memecahkan berbagai macam permasalahan, menghadapi hambatan dan rintangan dengan mengubah cara berfikir dan sikap terhadap sebuah kesulitan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana adversity quotient pada profesor. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang profesor yang ada di Universitas Islam Riau (UIR). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling dan pendekatan biographical life history. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua subjek dalam penelitian ini memiliki kontrol, tanggung jawab, jangkauan, dan daya tahan terhadap hambatan kehidupan dan pendidikan yang mereka hadapi.

Abstract

Humans are social creatures who need other people in their lives. Among teenagers and adults having a friend or close friend is very supportive of individual survival. Individuals will do their best for their social environment and feel attached, this is because of the need to belong in friendly relationships. The purpose of this study was to see whether there was a significant relationship between Need to belong and the Quality of Friendship. The subjects of this research are the millennial generation and the gadget generation in the city of Pekanbaru, amounting to 300 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The data collection method uses the Need to Belong scale compiled by Leary, et al (2013) which amounted to 10 items and the Friendship Quality scale adapted from Prayona (2017) which amounted to 21 items. Data analysis using Spearman correlation where the results show a significant correlation coefficient with a value of 0.353 (p < 0.01). From these results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between need to belong and the quality of friendship.

Abstract

Generation z is also known as the gadget generation. This generation lives side by side with the development of gadgets and social media. In this digital age, the use of social media is a way of life. Social media is unavoidable and is expected to have an effect on its users, the general picture of the current literature is missing. Therefore, the aim of this systematic is to summarize research on the impact of social media on fear of being out of date among Generation Z. Our systematic search on the Science and Scopus webs yielded 30 eligible articles. Gen z or generation z born between 1997 and 2003 (what), indicates that they will be between 18 and 24 in 2021. The use of social media and FOMO by generation z can be a negative and positive influence depending on their position and capacity. A negative example is that generation z is always desirable. They are shown that Generation Z is a tech-savvy generation. Based on these systematic results, it shows that the habit of using one of the social media has an impact on the fear of being left behind in generation z. The use of social media cannot be separated from the life of Generation Z. So FOMO is one of the characteristics of generation z that distinguishes it from other generations. Fomo is commonly used in marketing, industry, and lifestyle, where generation z is the main subject.

Abstract

Kebersyukuran merupakan aspek psikologi positif yang penting untuk meningkatkan kebahagian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan antara kebersyukuran ibu yang bekerja dan ibu rumah tangga. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan satu alat ukur yaitu The Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6) yang disusun oleh McCullough, Emmons, dan Tsang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 135 orang yang terdiri dari 75 orang ibu yang bekerja dan 60 orang ibu rumah tangga (IRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan kebersyukuran antara ibu yang bekerja dan ibu rumah tangga dengan nilai signifikansi 0.736 artinya Ibu bekerja dan ibu rumah tangga memiliki tingkat kebersyukuran yang sama, yang dominan berada pada kategori sedang. Kata kunci:
