Analisis Pola Produktivitas Penulis Artikel Bidang Perpustakaan Dan Informasi Di Indonesia : Suatu Kajian Bibliometrika Wahyudi, Agus; Kustiyo, Aziz; Basuki, Sulistyo

This study examines the productivity of the authors in the field of library and information science in Indonesia during the year of 2001-2010 by using Lotka’s law. The population of this study are all kinds of scientific articles contained in the journal library and information science in which the journal is registered in PDII-LIPI databases and published between the years 2001 to 2010. Assessment author's participation was done by using 'straight count'. The sampling technique used is saturated sample. Journals in accordance with the criteria of research as much as 24, 1085 articles written by 1018 authors. Due to this research used 'straight count' only 547 authors counted. Obtained the results of the calculation of the value of n worth 1,92 and C 0,6172. The finding conclude, in the year 2001-2010 the number of certain writers that contribute one article is 61.72% of the total number of authors. Test results showed that the value Dmaks smaller than the critical value, this means that the productivity distribution author library and information science in Indonesia year of 2001-2010 in accordance with the argument of Lotka’s law. It is known that the productive author works as a lecturer/librarians derived from the college environment.Keywords: Library and Information Science, Bibliometrics, Lotka’s Law

Directory of Indonesianist is one of the reference collections that a library must provide. Only a few libraries provide it. The second fact is the directory of Indonesianist is an old publication that never has a new version. This directory is printed material and limited edition, it makes the library-user difficult to find the Indonesianist data. Until this time, there is no one of directory of Indonesianist administered online. This research purposed to build an online web based directory of Indonesianist database by using SLiMS Cendana. This research has five steps: (1) preliminary investigation; (2) choosing the sample of Indonesianist data and publication using googlescholar, scholarometer and googlebooks; (3) studying SLiMS, (4) making a prototipe based on study about SLiMS in the previous step; (5) examination of the recall and precision of the "search engine" of the directory of Indonesianist database that has been created. The making of the application uses prototyping method by modifying SLiMS, the process prototyping using flowchart and data flow diagram (DFD), and the data prototyping using entity relationship diagram (ERD). The Indonesianists data can be presented by name, domicile, social sciences, topics research, areas of research, background of education, research titles, titles of journals, and the office where Indonesianis worked. This reserach succeed to build an online database directory Indonesianists can used in accordance with library-user needs.Keyword: directory, Indonesianist, database, recall, precision, SLiMS cendana

Many research organization have been developing institutional repositories (IRs) to increase their researches impact, but in Indonesia there is only one research organization’s IR i.e. Indonesian Institute of Sciences (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia/LIPI) Institutional Repository. Therefore, the study of this IRs is very important to encourage research organizations to develop their IRs. This study analyzed the quality and self-archiving facilities of LIPI and world best IRs website based on Webometrics ranking. The method used web analysis on content, features and policies. The result showed that best quality IRs has a mandatory regulations to deposit researcher’s scientific work as well as a clear policy on the type of content, copyrights, and access. These IRs also provide informative features and services to supporting researcher’s self-archiving as well as facilitating public to access the web.

Profesi didefinisikan sebagai kelompok lapangan kerja yang khususmelaksanakan kegiatan yang memerlukan keterampilan dan keahlian tinggi guna memenuhi kebutuhan yang rumit dari manusia, di dalamnya diperlukan adanya cara yang benar akan keterampilan dan keahlian tinggi, hanya dapat dicapai dengan adanya penguasaan pengetahuan dengan ruang lingkup yang luas, mencakup sifat manusia, kecenderungan sejarah dan lingkungan hidupnya; serta adanya disiplin etika yang dikembangkan dan diterapkan oleh kelompok anggota yang menyandang profesi tersebut. Sebagaimana profesi lain, pustakawan juga punya keahlian khusus di bidang kepustakawanan. Pustakawan sering disebutprofesional informasi yaitu seseorang yang mengumpulkan, mencatat,mengorganisasi, menyimpan, melestarikan, menemubalik serta mencarikan informasi tercetak atau digital. Istilah profesional informasi juga digunakan untuk mendeskripsi profesi serupa seperti arsiparis, manajer informasi, spesialis sistem informasi dan manajer rekod (arsip dinamis). Profesional informasi tersebut bekerja di berbagai lembaga swasta, publik dan pergruan tinggi. Pustakawan sebagai seorang profesional memiliki mentalitas dan kredibilitas yang dapat diandalkan dalam keahliannya seperti penelusuran informasi serta terpercayakan karena salah satu kode etik pustakawan menyatakan bahwa pustakawan menjaga kerahasiaan informasi yang dicari pemakainya.Kata Kunci: Mentalitas, Kredibilitas, Profesional Informasi, Pustakawan
