Abstract

Abstract

Technological developments require changes and adjustments in various sectors, one of which is digitalization. The hydram pump is an appropriate technology for saving energy, it is simple in manufacture and installation, suitable for the development on areas with limited sources of electrical energy or fuel. Hydram pumps are still being reserchead and developed to obtain optimal models and installations. A faster and more accurate testing of hydram pumps is needed to support the research and development. Arduino is an open source microcontroller platform with a modular system that is easy to assemble and operate together with the embedding of certain sensors. In this study, Arduino programming was carried out to read and display the readings of two pressure sensor transducer and two flow meter sensors for testing on an inch diameter of hydram pump installation model, the sensor readings were way much faster then the test method using a pressure gauge and measuring cup. The percentage of the reading error on the discharge sensor is 5%

Abstract

The peeling machine for peanut shells, which has limitations and achieves a peeling capacity of only 85%, requires optimization. To this end, the friction, pressure, and gravity involved are analyzed. The design concept of the peeling machine considers the topographic conditions, particularly in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region. The result of this optimization produces the 'Peeling Machine for Peanut Shells.' The resulting peeling machine has the following specifications: height of 700 mm, length of 50 mm, width of 37 mm, operated manually, with a production capacity of approximately 0.86 ounces per second. The performance, in terms of rotation speed and the number of peeled peanuts, shows a significant correlation with increased capacity. Increasing the diameter of the blades also contributes to higher output. At a speed of 60 rpm, a closer blade distance (11 mm) yields the best results, indicating that the optimization of machine design needs to consider the blade distance in relation to the rotation speed to enhance efficiency.

Abstract

The objective of research is to assess the uniformity of pressure and the effectiveness of water distribution among the irrigation nodes. The study models drip and sprinkler irrigation networks in an 11,500 m² agricultural field using a hydraulic modeling technique using EPANET 2.2 software. The number of non-flow nodes in each simulated area, the minimum-maximum discharge, and the average pressure are the primary parameters that are examined. The findings demonstrate that branch diameter, pipe length, and pipe network layout all have a substantial impact on flow rate and pressure distribution. While locations with longer pipe segments encounter pressure drops of up to 5–7 mH₂O at the downstream portion, areas with homogeneous pressure (8–10 mH₂O) demonstrate more steady and effective water distribution performance. It was discovered that the main causes of system efficiency reduction were frictional energy losses and small losses. To increase pressure uniformity, pump energy efficiency, and overall irrigation system reliability, technical suggestions are made to install pressure regulator valves (PRV), optimize pipe diameter, and conduct zoning operations.
