Abstract

The development of technology supports all of activities included teaching learning process. One of the component in the teaching learning process is evaluation. In conducting evaluation, there were some ways, one of them was doing a project. Since nowadays students spend more time on social media, Instagram was considered as an appropriate platform to post students’ work. The objectives of this study were to describe the use of Instagram as platform to post students writing project and to know the strength and weaknesses of it. Descriptive qualitative method was used to conduct this research. The second semester students of English department were the subject of this study. Meanwhile, the instruments were documentation and questionnaire. The result showed that the second semester students used Instagram to post their project in writing text types. Those works included writing narrative, recount, descriptive, report, explanation, procedure, news item, hortatory exposition, analytical exposition, and discussion text. However, there were strength and weaknesses. The strengths were that their work were easy to be accessed, their writing skill were developed, they became more creative and innovative, and they used the Instagram wisely. Meanwhile, the weaknesses were that there was length limitation for writing the caption on Instagram, and it needed long time to design the content, therefore it spent more internet kuota.   Keywords: Writing, text types, Instagram.

Abstract

Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) adalah merupakan salah satu masalah kurang gizi pada masakehamilan yang disebabkan oleh asupan gizi yang tidak seimbang sehingga menyebabkankekurangan energi dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahuiderajat kesehatan masyarakat berdasarkan risiko kejadian Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) padaibu hamil di Wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Pancoran Mas Kota Depok. Penelitian inimenggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilaksanakan secara online melalui observasigoogle formulir (kuisioner) pada bulan Oktober tahun 2021 di wilayah kerja UPTD PuskesmasPancoran Mas Kota Depok dan pengumpulan data sekunder melalui Profil Kesehatan Kota Depok,Buku Saku Dinkes Kota Depok tahun 2020, dan beberapa jurnal penelitian terdahulu. Pengolahandata yang dilakukan dari data sekunder (Profil Kesehatan Kota Depok 2018 dan Buku SakuDinkes Kota Depok tahun 2020 dan jurnal pendukung lain) dan data primer (kuisioner-googleformulir) menggunakan Microsoft Word mengenai faktor risiko yang dapat mempengaruhi terjadiKekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) pada ibu hamil di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas PancoranMas Kota Depok. Abstract

The availability of a bilingual class whose learning process uses two languages ​​of instruction, namely Indonesian and English, is expected to be the answer to problems in an effort to increase the competitiveness of the Indonesian generation to the international world. The application of the Bilingual Class at Mts Hidayatul Athfal (HIFAL) is one of the flagship programs that it has as an effort to improve the quality of students at the school. This is the flagship program of MTs HIFAL, however, there are new challenges for school administrators considering that not all teachers are able to speak English fluently. Therefore, the school really needs Bilingual Teaching training for MTs HIFAL Banyurip teachers, Pekalongan. By holding training through community service activities, it is hoped that the teaching skills of teachers in bilingual languages ​​can be improved. This training also involves native speaker who help participants to practice using English. Bilingual Teaching training activities for MTs Hidayatul HIFAL) teachers provided significant benefits for participants. By participating in these activities, participants gain material and experience that can be applied to the Bilingual class. In the microteaching session, participants have implemented the preparation of bilingual learning tools, the use of Teachers Talk in bilingual learning, the use of ICT in bilingual learning, and the use of cooperative learning methods in bilingual learning. By participating in this training, most of the participants (teachers) seemed more confident in using English for daily communication, especially for teaching. Their speaking and teaching skills using the bilingual language are improved. Keywords: Bilingual; Training; Teaching

Abstract

Teenage years is time to begin preparing teenagers future life, they need foundation for being organized person. That was why joining organization was one of good ways. One of the organization which is provided for teenage female, is IPPNU. By joining an organization, they can manage their time, their leadership will be developed and they would be cooperative. Annually, there are some event which are hold to give the opportunity for the members to perform their ability, one of them is PORSENI. However, when joining this event, they have less confidence. That is why, an accompaniment needs to be held, especially on performing English Speech. This agenda was held in three stages, they are modelling, practice, and feedback. The lecturer gave example on how to write English speech and perform it. Then, the participants practiced writing the speech and performed it. Finally, the lecturer gave feedback on their performance. The result of this agenda showed that the participants were enthusiastic for doing the practice, they got improvement. It was proved when they joined the English Speech Competition in PORSENI, one of them became the 2nd runner up.

Abstract

Cultured-based BIPA training with a Pekalongan culinary theme aimed to introduce and preserve local culture while teaching foreign students (Nigerian, Thai, and Cambodian) how to read Indonesian procedure text that focused on Pekalongan culinary. This activity combines learning Indonesian language and culture through culinary delights, as an interesting means to understand the social aspects of Indonesian society. This community service used a blended learning method, combining offline and online learning to improve foreign students’ understanding in reading procedure text and identifying information related to Pekalongan culinary delights. Activities begin with preparation of materials and equipment, followed by implementation through online sessions and offline cultural visits. In online sessions, students learn the basics of Indonesian, vocabulary and sentence structures used in procedure text, as well the process of making typical Pekalongan culinary delights such as Tauto. Offline activities include visits to Pekalongan cultural places, such as the Unikal Batik Gallery, Batik Museum, Limun Oriental, Garang Asem Masduki, and Po An Thien Temple. This activity lasted for one month and ended with evaluation and feedback from presenters. The results of this training show that the blended learning approach is efefctive in facilitating foreign students’ understnading of procedure text and introducing Pekalongan culinary and culture as a whole.

Abstract

Mitoni is a Javanese tradition that performs special rituals. This tradition highlights a philosophical meaning for Javanese women, particularly educational values for a baby in the womb. Concerning its development, these values have shifted from its original meaning promoted by both native Javanese women and Javanese santri (students in Islamic boarding schools) women. This present study aims to explore educational values for the baby during Mitoni. A descriptive study of continuity was employed in this research. The findings reveal three characteristics of Javanese women’s perspectives on this tradition based on their subjects, namely: 1) formalistic-traditionalist Islamic view, 2) semi-formalistic-traditionalist Islamic view, and 3) pure Islamic view. Meanwhile, Mitoni, the Javanese tradition, proposes several educational values for the baby according to the Javanese santri women in Pati, Central Java. First, Mitoni provides the baby with the recognition basis of tauheed (oneness of Allah). Second, it enhances parents or prospective parents’ spirit when they educate the baby during pregnancy. Third, this tradition emerges as their effort to give good nutrition for the baby, especially in the seventh month-period of pregnancy. Lastly, Mitoni also demonstrates meaningful understanding for current young generations to preserve this cultural Javanese tradition so as to exist in the future.

Abstract

This research explores the integration of Threads, a text-centric social media application developed by Meta, as an instructional tool for teaching recount text writing. The study was conducted among tenth-grade students at SMK Muhammadiyah Karanganyar, with a central focus on learners’ perceptions regarding the platform’s use in the writing classroom. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, and subsequently analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which encompasses data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal that Threads was positively embraced by students. They exhibited not only a solid grasp of the platform’s functionalities but also demonstrated the ability to construct recount texts in a well-organized manner. Students used the reply feature to compose each section sequentially, allowing for logical idea progression and the maintenance of chronological coherence—key characteristics of the recount genre, which includes orientation, series of events, and reorientation. Furthermore, the platform fostered collaborative interaction among peers and stimulated narrative development through its threaded conversation format. Overall, the study concludes that Threads offers a dynamic and supportive digital space for recount writing, significantly enhancing student engagement, narrative coherence, and creative expression.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of countries which strongly struggle to reach Justice and Equality ofGender (KKG). This article aims to describe the internalization of gender in theeducation curriculum. The research method used in this study is library Research method by collecting some data from relevant sources such as books, and articles related to the main discussion. The research result shows that based on the Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2000, the government has given an instruction to apply gender mainstreaming into all aspects of development including educational development. In this case, it is necessary to design a gender based curriculum which integrates gender into education curriculum through the school management, learning process, students’ activity, as well as school culture.

Abstract

Siswa MIS Simbang Kulon 01 memiliki potensi yang bagus untuk dikembangkan dalam hal berbicara, namun untuk berpidato, siswa perlu untuk dikembangkan melalui pendampingan.  Tujuan kegiatan PkM ini yaitu mengembangkan kemampuan siswa dalam pidato Bahasa Inggris baik dari kesesuaian tema, kesesuaian pengucapan, intonasi, kelancaran, penggunaan kontak mata, ekspresi wajah, dan gesture. Metode PkM dilakukan melalui tahapan persiapan, implementasi kegiatan, dan evaluasi. Peserta kegiatan ini yaitu siswa MIS Simbang Kulon 01 yang merupakan kandidat peserta English Speech Competition. Hasil dari kegiatan PkM ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dapat menampilkan pidato dengan lancar dan materi pidato tersampaikan sesuai dengan tema. Selain itu, siswa dapat berpidato dengan pronunciation yang tepat dan menggunakan intonasi, kontak mata, ekspres wajah, dan gesture yang sesuai. Hal ini diperkuat dengan capaian siswa meraih juara 2 pada English Speech Competition.
