Abstract

The existence of codes of conduct in communication field is still interesting to be discussed. Not many practioners and people consider to this conduct while they were doing their jobs. They have major problems in dealing with ethics issues, especially when communicationg in the publics arena. Communications freedom and communications technology are accussed as caustive prima of communications ethics problems. To solve the problem, this article proposes self regulations to control our communication behaviour .

Abstract

Sering kali masyarakat di tingkat akar rumput sulit mendapatkan akses ke ruangpublik karena akses yang terbatas bagi partisipasi masyarakat bawah. Komunikasi partisipatifmenempatkan masyarakat sebagai subjek dalam proses komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan tujuan memahami komunikasi partisipatif dengan menggunakan photovoice yang bernama Panda CLICK!. WWF Kalimantan Barat memberdayakan masyarakat Bunut Hilir, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, dengan photovoice. Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu dikenal sebagai wilayah konservasi lingkungan. Photovoice bertujuan agar masyarakat memiliki akses untuk menyatakan gagasan atau pikirannya, khususnya tentang isu lingkungan. Masyarakat difasilitasi kamera saku digital sederhana untuk berekspresi.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 membuat seluruh dunia, termasuk di Indonesia, mengalami kesulitan yang luar biasa dan telah menciptakan ketidakpastian di tengah masyarakat, sehingga muncul infodemik seperti hoaks, mengganggu kepercayaan pada sumber informasi resmi, kepanikan, dan gangguan penanganan pandemi. Penelitian studi kasus ini berfokus pada Jaringan Pegiat Literasi Digital (Japelidi). Melalui pengumpulan data observasi dan dokumen, diperoleh hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan para pegiat Japelidi yang beragam latar belakang budaya memproduksi poster dalam berbagai bahasa untuk melawan hoaks. Penghargaan terhadap keberagaman budaya berbasis sukarela menjadi kunci Japelidi dalam melawan hoaks. Gerakan ini menunjukkan pentingnya kolaborasi dalam literasi digital.

Abstract

Star hotels in Yogyakarta are experiencing a crisis due to COVID-19. Consumer confidence in staying at hotels has decreased drastically because consumers have the perception that hotels have the opportunity to become a cluster of COVID-19 spreads. This perception is supported by news coverage in the mass media and viral videos showing violations of health protocols. Government regulations regarding social restrictions and conditions such as antigen and PCR testing have caused people to choose to stay at home as often as possible. Therefore, this study will discuss the strategies carried out by public relations in shaping the image of the hotels as a safe place during the pandemic and forming a public trust to return to activities in star hotels. This research uses situational crisis communication theory to analyze management, communication, and response strategies of crisis. It uses qualitative methods and case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with general managers, heads of departments, and public relations at star hotels in Yogyakarta. The findings in this study indicate that public relations use rebuilding strategy utilizing rhetoric of renewal. Public relations rebuild the image of hotel as safe place during the pandemic by presenting content in the form of implementing health protocols. The description about public relations’ work has been writing on result and discussion section.
