Abstract

Menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea is a common complaint experienced by adolescent girls throughout the world has shown that the incidence of dysmenorrhea is quite high, namely 43-93% of women experience dysmenorrhea and 5-10% of them experience very severe dysmenorrhea and leave their activities 1-3 days a month, where 8% of them have to leave school or work during menstruation The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of giving turmeric and tamarind with pineapple juice on reducing primary dysmenorrhea pain in TPMB "M".This study uses a qualitative research strategy, with a case study, which is a series of scientific activities carried out intensively, in detail and in depth about a program, event, and activity, both at the individual level, a group of people, institutions, or organizations to obtain in-depth knowledge about the event, this case study was conducted directly to adolescents who were menstruating and experiencing primary dysmenorrhea. The results of the study were conducted in Case 1, an adolescent who was experiencing Primary Dysmenorrhea pain with a pain scale of 9 after being given Turmeric Acid, the NRS value at Visit 1 was 7, Visit 2 was 5, Visit 3 was 3. While in Case 2 after being given Pineapple juice, the NRS value at Visit 1 was 7, Visit 2 was 4, Visit 3 was 2. both were the same in reducing pain, but consuming Turmeric Acid was more effective in reducing pain by 1 on the 2nd visit and the difference in pain reduction was 1 on the 3rd visit. It is hoped that this study can be used to add new knowledge about the treatment of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents in a non-pharmacological way, namely by using turmeric acid and pineapple juice. as an alternative.

Abstract

The postpartum period is the beginning of a new family for young families, so it is necessary to adapt to their new roles, because family responsibilities increase with the birth of their baby. A holistic approach involving education, psychological support, and monitoring of maternal mental health during the postpartum period is needed to reduce the risk of psychological disorders and ensure the well-being of both mother and baby. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy and thought stopping therapy as an effort to reduce anxiety in primiparous postpartum mothers. This type of research is a Pre-Experimental Design using One Group Pre-test and Post-Test Design. In this study, there were 2 samples where 1 sample used lavender aromatherapy intervention and 1 sample thought stopping therapy intervention. The study was conducted at PKM Tarogong and was conducted in August 2025. The study used univariate analysis to describe midwifery care and to determine the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy with thought stopping therapy on reducing anxiety levels of primiparous postpartum mothers at PKM Tarogong in 2025. The results showed that both interventions were equally effective in reducing anxiety levels of primiparous postpartum mothers. Thought-stopping therapy reduced anxiety scores by 13 points within 3 days, while lavender aromatherapy reduced anxiety scores by 12 points within 7 days. Thus, thought-stopping therapy was deemed quantitatively more effective and faster in reducing anxiety, while lavender aromatherapy remains relevant as a safe and easy-to-implement complementary therapy. Suggestions for primiparous postpartum mothers are expected to increase their knowledge about non-pharmacological anxiety reduction methods such as lavender aromatherapy and thought-stopping therapy

Abstract

Low algebra learning outcomes among junior high school students are often associated with the dominance of conventional lecture-based teaching methods that reduce student engagement and motivation during the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using snakes and ladders learning media to improve students’ algebra learning outcomes and classroom activity. This research employed a mixed-methods approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 29 purposively selected grade VII A students of STATE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLNegeri 6 Kota Sorong in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through lesson plans, pretest and posttest assessments, student activity observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis included Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality tests, mastery percentage analysis, N-Gain calculation, and classical observation percentages using SPSS. The results indicated an increase in the average student score from 7.72 in the pretest to 43.34 in the posttest, with student activity reaching 68% categorized as active and an N-Gain score of 0.41 indicating moderate improvement. However, the classical mastery level only reached 21%, which was still below the minimum mastery criterion (KKM) of 71. In conclusion, the snakes and ladders learning media was effective in increasing students’ motivation and participation in algebra learning, although further improvement is required to achieve optimal cognitive learning outcomes. Future studies are recommended to refine the instructional design, extend the implementation period, and involve larger samples to obtain stronger learning impacts. This study is limited by the use of a single-group design and a relatively small sample size, which may affect the generalizability of the findings.
