Abstract

the aim of this study was to detemire the correlation between teacher’s teaching skill and academic achivement towards deaf students. The participant for this study were 76 students which chosen by purposive sampling technique and based on students didn’t have mental retardation. This study was using teacher’s teaching skill questionare and daily exam score to measure student’s academic achievement. Data analysis for this study was performed with SPSS 20.0 for windows with Kendall’s core technique. The result of this studey find there in no significant relationship between teacher teaching skill and academic achievement, this study obtained sign of 0,988 (> 0,05) which means there is no significant correlation between teacher teaching skill and academic achievement towards deaf students. Academic achievement is not only relate with teacher teaching skill but ther is another factor that could influence academic achievement, like parent and friends factor. From this study, an advice that researcher could give was during the learning process, theacher can controll speed in speaking, so students can understand it well.

Abstract

This study aims to improve psychological well-beimg of adolescents Harapan orphanage through emotional intelligence training. Emotional Intelligence aspects in this study are perceiving emotion, facilitating thought with emotion, understanding emotion, and managing emotion. The concept of this training is experiencing learning. Material of training taught and delivered through lecturing, games, discussion, writing task, reflection, role play, presentation, and self record. Participants are 14 teenage boys who lived in HA Orphanage. The design chosen for this study was one-group pretest-posttest design. The result of quantitative analysis was significant differences before and after training. It showed that emotional intelligence training was effective to improve psychological well-being of teenage boys Harapan’s orphanage.

Abstract

Verbal aggression occurs frequently among adolescents. This behavior can result in negative impact such as; trauma and other psychological losses. This study discusses the relationship between empathy and verbal aggression in high school students. Participants in this study were high school students of class X and class XI. This research is a quantitative study with data collection using a questionnaire. The results indicated that there was no relationship between empathy with verbal aggression (r = 0.141; p = 0.112 0.05) which means that the level of empathy does not affect someone committing verbal aggression. In addition, there were external factors causing verbal aggression, namely joining friends and replying to friends who verbally aggression first. The results of this study suggest students report to the school if they see verbal aggression, so the school can follow up and verbal aggression behavior can be avoided. For the school, it is necessary to respond actively to the perpetrators of aggression that occur between students.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this psychoeducation about social media usage is to understand the benefits, impact and dangers of social media addiction and also provide ways to use media social wisely. The research design used was descriptive study. This psychoeducation is given to fourth grade students of SD Sathya Sai Denpasar, consisting of 20 students with a total of 11 female students and 9 male students with an age range of 9-10 years. Based on the result of this psychoeducation, students responded through the given padlets and showed that the students knew more about the benefits and impacts of social media.Keyword: psychoeducation, social media, addictionAbstrak: Tujuan dari pemberian psikoedukasi mengenai penggunaan media sosial ini yaitu untuk memahami manfaat, dampak, dan bahaya dari kecanduan media sosial serta memberikan tips untuk bijak dalam menggunakan media sosial. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif. Psikoedukasi ini diberikan kepada siswa kelas IV SD Sathya Sai Denpasar, terdiri dari 20 murid dengan jumlah 11 orang siswa perempuan dan 9 orang siswa laki-laki dengan rentang umur 9-10 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil psikoedukasi, siswa/i memberikan respon melalui padlet yang diberikan dan menunjukkan bahwa para siswa/i mengetahui lebih banyak manfaat dan dampak dari media sosial.Kata Kunci: psikoedukasi, medial sosial, adiksi

Abstract

Academic flow occurs when someone can concentrate, enjoy and have internal motivation in academic activity. However, students often have difficulty experiencing flow, causing inability to appreciate their academic life. Therefore, through this study academic flow will be seen in relation to academic stress and social support from friends to see which variables could support academic flow. Data were collected from 176 students of the Faculty of Psychology whom were selected using haphazard sampling. The data were processed using non-parametric correlational analysis. The hypotheses in this study are academic stress correlates negatively and social support correlates positively with academic flow. The result is academic flow negatively correlated with academic stress -0.167 (p=0.013) while social support positively correlated 0.226 (p=0.001). Based on the result, it can be concluded that both hypotheses are accepted and social support from friends has a greater variable contribution (5.1%) than academic stress (2.8%) in supporting academic flow.

Abstract

Changes in social, economic, and cultural dynamics create a paradigm shift in the student experience in the modern era, many students choose to work while pursuing their studies in tertiary institutions. The ability to self-regulate is needed in order to be able to live all its dynamics in a balanced way. Self-regulation plays a role in several aspects, namely the ability to manage time and effort, planning and clear goals, the ability to control oneself while studying or working, increasing resistance to stress, the ability to face obstacles, the ability to manage one's own motivation, and so on. This literature review aims to examine the role of self-regulation in achieving academic success and career success in working students. The method used in data collection was a literature review found in journal databases, namely Google Scholar, Research Gate, and Science Direct in both English and Indonesian in 1,510 articles published over the last ten years. The results of the study found seven articles that examined the importance of the role of self-regulation in working students in achieving academic success and managing their careers well. The conclusion is that self-regulation is crucial for academic success, influenced by goal orientation and other factors.
