Abstract

Adopting technology could give competitive advantage and positively impact the hotel’s profitability, thus hotels should keep up with the latest hotel technologies. An important part in the hotel services is the customer service. A problem with the human-to-human customer services today is a long time in answering customers query. On the other hand, nowadays customers need easy and effective services. Thus, a chatbot is required to answer consumers' issues automatically which leads to higher customer satisfaction and a growing profit. Because of the need and there is still an absence of chatbot for hotel industry in Indonesia, this study is conducted. The chatbot for hotel industry in Indonesia, named Bershca, has been successfully developed using artificial intelligence markup language (AIML) to construct the knowledge. Google Flutter is used for the system’s front-end, while Python is used for the back-end of the system. As a text-preprocessing method, Nazief-Adriani Algorithm is implemented in the system’s back-end. The system is evaluated using technology acceptance model (TAM). As a result, 85.7% of the respondents believe that using chatbot would enhance their job performance and 84.33% of the respondents believe that using the technology would be free of effort.

Abstract

In this paper, an amended K-Means algorithm called K-Means++ is implemented for color quantization. K-Means++ is an improvement to the K-Means algorithm in order to surmount the random selection of the initial centroids. The main advantage of K-Means++ is the centroids chosen are distributed over the data such that it reduces the sum of squared errors (SSE).  K-Means++ algorithm is used to analyze the color distribution of an image and create the color palette for transforming to a better quantized image compared to the standard K-Means algorithm. The tests were conducted on several popular true color images with different numbers of K value: 32, 64, 128, and 256. The results show that K-Means++ clustering algorithm yields higher PSNR values and lower file size compared to K-Means algorithm; 2.58% and 1.05%. It is envisaged that this clustering algorithm will benefit in many applications such as document clustering, market segmentation, image compression and image segmentation because it produces accurate and stable results.

Abstract

Scheduling is a hard problem due to much considerations in many goals. Combination of goals in this scheduling cause the problem hard to solve even when using mathematical techniques. Optimization is a method which aim to achieve the best result with the least cost as possible. Optimization for large scale problem usually done with more modern technic, such as metaheuristic. Genetic Algorithm belongs to a larger system called Evolutionary Algorithm which is often used for solving the best value in optimization problem. Hence, this food stand assignment scheduling is build using Genetic Algorithm with population size of 50, uniform crossover with crossover rate of 0.25, mutation rate of 0.0125, and roulette wheel selection. An interview was conducted with three coordinators of fund and consumtion that results in three constraints used in building this system. Testing is done for three events and achieve mean fitness that is 87.967%, 89.609%, and 85.001% for FesTIval, TechnoFest, and DISCO, respectively.

Abstract

Typographical error often happens. It can occur due to mechanical errors or missed hands or fingers when typing. Someone's ignorance of how to spell correctly also can cause typographical errors. Dictionary application development has been carried out by various parties so that the searching process in the dictionary becomes more efficient. However, there is no word search optimization when the typographical error happens. Typographical errors in the searching process can result in the information sought cannot be found. The Damerau-Levenshtein Distance algorithm implemented to provide search suggestions when a typographical error occurs. This research aims to design and build a health dictionary application, MeDict, using the Damerau-Levenshtein Distance algorithm. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) used to evaluate the application. The result is 86.2% stating strongly agree that the application can be useful and 86.9% stating strongly agree that the application can be used easily.

Abstract

Puskesmas must always improve their quality so that the services provided are faster and more effective. One of the efforts in improving the quality is the construction of information systems regarding types of services, programs, operating hours, and availability of inpatient rooms. Puskesmas Keranggan is one of the Puskesmas where the use of inpatient rooms is still done manually, without a system, so that medical personnel in different health services find it difficult to know the exact number of rooms that are still available. Therefore, Puskesmas Keranggan built a web-based information system that can be accessed quickly and easily using internet. The information system was built using the Laravel framework, Bootstrap, and MySQL. The web application is ready to use and has been built in accordance with the requirements.

Abstract

Offline handwriting recognition is a technique used to recognize handwriting in paper document which converting it to digital form. Each handwriting has a unique style and shape that can be used to identify the owner. This research aims to develop a method to recognize the digital data handwriting. The method combines two algorithms; the first is Generalized Hough Transform in feature extraction process to detect arbitrary objects on the image; the second algorithm is Backpropagation to train the neural network based on feature values from feature extraction process. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used to improve the accuracy of the recognition system. The experiments are performed by using 100 handwriting images of 10 different people. The number of hidden units is defined through experiment to obtain optimal neural network. The experiment result shows that the recognition accuracy is up to 80%. Abstract

Maze game is an interesting game and used to spend time. However, in the maze game, the level used forthis game still uses static levels. Static levels make the maze shape stay the same if we play the same level. Thus, players will quickly feel bored because it finds the same complexity. Maze generator is a static level problem solution on the maze game. This research uses Fisher-Yates Shuffle algorithm and Flood Fill algorithm to make maze generator. Fisher-Yates Shuffle algorithm is used for wall position randomization and Flood Fill algorithm to keep the maze results to remain resolved. The results of the application implementation yielded 30 mazes and were tested using the Hamming Distance algorithm, yielding that the result of the maze formed is always different. The average percentage rate difference produced 48% each time the maze was formed. The results of the maze that was formed performed perfect maze checking with the result of 83.33% percentage. Abstract

Presently, the Forex market has become the world’s largest financial market with more than US$5 trillion daily volume. Therefore, it attracts many researchers to learn its traded currency pairs characteristics and predict their future values. Here, we propose simple three layers Bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) networks for Forex forecasting with four different merge modes. Moreover, the proposed model is also compared to the conventional long short-term memory (LSTM) networks with the same architecture. Five major Forex currency pairs, namely AUD/USD, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CHF, and USD/JPY, with more than ten years of historical records are considered in this study. It is revealed from the experimental results that among four available merge modes, the concatenation mode as the default merge mode in Bi-LSTM networks is actually the less preferred mode for Forex forecasting (Root mean square error 0.30685517, mean absolute error 0.27442235, mean absolute percentage error 0.827108%). Moreover, Bi-LSTM average mode gets the highest  score that could achieve 89.579%. Therefore, the proposed three layers Bi-LSTM networks could provide a baseline result for developing a good trading strategy in Forex forecasting.
