Abstract

 The era of beyond third generation wireless communication is highly heterogeneous in that it comprises several radio access technologies that need to be joined into a single multimode terminal. In this respect, this paper introduces a common service recognition system for the next wireless communication technologies i.e. Long Term Evolution (LTE), WiMAX or IEEE 802.16, and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) or IEEE 802.11.It is done in physical layer as one of multimode terminal ability regardless network cooperation existence. We investigation the preamble and synchronization signals as indicators of the available services instead of carrier frequency detection. To detect these signals, we proposed a time domain detection system consisting of auto-correlation, cross-correlation, and a peak period detection. Based on complexity analysis, this paper proposes the most possible scheme with lower complexity than cross-correlation implementation. Moreover, the fixed point simulation results show that the proposed system satisfies the minimum receiver sensitivity requirements that specified in the standards.

Abstract

Indoor Positioning System (IPS) has an important role in the field of Internet of Thing. IPS works based on many existing radio frequency technologies. One of the most popular methods is WLAN Fingerprint because this technology has been installed widely inside buildings and it provides a high level of accuracy. The performance is affected by people who hold mobile devices (user) and also people around the users. This research aimed to minimize the computation time of kNN searching process. The results showed that when the value of k in kNN was greater, the computation time increased, especially when using Cityblock and Minkowski distance function. The smallest average computation time was 2.14 ms, when using Cityblock. Then the computational time for Euclidean and Chebychev were relatively stable, i.e. 2.2 ms and 2.23 ms, respectively.

Abstract

The clustering network is a solution to improve data-rate transmission in small-cells. In this case, clustering small-cells (CSCs) adopt a multiple antennas concept. The multiple antennas are used to maximize the downlink data-rate transmission at the users, but it requires precoding techniques to minimize interference among CSC users. This paper proposes a block diagonalization (BD) as a precoding technique for minimizing interference among CSC users. The performance of the BD precoding implemented on the clustering network under various numbers of small-cells. The CSC also implements a water-filling power allocation (PA-CoopWF) to distribute the available transmission power along with the CSCs antennas. To show the performance, our paper simulates two types of precoding techniques; those are the proposed BD and minimum mean square error (MMSE) in CSCs. Based on the receiver user parts under the overlapping coordination of CSCs, our method based on the BD precoding achieves considerably higher data-rate transmission compared to the MMSE precoding, especially on larger clusters. The simulation also shows that by implementing CSC with the BD in short-range distances and higher numbers of antennas, it promotes better data-rate performances compared to the MMSE precoding by 2.75 times at distance 100m and 67% at 50 antennas.

Abstract

AbstrakSeiring meningkatnya kebutuhan pengguna seluler di seluruh dunia maka 3GPP menggagas suatu teknologi baru generasi keempat 4G long term evolution (LTE). 4G (LTE) adalah teknologi yang memungkinkan sebagai solusi dari permasalahan kapasitas dan kualitas jaringan pada daerah yang memiliki demand cukup tinggi seperti Kabupaten Sleman. Keberhasilan penggelaran 4G LTE didukung oleh jaringan backbone dan jaringan distribusi. Perancangan penggelaran jaringan fiber optik untuk jaringan backbone 4G LTE di Kabupaten Sleman membutuhkan kabel optik G-652 sepanjang 85 km dengan topologi ring dan teknologi WDM-STM64. Jaringan distribusi 4G LTE di Sleman menggunakan teknologi GPON dan kabel optik tipe G984 sepanjang 61,35 km. Nilai power yang diterima pada titik end-point (ONU) -25,010 dBm pada simulasi Optisystem dan -26,626 dB melalui hasil perhitungan real. Nilai tersebut diatas nilai minimum power (receiver sensitivity) -28 dBm yang mengacu pada standar parameter ITU-T G.984.2. Rata-rata nilai rise time adalah 69 ps, nilai tersebut masih dibawah nilai standar maksimum yang diperbolehkan sebesar 70 ps. Bit Error Rate rata-rata link backbone yaitu 5x10-4. Kata kunci: backbone, distribusi, LTE, optik, sleman

Abstract

The increase in the number of retail on urban roads in Sleman D.I. Yogyakarta Regency has been very fast in recent years. The large number of retail visitors who use motorized vehicles and park in the area causes the emission of exhaust gas (CO2) to increase coupled with air conditioning exhaust gas from retail. In fact, many street vendors who cook food in the area use LPG gas so that there is an abundance of CO2 gas in the air in the retail area. On the other hand, it is very rare to find vegetation (trees) as an absorber of CO2 gas in the air in the retail area. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the carbon footprint generated from activities in the retail area so that it can be seen how many trees need to be planted to absorb CO2 gas. Based on the results of carbon footprint analysis, it can be concluded that each retailer contributes to carbon emissions in the air (CO2) at different levels so that the number of trees that need to be planted is also different. The recommended tree should have a strategic function as an absorber of CO2 emissions in addition to other aesthetic and strategic functions. The recommended trees can be planted in motorized vehicle parking areas and street vendors that cook food.

Abstract

Death registration is very important and has civil and legal impact on the deceased person and their family. Validity of a death certificate is influenced by the time accuracy of death estimation. Calculation of the post-mortem interval has a central role in the estimation of the time of death, especially for death cases in the community, without prior medical observation. This study aimed to develop a smartphone application for counting the estimated time of death based on android features, to help doctors establish a more accurate time of death and provide a learning facility for doctors and medical student. This action research consisted of 4 cycles: 1) Planning, 2) Action, 3) Observation, and 4) Reflection. The final result of this study is an android application named Forensica 3rd version. This application was developed in Bahasa Indonesia. This application has a menu for recording the patient identity, instructions for post-mortem changes examination, record examination results, time of death calculation and its interpretation. This 3rd version of the application is the latest version after undergoing two revisions. The Forensica application provides an easy way for doctors and medical students to establish the time of death estimation and it is user-friendly.

Abstract

Istilah smart system sudah banyak dikenal oleh masyrakat luas, baik oleh para akademisi, praktisi, maupun masyarakat secara umum. Meskipun begitu, belum banyak yang mengetahuia apad saja komponen dari pengembangan smart system. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk telaah kajian literatur pada pembahasan smart system yang diamanfaatkan oleh manusia dalam beraktivitas. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kepustakaan, yakni telaah literatur dari berbagai artikel yang telah diterbitkan dengan rentang selama dua tahun terakhir yang mengkaji bidang teknik elektro pada pembahasan smart system. Literatur diperoleh dengan bantuan program komputer Publish or Perish dengan sumbernya adalah Google Scholar. Pencarian melalui Publish or Perish dengan kriteria meliputi “Artikel jurnal”, “rentang tahun 2022-2023”, kata kunci “smart system”, dan “pemanfaatan”. Telaah literatur dilakukan melalui proses pengelompokkan, dengan bantuan program NVivo, dengan interpretasi berupa map dalam bentuk nodes dan child nodes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis NVivo, dapat diketahui bahan perangkat lunak dapat dibagi menjadi enam macam, yaitu IoT, C++, Telegram Messenger, Arduino IDE, Matlab, dan Java. Bedasarkan pada hasil analisis NVivo juga dapat diketahui bahwa perangkt keras dapat dibagi menjadi beberapa jenis seperti buzzer, ESP, motor servo, temperature sensor, RFID, LCD, dan Arduino.  Terakhir, hasil penelitian menunjukkan manfaat dari smart sistem adalah deteksi asap, deteksi kebocoran, hidroponik, pengukuran temperatur, monitoring pasien, sistem keamanan, sensor kelembaban tanah, kesehatan mental, pertanian, kehadiran, pengukuran glukosa darah.
