Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate student scientific attitudes toward civic education lesson through inquiry-based learning. The samples in this study were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Interactive data analysis consists of two stages: data collection and data display. The data were gathered by observation and interviews. Statistical results indicated that the student scientific attitudes towards civic education were a positive. Inquiry-based learning enhances student scientific attitude, where the most visible indicator of scientific attitudes is students' curiosity. Building scientific attitude can provide a logical solution to the problem student faced in their daily life and has scientific thinking skills. Creating and using science concepts related to students’ lives and interests will provide opportunities for a student to build their scientific attitude through meaningful learning activities. Scientific attitudes are grown through a series of experiences that students discover on their own during the learning process.

Abstract

Gender discrimination and injustice add to the burden on women, especially women headed family. The status of the headed  family puts women in difficult conditions. Apart from being the breadwinners in the family, women also have to take care of their own households so that women headed families are the poorest group in Indonesia. Women headed of family as poor and vulnerable groups need empowerment in order to achieve sustainable livelihoods. This research explores the empowerment of women headed family carried out by the SPEK-HAM Surakarta Foundation. The results showed that economic empowerment was carried out through two mentoring, first pre-empowerment which is one way of approaching women headed family through household studies and area mapping, further empowerment is carried out in the form of waste banks, pre-cooperatives and efforts to improve the economy

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe: (1) General description of the Rumah Dongeng Kinciria. (2) Storytelling strategies at the Rumah Dongeng Kinciria. (3) Implementation of child assistance programs by the Rumah Dongeng Kinciria. The study uses qualitative methods. Data collection uses interviews and documentation. The informants consisted of three people, they were the community founder, curriculum division and public relations division. Data validity testing uses source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis uses an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study show that (1) Rumah Dongeng Kinciria is a social community engaged in the field of character education in the informal education path. (2) Storytelling strategies implemented by the Rumah Dongeng Kinciria are based on catharsis methods supported by attractive media such as dolls and guitars. (3) The implementation of mentoring for children is carried out with storytelling, artwork, and watching educational films based on catharsis methods.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aims to enhance the Mastery of Comprehensive Qualitative Research Methodology (MCQRM) among Sociology students. The goal is to equip students with systematic thinking steps involving philosophy, paradigm, object of study, theory, method, statistics, case examples, and addressing real problems and solutions. The research adopts a deconstruction approach, using the model of Eid al-Fitr greetings as its substance. The participants are 26 Sociology students enrolled in the Qualitative Research Method course. Data was collected through surveys using Google Forms twice during sessions from the 9th to the 15th meeting. Responses from the first form were compared with those from the second form. The differences between them were then interpreted as indicators of changes in the mastery of comprehensive thinking steps resulting from the learning treatment. The data were analyzed using analytical descriptive statistics in SPSS software. The results show a significant improvement in the overall mastery of qualitative research methodology, with a positive change of 30.8%. Improvement is also evident in method mastery at 38.5% and statistical mastery at 11.5%. The students successfully construct comprehensive thinking steps, ranging from post-positivism philosophy to the application of social definition and social behavior paradigms. They can understand the object of sociological study in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions, integrating Action and Social Exchange theories, Qualitative Research Methods, and descriptive statistics. Through this understanding, students can present a fluent thought process from various philosophical perspectives and in solving real-world problems.
