Abstract

A common problem of a person with diabetes mellitus was the lack of discipline in implementation of their daily self-care management. Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) was a system to help diabetes patients manage their activities to improve their health. DSME is the process which can improve the knowledge, skill, and ability of diabetes self-care. This study aimed to determine the effect of using diabetes self-management education (DSME) intervention and how it affected patients’ self-care management. This research was quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest among patients with type-2 diabetes. There were 30 participants assigned by using purposive sampling into DSME intervention. Four sessions of DSME were conducted to the participants using illustrative media/fliers. The data were collected by   questionnaires of Diabetes Self-Care Management. Then, it was analyzed by using paired t-test. The results showed that self-care management of the respondents before the intervention was 28.8 and it increased to 35.3 after the intervention (mean different=6.5). There were differences in the self-care score before and after the intervention (p=0.001). This study has limited time to do DSME. But, in four sessions, we have tried to explain more about diabetes interactively. Then, better to assess the type-2 diabetes patients with qualitative method or mixed with more participants included for the future researchers. This research was adopting a DSME to found significant improvements in the self-care management in type-2 diabetes mellitus patient. This demonstrates that DSME intervention can be such clinical importance in care of type-2 diabetes mellitus patient.Keywords: Diabetes self-management education, self-care management, type-2 diabetes patients.

Abstract

The use of learning media is a very important factor to improve learning outcomes and learner motivation in learning. Wordwall is an application-based learning media that can be used as a learning medium that is easy to use and is able to improve the results of the learners' abilities. The purpose of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of students. The subjects in this study are students in class V of SD Negeri 241 Palembang which totals 28 students, divided into 13 boys and 15 girls. This type of research is a class action research with two cycles, the data collection technique used is observation and learning results test in the form of an evaluation sheet. Based on the research results, a completion percentage of 54% was obtained with 15 students in cycle I while cycle II obtained a completion percentage of 89% with 25 students. So it can be concluded that the learning results of students have improved after applying the wordwall application media in Pancasila Education subjects.

Abstract

Workshop ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan serta meningkatkan kemampuan dan kreativitas guru tentang pembuatan media pembelajaran. Dengan adanya penggunaan media pembelajaran di dalam kelas membuat proses pembelajaran menjadi tidak membosankan, serta dapat meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar siswa. Workshop ini dilaksanakan di MIN 1 Sinjai dengan jumlah peserta 14 orang guru. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah media pembelajaran Wordwall. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari tiga tahap, tahap pertama adalah tahap persiapan, tahap kedua adalah tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap yang ketiga adalah tahap evaluasi. Hal ini didukung oleh data kuantitatif hasil kuesioner yang menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 58,8% peserta memberikan penilaian “sangat baik” dan 56,5% “baik” terhadap kesesuaian kegiatan dengan kebutuhan pendidik. Selain itu, 64,7% peserta menyatakan “sangat baik” dan 35,3% “baik” terkait kebermanfaatan langsung kegiatan, serta 35,3% “sangat baik” dan 64,7% “baik” dalam aspek peningkatan kecerdasan/kreativitas pendidik. Tingkat kepuasan peserta juga tergolong tinggi, dengan masing-masing 47,1% responden memberikan penilaian “sangat baik” dan “baik”. Secara keseluruhan, data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta memberikan respon positif terhadap pelatihan yang dilaksanakan. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman, keterampilan, dan kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis digital, khususnya Wordwall. Meskipun terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan kemampuan awal dalam penggunaan teknologi dan jaringan internet, kegiatan ini tetap mampu memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif, interaktif, dan menyenangkan.
