Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills in Newton's Law subject after generative learning model was implemented. The type of this research was pre-experimental research with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study was all eighth grade students of MTs Makarim Al-akhlak, Singkawang City. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. The research instrument used was a description test. The data obtained was not normally distributed, so the data was analyzed using non-parametric statistical test namely Mc Nemar Test. From the calculation results, it was obtained the value of χ2obs. > χ2c.v. or 6.125 > 3.841, then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted at the significance level α = 0.05. Therefore, it could be concluded that there was an improvement in students' critical thinking skills in Newton's law subject after generative learning model was implemeted.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop a fluid viscosity coefficient apparatus using computer application that is easily obtained and used, namely jetAudio and Subtitle Edit software. The research was conducted at Physics laboratory in STKIP Singkawang and 5 secondary schools in Singkawang City. The feasibility level of this apparatus is known through validation by experts. Validation was carried out by 3 physics lecturers. The results of the validation stage were used for user tests by 10 STKIP Singkawang students. From the results of the analysis obtained 1) the results of validation by tool experts amounted to 91.1% which were interpreted very good, 2) the results of validation by material and content experts amounted to 91.9% which were interpreted very good, and 3) the results of user tests conducted by students showed the percentage of responses at 71.35% which was interpreted good. Thus the apparatus is feasible to use and can be an alternative in physics learning that can improve students' skills and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Science process skills is important to developing the quality of students’ learning in science. This research aimed to determine the effect of generative learning xmodel on students' science process skills of the topic Light. This type of research was pre-exprimental with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research consisted of all students of class VIII in SMPN 5 Singkawang City. The research samples consisted of the students of class VIII E the total number of 20 students and the sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The research instrument used in this research was description test. Data were analyzed by using paired t-test. From the calculation results was obtained the value of -tobtained < -tcritical or -21.36 < -2.093, then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted at the level of significance α = 0.05. So it can be concluded that there was an effect of generative learning model on students’ science process skills in the topic of Light.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa alat dan pedoman praktikum gerak jatuh bebas dengan stopwatch otomatis sederhana. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang dicetuskan oleh Borg dan Gall. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah lembar kuisioner validasi. Hasil validasi alat praktikum oleh ahli alat sebesar 92,86% yang diinterpretasikan sangat baik. Hasil validasi buku pedoman praktikum oleh ahli materi dan ahli konten sebesar 88,46% yang diinterpretasikan sangat baik. Hasil uji coba lapangan dengan subjek penelitian 15 orang mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Fisika sebesar 87,33% yang diinterpretasikan sangat baik.

Abstract

Penentuan nilai tegangan rata-rata melalui percobaan pengukuran tegangan DC dengan memanfaatkan Zelscope 1.0 telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancangan percobaan pengukuran tegangan DC dengan memanfaatkan Zelscope 1.0, dan menentukan nilai tegangan DC rata-rata dengan mengunakan rancangan percobaan tersebut. Metode pengukuran yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan mengukur tegangan keluaran DC dengan menggunakan Zelscope 1.0 sebagai pencuplik data. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perangkat lunak Zelscope 1.0 dapat digunakan untuk mencuplik data tegangan keluaran DC. Nilai tegangan rata-rata yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebesar 2,624360376 V dengan nilai simpangan baku sebesar 0,000971326.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the improvement of student’s concept understanding on Newton's Law with the implementation of POE learning model. This research type is quantitative and using pre-experiment method with one group pre-test post-test design. In this study, the measurements in the form of pre-test to the subject and then treated with the POE learning model and within a certain time post-test is given. The population in this research is all students of class VIII in SMP 5 Singkawang city. The sample of the research is the students of class VIII E which amounted to 20 people and the sampling technique using purposive sampling. The result of data analysis using N-gain equation shows improvement of student’s concept understanding by 0,64 with medium category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkategorikan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain dengan pendekatan Learning by Doing pada materi wujud zat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan bentuk pre-eksperiment design dengan desain penelitian one group pretest posttest design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di salah satu MTs. di kota Singkawang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel berupa teknik sampling jenuh. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa diukur menggunakan alat ukur tes berupa 12 soal pilihan ganda tentang hasil belajar yang sebelumnya telah diujicobakan dengan reliabilitas 0,42 berada pada kategori cukup. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang dianalisis dengan N-gain sebesar 0,75 berada pada kategori tinggi.

Abstract

The determination of the gravity acceleration through free fall experiment using the relay circuit has been done. This study aims to make free-fall experiment design using relay circuit, and determine the value of gravity acceleration by using this experiment design. The measurement method used in this study is to measure the free fall time of the object using a stopwatch that can work automatically. The result of this research is this experiment design can be used to get the free fall time data automatically. The values of gravity acceleration to 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm respectively, are 9.80952381 m/s2, 9.814058957 m/s2, 9.845 m/s2, 9.858283385 m/s2, and 9.829645226 m/s2. So that the average acceleration value of the five variations of height is 9.831302275 m/s2. Keywords: Free fall motion, gravity acceleration, relay circuit.
