Abstract

Palm oil is one of Indonesia's leading sectors. Palm oil companies on the IDX experi-enced a decline in profitability from 2016-2019. Some even had negative profits. One indicator to assess the company's performance is to look at the level of profitability. This study aims to analyze the effect of leverage, activity, liquidity, and sales growth on the profitability of palm oil companies for the 2016-2020 period. The sampling method used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. This study uses panel data regression analysis. The results showed that Debt to Asset Ratio, Total Asset Turnover, and Current Ratio had a negative effect on ROA, while Working Capital Turnover had no effect on ROA, and sales growth had a positive effect on ROA.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in the Indonesian economy, contributing 60.5% to the GDP, employing 96.9% of the workforce, and accounting for 15.69% of exports. However, MSMEs still face capital problems. Many of them struggle to access financial institutions due to their limited financial literacy. This research aims to identify the level of financial literacy among microbusinesses. The survey involved 60 respondents in the Cibinong District of Bogor Regency and analyzed how financial literacy levels and demographic factors influence microbusinesses’ decisions regarding the use of financing products from micro financial institutions (MFIs). The analytical method employed in this study is logistic regression. The research results indicate that financial attitudes, education, and income have a significant positive impact on financing decision from micro financial institutions, while financial knowledge and behavior have a significant negative impact. Keywords: MSME, MFI, financial literacy, demography, micro businesses ABSTRAK Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian Indonesia dengan kontribusi terhadap PDB 60,5%, penyerapan tenaga kerja 96,9%, dan ekspor 15,69%. Namun, UMKM masih menghadapi masalah permodalan. Banyak UMKM masih belum mampu mengakses lembaga keuangan karena literasi keuangannya yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi tingkat literasi keuangan usaha mikro, dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 60 responden di Kecamatan Cibinong, Kabupaten Bogor dan menganalisis pengaruh tingkat literasi serta faktor demografi terhadap keputusan usaha mikro dalam menggunakan produk pembiayaan di lembaga keuangan mikro (LKM). Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap keuangan, pendidikan, dan pendapatan berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap pengambilan keputusan menggunakan produk pembiayaan lembaga keuangan mikro, sementara pengetahuan dan perilaku keuangan berpengaruh signifikan negatif. Abstract

Objective: This study examines the impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict, specifically the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, on Indonesia’s energy sector stocks. Research Design & Methods: Using an event study methodology, the research analyzes abnormal returns, security return variability, and trading volume activity of 66 energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The analysis employs mean difference tests conducted in Eviews 13. Findings: The results reveal significant differences in abnormal returns before and after the event, indicating market sensitivity to geopolitical risks. However, no substantial changes in security return variability or trading volume activity are observed, reflecting market stability overall. Practical Implications: This study underscores the need for investors to implement risk management strategies and diversify portfolios to mitigate the impacts of geopolitical events. Contribution & Value Added: This research highlights the importance of company fundamentals and portfolio diversification in investment decisions by demonstrating a limited correlation between geopolitical events and stock trading volumes.

Abstract

The conflict between Palestine and Israel has a long and complex history that has persisted for over half a century without resolution. This conflict escalated again with an attack by Israel on October 7, 2023, causing significant casualties and damage in Gaza. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict on the stock prices of cyclical and non-cyclical companies. The variables in this study are the stock prices of cyclical companies (McDonald's and Starbucks) and non-cyclical companies (Unilever and Nestlé). The research was conducted on companies listed on the S&P Dow Jones. The data analysis methods used include descriptive tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, Friedman tests, and Kruskal-Wallis tests using SPSS version 23. The results of the study indicate significant changes in the stock prices of cyclical and non-cyclical companies during the conflict. McDonald's and Starbucks experienced significant stock price declines, while Unilever and Nestlé showed greater stability. This research provides insights for investors and financial analysts in managing portfolios during periods of geopolitical uncertainty.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of organic marketing on consumer purchasing decisions using a case study of Kopi Kenangan, a leading coffee chain in Indonesia. The research analyzes how Instagram features like Feed, Stories, Reels, and Live influence consumer behavior. A total of 100 Instagram users who have purchased Kopi Kenangan products were surveyed through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results show that Instagram Feed and Instagram Stories significantly positively affect purchasing decisions, while Instagram Reels and Live do not show a significant impact. The findings highlight the effectiveness of unpaid digital marketing efforts in shaping consumer preferences and suggest that businesses can leverage organic content on Instagram to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
