Abstract

The 2019 Presidential Election was a big challenge for Muhammadiyah. Apart from having to play its role as a civil society, Muhammadiyah faced an internal elite fragmentation and social conflicts that resulted from the 2019 Presidential Election. The purpose of this article is to analyze the roles played, elite fragmentation, and conflict resolution pursued by Muhammadiyah in the 2019 Presidential Election. The method used in this research was a qualitative case study. The results of this study indicate that in the 2019 Presidential Election, Muhammadiyah played its roles as a civil society including providing public services, being substitute for the government and keeping social-political balance. Moreover, Muhammadiyah attempted to manage the elite fragmentation within Muhammadiyah during the 2019 Presidential Election by separating its members’ personal political choices from its formal organisational political stance of neutrality. This article concludes that in the 2019 Presidential Election, Muhammadiyah emphasized its position as a power of civil society in Indonesia and strengthened its commitment not to engage in practical politics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Real Work Lecture (KKN) program based on Information Technology (IT) by designing a village information system through the creation of social media designs and the design of the Trimulyo Kallurahan website prototype. Kaluarahan Trimulyo does not yet have a profile book, and social media displays do not yet have an attractive design. The implementation of community empowerment through the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Real Work Lecture program based on Kalurahan Online (Kaline) is supported by creating a village profile that provides information on the village, population, and village potential. Making website prototype designs and social media display designs are beneficial in digitizing progress and services in Trimulyo Village. The social media display method and the prototype design of the Trimulyo Village Website are the first steps in optimizing the Website and Social Media in Trimulyo Village.

Abstract

The main purpose of implementing the Kalurahan Online service program is to manage village profile data digitally, procurement and updating of websites and social media, and mapping of problems, as well as village potential to improve BUMDes performance. The method used is to provide assistance involving students and lecturers of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta to directly go to the field and develop/compile village profiles, website creation and training to improve reliable human resources. The first results obtained from this activity are that the Margokaton Village already has an online-based Profile Book and profile video that contains complete and up-to-date data so that it can be used as a reference for making village government policies. Then there is the latest design on the Instagram feed display of the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) and the Margokaton Kalurahan website to support the promotion of potential, especially local handicraft products. Developments that need to be carried out after this program include updating the up-to-date village profile and using active social media.

Abstract

The villagers of Krebet Tourism Village initially had a livelihood of farming which later developed its economy with development of the tourism sector. This development has brought progress to the Krebet Tourism Village which attract tourists to learn and make crafts. In addition, the Krebet Tourism Village has received several awards such as the best tourist village award in Yogyakarta in 2024. This study aims to determine the practice of sustainable tourism in the Krebet Tourism Village through the Environmental Sustainability Aspect, the Economic Sustainability Aspect, and the Socio-Cultural Sustainability Aspect. The method used in this study uses qualitative descriptive. The sources of this study are websites and related articles. As well as data analysis techniques in this study are data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the Krebet Tourism Village is able to utilize the existing natural resources by making crafts in the form of wooden batik which is now well-known not only in Yogyakarta, but also famous outside the city. Tourism in the Krebet Tourism Village makes a positive contribution to several aspects including the environmental sustainability aspect, the economic sustainability aspect, and the socio-cultural sustainability aspect. In terms of environmental sustainability, the Krebet Tourism Village holds several tourism initiatives such as tree planting or farming tour packages. Tourism activities in Krebet Tourism Village have also contributed to improving the economy and welfare of the community by opening up job opportunities, one of which is wooden batik craftsmen. This is also supported by Krebet Tourism Village which is able to build community participation and active roles as a form of human resource management in the village. Now Krebet Tourism Village has been visited by many tourists to learn about the history and how to make wooden batik crafts. This positive trend was hope to be maintained and can be well managed by the Krebet Tourism Village community so that in the future it can continue to be a reference for tourism from outside the region and be an example for other tourist villages.
