Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of behavioral aspects (sentiment investor, overconfidence, salience, overreaction, and herd behavior) on investment decision making. The sample contained 413 individual investors—used partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) as a data analysis technique. The results showed that sentiment investors, overconfidence, salience, overreaction, and herd behavior positively affect investment decision making. The finding of this study has important implications for the investor to understand themselves to anticipate bias in investment decision making.

Abstract

These days most of MSMEs have a quite good understanding of social media and how it works for their business. In Indonesia, Instagram is one of the best powerful tools to introduce and market their product instantly. However, social commerce face problems especially in customer trust. It is suspected by customer doubt to the key factors of social media online shop, i.e : reputation, transaction, communication, safety, information quality, economic feasibility, and word-of-mouth referrals. The purpose of this study is to test a framework of Instagram account quality model and its impact on MSMEs social media marketing strategy. An online-based questionnaire was administered to 271 MSMEs. Furthermore, structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Findings indicate that there are significant effect between information quality, reputation, safety, communication, and economic feasibility to the Instagram account quality construct. The practical implications emphasize on MSMEs first need to develop their information quality on Instagram, because that is the most significant factors towards Instagram account quality in online store perception.  A focus on improving information quality will also help MSMEs to communicate and promote their post to reach more audience and interaction with potential consumers.

Abstract

Issues related to board directors have attracted the interest of various research. Gender diversity in board of director is believed to affect firm’s risk and performance in several ways. This study aims to understand the impact of gender diversity in board of director on firm risk and firm performance. Firm risk in this research are total risk and systematic risk. Total risk is measured by deviation standard of daily return, Systematic risk is measured by beta, and performance is measured by Tobin’s Q. The author uses 87 samples of non-financial firm in Indonesia during 2011-2014 with 155 observations. Based on this research, the result of multiple linear regression showed that gender diversity in board of director has a significant negative effects on firm risk and significant positive effects on firm performance. This means that the firms with greater gender diversity in board director show lower risk and deliver better performance. Keywords: Gender Diversity, Risk, Performance, Board of Director
