Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of behavioral aspects (sentiment investor, overconfidence, salience, overreaction, and herd behavior) on investment decision making. The sample contained 413 individual investors—used partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) as a data analysis technique. The results showed that sentiment investors, overconfidence, salience, overreaction, and herd behavior positively affect investment decision making. The finding of this study has important implications for the investor to understand themselves to anticipate bias in investment decision making.

Abstract

Effect of Growth Opportunities and Environmental Uncertainties To Profit ManagementThe purpose of this study is to investigate the determinant of firm’s earning management by food and beverage industry in Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2010-2015. The impact growth opportunity and environmental uncertainty may induce greater manager’s use discretionary accruals as earning management. Furthermore, this study also examines the effect auditor quality on the relationship between growth opportunity and earning management. Using purposive sampling, the sample of this study consist 8 companies are listed on IDX (48 firms-year). The result indicated that firm’s situation under growth opportunity and environmental uncertainty had an impact on the earning management. However, auditor quality proven has an impact on the relationship between growth opportunity and eaning management.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v6i2.3572

Abstract

PT PLN Persero saat ini melakukan pilot project distribusi retail energi listrik yang disebut service point di PLN Unit Layanan Salatiga. Service point (SP) merupakan suatu sistem dimana PLN tidak lagi menggunakan unit layanan tiga layer (distribusi, area, rayon), tetapi hanya dua layer (distribusi dan area). Tujuan penerapan SP adalah untuk melakukan peningkatan efektivitas, efisiensi, kualitas operasi dan pelayanan dengan mengubah prosedur pelayanan dan mekanisme fungsi administrasi. Penerapan service point di PLN Unit Layanan Salatiga merupakan satu-satunya proyek percontohan yang berhasil dan masih diterapkan hingga saat ini. Dalam rangka mengetahui ketercapaian penerapan SP, perusahaan perlu mengetahui faktor keberhasilannya. Sehingga perusahaan dapat mengetahui faktor apa saja yang harus diperhatikan dalam menerapkan service point ke depannya, mengingat keberhasilan SP akan di duplikasi di PLN Unit lainnya di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah in-depth interview untuk mengidentifikasi faktor keberhasilan SP. Faktor keberhasilan tersebut akan dikelompokkan menjadi empat perspektif balanced scorecard (BSC). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 16 faktor keberhasilan yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengelolaan service point ke depannya.

Abstract

Bisnis jasa rental mobil semakin berkembang setiap tahunnya setiap tahunnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi faktor faktor kritis dari sisi produk dan jasa yang dapat meningkatkan kepuasan konsumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dimana menilai apakah faktor dari metode Product Service System yang berpengaruh signifikan dalam bisnis rental mobil. Faktor kebutuhan dari PSS rental mobil yang digunakan dalam rancangan model PSS bisnis rental mobil berjumlah 38, yang terdiri dari 26 faktor kritis technical artefact dan 12 faktor services. Setelah dilakukan product and service realtionship matrix yang merupakan adaptasi dari house of quality, penelitian ini menghasilkan 6 faktor kritis dengan nilai hubungan tertinggi dari tabel product and service analysis matrix yang ada, tiga faktor kritis dari sisi produk adalah related product, availability dan flexibility. Faktor kritis dari sisi jasa adalah required resource, estimated result dan location of service application.

Abstract

Instalasi Penjernihan Air Minum (IPAM) Legundi merupakan salah satu operator penyedia layanan air minum yang dimiliki oleh PDAM Giri Tirta Gresik dengan kapasitas terpasang sebesar 550 liter/detik. Kebutuhan air minum yang lebih besar dibandingan pasokan air yang didistribusikan ke masyarakat mengakibatkan pemenuhan akan kebutuhan air tidak maksimal. Salah satu elemen penting dalam proses produksi air minum adalah pengadaan air baku yang mayoritas berasal dari air sungai. Kondisi lingkungan sekitar air sungai yang tercemar dapat mengakibatkan kualitas dan kuantitas air berkurang, sehingga dapat memunculkan permasalahan dalam pengadaan air baku. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan konsep green supply chain management (GSCM). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memilih prioritas indikator implementasi GSCM pada IPAM Legundi. Indikator tersebut dibobotkan untuk mengetahui prioritas indikator terpilih yang harus diperhatikan terlebih dahulu menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prioritas indikator implementasi GSCM pada IPAM secara berturut-turut adalah indikator desain mutu untuk mendukung regulasi (ECO4), indikator sertifikasi ISO 9001 (IEM11), indikator membangun sistem daur ulang limbah lumpur (IR4), indikator kerjasama dengan pelanggan untuk penghematan air (CC2) dan indikator sertifikasi pemasok ISO 9001 (GP4).

Abstract

Peningkatan penjualan mobil dari tahun ke tahun membuat semakin ketatnya persaingan bisnis sejenis pada sektor industri otomotif, sehingga dibutuhkan keefisiensian dalam menjalankan proses bisnis agar bisnis tersebut dapat terus berkompetisi di pasar. Tolak ukur efisiensi industri otomotif dalam menjalankan kegiatan bisnisnya dilihat dari seberapa besar suatu brand dapat mendominasi pangsa pasar yang ada. Akan tetapi, tolak ukur tersebut dinilai kurang efektif dikarenakan oleh capaian pangsa pasar yang diperoleh oleh suatu brand industri otomotif terlalu terfokus pada hasil akhir (output) tanpa memperhitungkan hasil usaha (input) didalam kegiatan bisnisnya. Sehingga, diperlukan suatu metode baru untuk mengukur efisiensi dari industri otomotif tersebut secara objektif. Penelitian sebelumnya juga membuktikan bahwa penggunaan market share sebagai acuan keefisiensian suatu industri otomotif dinilai kurang efektif, sehingga digunakan metode baru dalam menghitung efisiensi dari industri otomotif dengan menggunakan Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan DEA tersebut dalam pengukuran efisiensi retailer produk kendaraan merek Toyota di Jawa Timur. Metode yang digunakan adalah Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), dengan objek amatan penelitian ini adalah seluruh outlet AUTO2000 di Jawa Timur sebagai retailer dari produk kendaraan merek Toyota. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini yaitu terindentifikasinya faktor-faktor yang terlibat dalam efisiensi AUTO2000 dan terlihat perbandingan keefisiensian antar DMU AUTO2000 di seluruh Jawa Timur.

Abstract

Each investor has an investment plan to reach their investment objectives. Perceived investment performance was affected by a high level of the psychological aspect.  The purpose of this study was to test the effect of the Big Five personality traits on the perception of investment performance. This study also tests the moderating role of social interaction. PLS-SEM was used to test the hypotheses. Used individual stock investors in Indonesia, the findings showed that openness personality had a negative effect on perceived investment performance. Otherwise, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism had a positive impact on perceived investment performance. The results also show that social interaction moderates the relationship between conscientiousness, agreeableness, and perceived investment performance. This result shows that information selection and investment knowledge is important when allocating asset to achieve investment objectives.

Abstract

The emerging issue of labour piracy in Indonesia makes human resources become the most valuable assets. Labour piracy is mostly found in financial corporate to minimize cost, because there are limited capable employees available. The previous study found, the average Indonesian employee turnover in bank was 2-10 years. Approximately of 54% employees were willing to leave their job earlier and moved to others financial corporate with higher salary, and some others prefer to get a better career path, hence resigning the current job became the best decision for them. Training and education expense are increasing, but they have capability in minimizing corporate efficiency. Intellectual Capital (IC) played an important role in financial industry. This research aims to provide a conceptual framework of IC role to corporate efficiency. Study found that there is significant positive effect of IC to corporate efficiency. Study also revealed several factors of IC that influence the corporate efficiency.

Abstract

It becomes more important to design energy-efficient for buildings. This is true in relationship to a public building design especially retail property such as traditional market. It calculates the use of energy during construction and operation. There are three alternatives for a building energy system which are passive energy, electrical equipment, and user processes. The alternatives are developed for a public commercial retail. They were selected by four stakeholders named government, tenant, designer, and property manager. It is not easy to make a decision where there are many stakeholders' interests. A decision support system is necessary. The system should support a collaborative process among decision makers. This paper presents a multi criteria and multi person decision process to develop agreement options and coalition formation to find the best fit option of the energy system for traditional markets building in urban areas. There are three stages involved in the process which are first is determining and scoring of every alternative for every stakeholder, second is determining the optimal solution (payoff optimum) for each stakeholder in a coalition, and third is analyzing the best fit options for every coalition and grand coalition. An analytical hierarchy process (AHP) based on satisfying option is applied for the first stage. A liner programming is used to determine payoff optimum in the stage two and an agent system based on game theory built the coalition algorithm on the stage three. The result shows a model of collaborative decision to select a building system at design process.

Abstract

The development of business and technology ecosystems demands industry to always make adjustments. Supply chain changes become one that is certain to happen. This change process allows the company to manage and minimize risks. Therefore, it is necessary to apply good risk management to minimize the impact of risk. As one of the vending machine service companies in Indonesia, PT XYZ has a long supply chain, covering the production process, assembling, shipping and customer service. This research aims to identify risk events and risk agents and determine the priority of risk agents in the vending machine service company at PT XYZ. The design of this research uses the first stage House of Risk method to identify risk events and risk agents as well as determining the highest risk agent. Then the highest risk agent is ranked in Pareto diagram to determine risk agent priority. The prospect of this research will be an overview of the risks that may arise in the vending machine service company in Indonesia.
