Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the implementation of character education at the State Polytechnic of Balikpapan viewed from institution, academic / curricular and non-curricular.Type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data used in this study was purposive sampling, informant who serves as key informants in this study, such as:Director, Vice Director I, Vice Director II, and students. The data were analyzed by using Analysis Data on Interactive Model.The result of this character education implementation researchin StatePolytechnic of Balikpapan at the institution level there are no policies or regulations governing the implementation of educationcharacter in academic / curricular that was still included in the civicsand religion subject have not been integrated into all subjects, and in character education extracurricular had already implemented in student organizations

Abstract

Permasalahan yang terjadi diawal pembentukan lingkungan RT. 50 Kelurahan Sepinggan-Balikpapan meninggalkan sejumlah pekerjaan rumah bagi pemerintah daerah. Minimnya fasilitas umum di lingkungan RT. 50 Kelurahan Sepinggan sangat berdampak terhadap ketentraman, dan kenyamanan hidup masyarakat. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang terjadi di lingkungan tersebut. Salah satu solusi penyelesaian masalah adalah dengan peningkatan fasilitas umum berupa penerapan lampu penerangan jalan umum (PJU) berbasis solar system. Pengaplikasian teknologi solar system karena potensi tenaga surya di Kalimantan Timur yang tinggi, dan juga sebagai upaya memaksimalkan penggunaan energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT). Langkah-langkah kerja meliputi observasi, perencanaan, penerapan, dan pengujian. Komponen utama lampu PJU berbasis solar system adalah lampu dc LED, panel surya, charge control, dan battery. Berdasarkan perencanaan diperlukan lampu dc LED 12 V-12 W, battery 35 Ah-12V, panel surya 100 Wp, dan charge control 10 A untuk pemakaian selama 12 jam. Hasil akhir kegiatan PKM ini adalah lampu PJU berbasis solar system telah mampu diterapkan di lingkungan RT. 50 Kelurahan Sepinggan.

Abstract

This paper wants to explain the efforts that lecturers should make in universities tofight and prevent the development of radicalism in universities by synchronizing thecurriculum in general compulsory subjects such as Pancasila, Citizenship, andReligious education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a casestudy approach. This research was conducted at the internal quality assurance centerof the Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan in curriculum development for general coursesin fighting radicalism and the civic education lecturer team outside the PoliteknikNegeri Balikpapan. The results of the study would like to recommend curriculumsynchronization, among others: first, synchronizing the design of semester learningmaterials about radicalism in Pancasila, Citizenship, and Religious Education,secondly implementing a hidden curriculum in countering the development ofradicalist ideology, third conducting joint evaluations and research on thedevelopment of radicalism in higher education. Abstract

Campus has a strategic role in the development of human resources through the implementation of Tridharma (three higher education roles), namely the implementation of education and teaching, research, and community service. In addition to this role, vocational colleges have the responsibility of equipping students with values according to the needs of the industry. To be able to work according to the needs of the workplace, not only to mastering hard skills, but also mastering soft skills, because in carrying out his profession in addition to using technological tools also conduct social interaction with fellow colleagues, supervisors, and partners in a professional manner. To train students in developing intra-personal and interpersonal skills, in addition to being obtained in lecture halls, also through student organization activities (ormawa) on campus such as BEM, MPM, HMJ and UKM. This study aims to examine the role of ormawa in shaping character values, by analyzing the character indicators of the implementation of ormawa's work program. Among the findings are the growth of independence, creativity, responsibility, honesty, budget accountability, and time management. The results of this study indicate that ormawa has a role in shaping character values through student activities independently. Keywords : character values, industry workplace, students organization Kampus memiliki peran strategis dalam pengembangan sumber daya manusia melalui penyelenggaraan tridharma pendidikan tinggi, yaitu pelaksanaan pendidikan dan pengajaran, penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Selain peran tersebut, perguruan tinggi vokasi memiliki tanggung jawab membekali peserta didik dengan nilai-nilai sesuai kebutuhan dunia kerja dan industri.Untuk dapat bekerja sesuai kebutuhan dunia kerja, selain penguasaan hard skill, juga penguasaan soft skill, karena dalam menjalankan profesinya selain menggunakan alat-alat teknologi juga melakukan interaksi sosial dengan sesama rekan kerja, atasan, dan mitra secara profesional. Untuk melatih mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan intra personal dan interpersonal, selain diperoleh di ruang kuliah, juga melalui aktifitas organisasi kemahasiswaan (ormawa) yang ada di kampus seperti BEM, MPM, HMJ, dan UKM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran ormawa dalam membentuk nilai-nilai karakter, dengan menganalisis indikator karakter dari pelaksanaan program kerja ormawa yang dilaksanakan. Di antara temuannya adalah tumbuhnya kemandirian, kreatifitas, tanggung jawab, kejujuran, akuntabilitas anggaran, dan manajemen waktu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ormawa memiliki peran dalam membentuk nilai-nilai karakter melalui aktifitas mahasiswa secara mandiri. Kata kunci : dunia industri, nilai-nilai karakter, ormawa

Abstract

Lembaga Dakwah Kampus as an intra organization which has role for presenting the concept of Islamic Wasathiyah on campus with the aim of expanding Islam and countering radicalism. This research is motivated by students at the Lembaga Dakwah Kampus less of understanding the concept of Wasathiyah even though in practice they generally operate in da 'wah. This research used quantitative method by observation and deep interview. The results of the research show that the Lembaga Dakwah Kampus develops insight not only with regard to Islamic insight but also organizational and leadership development. It is showed that every member has chance to joining the programs (here also provides for non - Muslims regardless of religion, ethnicity. The student movement through the Lembaga Dakwah Kampus provides a solution for campus residents to commit for practicing I slam Wasathiyah with avoiding from certain groups, political interests or radicalism. This concept is necessary to collaborate with various elements of others organizations to develop Islamic insight, character formation, and Islamic culture.

Abstract

Today the noble values of the Pancasila begin to fade because of the growth of fanatical attitudes towards certain groups, the emergence of various kinds of organizations with particular groups even in the name of Islam. Islam which teaches the values of glory such as; love of peace, love, mutual respect between one another religion, but religion is sometimes interpreted according to his will by certain groups as a foundation in launching his mission by approaching religious teachings by means of violence and coercion. Radicalism which was only directed at a less educated group of people, has now fallen to educated groups or students in universities. Some university leaders have indicated the involvement of students in radical understanding on campus. Because of concerns about the emergence of radical understanding in higher education institutions a few months ago the Minister of Technology Research and Higher Education Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasir gathered college leaders to declare against radicalism the campus. The purpose of this study is to further examine the potential of radicalism among Balikpapan State Polytechnic students, the object of this study is students especially students of internal organizational activists on campus or students of campus external organizational activists data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews then the data is processed. The results of this study indicate the existence of radicalism among students. From data obtained, radicalism among students is not formed from internal campus but formed through the activities of external organizations that are outside the campus.  The existence of student affiliations with external campus organizations forms students into radicals which then enter the campus.

Abstract

Progress of a nation is determined by quality of education of nation itself. There are several factors that affect the quality of education such as the subject of educators, materials and supporting facilities. One of the basic educational institutions that contribute to the quality of education this country is educational institutions in community starting from Kindergarten school. Kindergarten al-Qur'an and early childhood of the Qur'an. The educational institution of the Qur'an today is growing very rapidly but on the other hand has not been directly proportional to the quality produced. This study discusses of Qur'anic educational problems preparing the Qur'anic generation seen from the point of view of management and implementation education of the Qur'an in institution. The results of this study indicate that the educational institutions of al-Qur'an are still experience problems in the management such as the responsibility of managers, the managerial capability of the unit head, and the ability to provide supporting facilities, in the implementation of learning, there are many educational institutions that do not match the ratio of the number of teachers with one study group on the other hand, the quality of teachers are still low and the ability of teachers transfer knowledge to students.

Abstract

Sistem bahan bakar berfungsi sebagai penyedia kebutuhan bakar bakar untuk proses pembakaran pada engine di unit alat berat. Ketika sistem bahan bakar pada excavator mengalami permasalahan, maka engine tidak dapat beroperasi secara maksimal. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan engine sulit untuk start atau bahkan tidak dapat running. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode diagram fishbone untuk menganalisis akar penyebab masalah dari persoalan yang ada. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, ditemukan adanya komponen sistem bahan bakar mengalami kebocoran pada air bleed plug dan kerusakan injektor. Injektor berfungsi untuk menginjeksikan bahan bakar dengan tekanan yang tinggi, waktu yang tepat, dan jumlah yang sesuai. Ditemukan jumlah aliran balik dari injektor menuju tangki lebih besar dibandingkan dengan yang diinjeksikan. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan gangguan pada proses pembakaran di engine, akibatnya sulit dihidupkan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat alat bantu untuk melepas rear torque rod pin. Permasalahan yang terjadi pada saat proses pelepasan rear torque rod pin adalah dengan memukul pin menggunakan hammer dan wire rope punch (chicken bar). Pada saat proses pelepasan pin dengan cara ini dapat menimbulkan resiko kecelakaan kerja. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka diperlukan untuk membuat bracket stand puller yang dapat membantu dalam proses pelepasan pin menggunakan puller dan hydraulic hand pump. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan (field research) dengan sumber data observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Dari hasil percobaan dan analisis perbandingan sebelum dan sesudah adanya bracket stand puller menunjukkan waktu pelepasan rear torque rod pin 50% lebih efisien dan 45,45% lebih aman. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa special tool yang dibuat dapat memudahkan pengerjaan pelepasan rear torque rod pin, mengurangi waktu pekerjaan serta lebih aman ketika digunakan.
