Abstract

This research aims to analyze learning outcome of grade X students in one of the Public Senior High Schools in Cimahi on the subject of irrational inequalities, using the learning method of flipped learning. Research method used is classroom action research and the subjects being researched are 18 students of grade X IPA. On the first cycle, conventional learning method is used, continued by the second cycle, which used flipped learning model. The data collection technique is using observation, documentation, and 4 essay test question that suitable with indicator of competence achievement. Improvement of learning outcome are then reviewed frommstudents grades in comparison with the school’s KKM on the first as well as the second cycle. In conclusion, there are 61% of student who do not pass the KKM on the first cycle, however by using the flipped learning model on the second cycle, there are only 22% of students who do not pass. It shows that the model gives a better influence toward students’ learning outcome compared to the convensional learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of students in working on questions about opportunities in class IX Middle School students in one school in Nagreg. The research method used is a qualitative description method. The study was conducted with a sample of 27 students. The test questions given are in the form of 6 descriptive test questions that have a cognitive level based on Bloom's Taxonomy that has been validated both in content and empirical. Data processing techniques namely through data tabulation, then calculating of percentages and comparing the results of calculations with criteria. The results of the study state that students find it difficult to determine the empirical opportunity of an experiment and determine the sample space of an experiment at a high cognitive level (C6). Difficulties arise because students are unfamiliar with the concept, students do not understand the material, have not been able to conceptualize and analyze correctly, also weak mastery and understanding of existing concepts. So this indicates that there are still many students who have difficulty in solving the problem opportunity.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon guru-guru dalam pembelajaran Lesson Study di Desa Cisarua Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Metode yang akan dipakai dalam penyuluhan ini adalah pelatihan/workshop. Populasi yang akan mendapatkan pelatihan ini adalah guru MA Di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pengabdian ini akan dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan dari awal perencanaan penyuluhan sampai dengan menyerahkan laporan pengabdian. Dua tahap dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu, 1) pemberian penyuluhan tentang pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Lesson Study sehingga guru-guru mendapatkan materi pembelajaran Lesson Study. 2) Pemberian workshop/latihan dalam pembelajaran Lesson Study baik dari perencanaan  pembelajaran, melihat proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Lesson Study dan guru-guru menjadi observer pembelajaran sampai dengan  pengevaluasian pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and examine the correlation between interest in learning and mathematical resilence of junior high school students in improving students' mathematical understanding ability. The research method used is descriptive with the form of correlation. The population of this study is all students of class VIII SMP in Cimahi City, West Bandung regency. The sample used is 35 students of SMP taken randomly. Based on the result of the penelitian, it is concluded thatthe relationship between interest in learning to the ability of mathematical understanding; the correlation between resilience to the ability ofmathematical understanding; the relationship between interest in learning and resilience; the correlation between interest in learning and resilience to students' mathematical understanding. Great contribution given interest in learning and resilience to the ability of mathematical understanding of 50,3%. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menelaah hubungan antara minat belajar dan resilensi matematis siswa SMP terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan bentuk korelasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP di Kota Cimahi Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 35 siswa SMP yang diambil secara acak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, disimpulkan bahwa adanya hubungan antara minat belajar terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis; adanya hubungan antara resiliensi terhadap kemapuan pemahaman matematis; adanya hubungan antara minat belajar dengan resiliensi; adanya hubungan antara minat belajar dan resiliensi terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Besar kontribusi yang diberikan minat belajar dan resiliensi terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis sebesar 50,3%. Kata kunci: Kemampuan pemahaman matematika, ketahanan dan ketertarikan matematis

Abstract

The following research relates to the use of problem based learning (PBL) models in mathematics learning aimed at increasing student learning motivation. The subjects in this study were students of class XI in one of state vocational schools in Cimahi. Questionnaires and observation sheets as instruments used in this study. Research is carried out a number of two cycles, each cycle for one study, each cycle there are four main activities, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data collection technique in this study used questionnaires and observation sheets. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative, so that research results are obtained that show that there is an increase in student learning motivation in each cycle.This can be seen from the increase in students' positive motivation obtained from the questionnaire given. Because learning with a problem based learning (PBL) model has characteristics that are able to make students easily understand the material conveyed and motivate students to learn mathematics for the better.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out students' mistakes in solving algebraic operations according to Kastolan's theory. In this study used a qualitative descriptive method with the research subject of class VII in one of the MTs in West Bandung Regency with a total of 20 students consisting of 9 girls and 11 boys. The data collection technique was carried out in the form of a written test consisting of 5 description questionsFrom the results of the analysis of student errors based on Kastolan theory, there are several types of Kastolan errors overall, namely: 1) the type of conceptual error is 60%, this type of error is included in the high category 2) the type of procedural error is 40%sufficient category and 3) the type of technical error by 30% this type of error is included in the low category. Based on the results of the analysis that has been obtained from students' answers, the cause of the errors that exist in each of these errors is an error in making mathematical models, students do not show completion strategies and students' lack of ability to perform arithmetic operations.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research is a classroom action research (CAR). This research was conducted on 21 students Junior Highschool of class VII around Bandung district in the 2021/2022 academic year. The material used is a sets. The instruments used are test and non-test. The test instrument used is a problem-solving ability test in the form of a pretest and a posttest of 5 questions in the form of a description of the set material to determine the effect of the model used with the abilities. The non-test instrument used was a 10-scale interest in mathematics questionnaire which contained negative statements and positive statements. This research was carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. The procedure in this research consists of 1) Plan, 2) Action, 3) Observation, and 4) Reflection. Student learning outcomes in this study obtained N-Gain data in the average category with a score of 0.79 and concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model had an effect on the mathematical problem solving abilities Junior Highschool of class VII.

Abstract

Learning abilities that are elements of learning in the 21st century require teachers to have skills in guiding students to develop communication skills, process information, think creatively, solve problems, collaboration and manage themselves. These abilities can be developed through the implementation of innovative learning in the classroom, one of which is the STEM approach. STEM-based learning integrates four fields, namely science, technology, engineering and mathematics in one learning activity. This service activity was carried out by 30 mathematics teachers who were members of the Mathematics teacher community in Denpasar City. The activity is carried out using the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The service activities that have been carried out have a good impact on teachers. At the end of the activity, teachers can understand STEM-based mathematics learning through practical learning activities and are able to develop learning innovations by compiling STEM-based learning scenarios.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the test items for mathematics subjects on the material of a two-variable system of linear equations with a combined method. That the thing is that learning is limited by researchers will conduct research at SMP Negeri 2 Haurwangi with research subjects of class VIII students who are in class 05 which contains 17 students. In class 05, students have different characteristics, from high, medium, and low categories which can be obtained from the assessment of students' answers to the test questions given. The items made consist of 3 questions. With easy, medium, and difficult categories. Given this research is a research that uses quantitative descriptive which will be analyzed using Ms. Excel based on Validity, Reliability, Distinguishing Power and Difficulty Index. The results showed that; 1) the three items with very high validity and high reliability, 2) based on the discriminatory power of interpretation is less, 3) based on the difficulty index of question no. 1 and 2 are moderate, while question no. 3 is difficult.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the scientific approach through the discovery learning modelon students' mathematical understanding abilities. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted on 17 students of class VII at one of the junior high schools around Bandung district for the academic year 2021/2022. The material used is the set material. The test instrument used is a mathematical understanding ability test as many as 6 items in the form of a description of the set material. The non-test instrument used was a questionnaire on the attitude scale of students' interest in learning mathematics with 10 positive and negative statement scales. This research has a conducted in two cycles, the first cycle consisting of two meetings and the second consisting of two meetings with in the end carried out pre-test and post-test activities. Student learning outcomes in this study obtained N-Gain data in the Average category with a score of 0.76 and concluded that the application of the scientific approach through the discovery learning model had an effect on students' mathematical understanding abilities with student learning interest of 75%.
