Abstract

Distorsi logam terjadi akibat kontraksi logam yang terpapar suhu tinggi sehingga menimbulkan tarikan atau dorongan pada benda kerja. Alat bantu berupa pencekam banyak digunakan pada proses pengelasan untuk mencegah distorsi pada logam. Pencekam tiga aksis mampu melakukan proses pencekaman ketiga aksis sekaligus. Proses penggunaan pencekam jenis ini sangat bermanfaat untuk proses pengelasan rangka furnitur. Pencekam ini digunakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi rangka kursi. Penelitian ini untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan pencekam tiga sumbu untuk menahan fenomena distorsi akibat kenaikan suhu proses pengelasan, dan peningkatan produktifitas waktu proses penyambungan dengan variasi arus pengelasan 50 Ampere dan 60 Ampere. Kinerja pencekam mampu mempercepat waktu proses 19% dan menekan biaya pembuatan produk rangka sebesar 43,74%. Metal distortion occurs due to contractions of metal exposed to high temperatures that cause pulling or pushing on the work piece. Three-axis fixtures are widely used in welding process to minimize metal distortion. Three-axis fixture is capable of holding the three axis simultaneously, so it is very useful for the welding furniture frames, and can improve the efficiency of chair frame production. This study is to examine the use of three-axis fixture to withstand the phenomenon of distortion due to the increase in temperature of welding process at welding current of 50 Amperes and 60 Amperes, and decrease production time of the joining process. The fixture performance was able to speed up processing time by 19% and reduced the cost of frame production by 43.74%.

Abstract

PT X adalah perusahaan di bidang agroindustri khususnya pada komoditas jamur kancing. Jamur kancing memiliki umur simpan yang pendek sehingga harus segera dijual ke konsumen atau diproses menjadi produk olahan. Jumlah permintaan jamur tidak pasti, menyebabkan terjadinya kelebihan atau kekurangan produksi baik pada produk segar maupun olahan. Oleh karena itu, perlu untuk menghitung rencana kombinasi produk yang dapat memenuhi tujuan yang diinginkan dan mendapatkan solusi yang memuaskan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode goal programming dalam perencanaan produk kombinasi. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan permintaan produk dan ketersediaan bahan baku dari Januari 2017 hingga Desember 2019. Selain itu, data kebutuhan bahan baku, jam tenaga kerja, biaya produksi, dan harga setiap produk juga digunakan. Data historis terkait jumlah permintaan dan ketersediaan bahan baku digunakan untuk meramalkan jumlah permintaan dan ketersediaan bahan baku pada periode perencanaan menggunakan model ARIMA. Penentuan tingkat prioritas yang digunakan dalam pemodelan goal programming pada penelitian ini menggunakan pairwise comparison. Berdasarkan hasil perencanaan yang telah dibuat untuk bulan Januari 2020, total jumlah produksi fresh champignon yaitu 22.584 kg, produk 250 mL whole champignon sebanyak 4.499 unit, produk 900 mL whole champignon sebanyak 2.571 unit, produk 250 mL sliced champignon sebanyak 4.567 unit, produk 900 mL sliced champignon sebanyak 32.306 unit, dan produk canned champignon sebanyak 85 unit. Model peramalan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini representatif berdasarkan verifikasi yang telah dilakukan. Kata kunci: jamur kancing, goal programming, perencanaan produksi, ARIMA

Abstract

Indonesia is the second largest natural rubber producer in the world with 28% of the total world production in 2010. In line with the growth of the world’s automotive industry, the needs of natural rubber as a complementary synthetic rubber products will also increase. The main objective of this research was to find the best alternative strategy to increase the productivity of the natural rubber plantations through the green productivity (GP) approach. The case study was conducted at PT. XYZ, a private company which runs the plantation and processing of natural rubber businesses. The material flow analysis was performed to identify the seven green wastes. The best alternative strategy was determined by using the  analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model developed into several improvement scenarios. The measurement of  the alternative strategy performance was rated as the future Green Productivity Index (GPI) and compared with the value of current GPI, which had been calculated in the PT. XYZ, as the case study. The results of this research was  able to provide the best productivity improvement strategy, the level of company’s productivity which has been achieved, and the productivity levels of the implementation of the strategy chosen.ABSTRAKIndonesia merupakan negara kedua penghasil karet alam terbesar di dunia dengan produksi sebesar 28% dari total produksi dunia di tahun 2010. Sejalan dengan bertumbuhnya industri otomotif dunia, kebutuhan karet alam sebagai produk komplementer karet sintetik akan turut mengalami peningkatan. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk merumuskan alternatif strategi terbaik pada peningkatan produktivitas proses budidaya karet alam melalui pendekatan konsep Green Productivity (GP). Studi kasus dilakukan di PT. XYZ, perusahaan swasta yang bergerak dibidang usaha perkebunan dan pengolahan karet alam. analisis aliran material dilakukan dengan menggunakan peta aliran material hijau untuk menganalisa tujuh jenis sumber pembangkit limbah hijau (seven green wastes).  Alternatif strategi terbaik ditentukan dengan menggunakan model Analytical Hierarchy Process (aHP) yang kemudian dikembangkan menjadi beberapa rancangan skenario perbaikan. Pengukuran kinerja alternatif strategi ini selanjutnya dinilai sebagai indeks produktivitas hijau (GPI) perbaikan (future) dan dibandingkan dengan nilai indeks GPI saat ini (current), yang telah dihitung pada studi kasus yang dilakukan. Hasil penelitian ini  mampu memberikan informasi strategi peningkatan produktivitas terbaik, tingkat produktivitas yang telah dicapai perusahaan, dan tingkat produktivitas hasil penerapan strategi terpilih.

Abstract

Vitamin E and zinc are necessary for preventing free radical damage to phospholipid membranes, enzymes and other important molecules. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dietary vitamin E and zinc levels on performance and lipid oxidation in fresh and stored eggs of laying duck. A total of 90 of 22 weeks old ducks were randomly divided into 15 experimental units by assigning a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment diets were R1 (control diet), R2 (R1+40 IU vitamin E), R3 (R1+80 IU vitamin E), R4 (R1+100 ppm organic zinc), and R5 (R1+200 ppm organic zinc).The experiment was carried out for 8 wk. Parameters observed were feed intake, egg production, egg weight, feed conversion ratio, and Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substances (TBARS) value. The results showed that increasing of vitamin E from 40 IU to 80 IU and zinc from 100 ppm to 200 ppm did not affect feed intake and egg weight. Otherwise, the dietary Vitamin E and organic zinc significantly decreased (P<0.05) feed conversion ratio and significantly increased (P<0.05) egg production and decreased (P<0.01) TBARS values. It is concluded that dietary 40 IU vitamin E or 100 ppm organic zinc could increase the performance of laying ducks and dietary 200 ppm organic zinc was more efective to be antioxidant than 40 and 80 IU vitamin E.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate fresh dandelion leaves on turkey performance. The study used a complete randomized design of 4 treatments and 6 replications. A total number of 24 turkeys (Meleagris gallapavo)-12 week-old were used in this 5 weeks of feed trial. The experimental animals were fed with the diet containing 37% of commercial broiler starter diet, 40% rice bran and forage (water hyacinth and fresh dandelion leaves). The treatments with fresh dandelion leaves addition were P0: 0%, P1: 5%, P2: 10%, and P3: 15%. The variables observed were bio active compound in dandelion leaves, daily behavior and turkey performance. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the significant differences between treatments were analyzed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that dandelion leaves contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids, vitamin D were 17.37 ppm and antioxidants IC50 have an antioxidant activity with a value of 102.31. Observation of daily behavior showed that turkeys behavior was dominated by eating and resting activities, where the highest frequency of resting activities was 0.43 per second (P0). Turkey performance were not significantly different on feed consumption, carcass weight, carcass percentage for all treatments but significantly different (p<0.05) on average daily gain (AVG) and feed conversion ratio. Therefore it can be concluded that fresh dendelion leaves are able to used up to 15% in turkey diet. Abstract

Egg yolks contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that are easily oxidized during storage, so they must be protected. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of feeding containing sweet potato leaves meal (TDU) and cassava leaves meal (TDS) on the quality of duck eggs stored at 5 °C for 8 weeks. This study used a completely randomized design, 6 ´ 3 factorial design with 4 replications. Factor A was feed treatment (R0 = control feed without TDU or TDS; R1 = feed containing 0% TDU and 10% TDS; R3 = feed containing 5% TDU and 0% TDS; R4 = feed containing 5% TDU and 5% TDS; R5 = f eed containing 5% TDU and 10% TDS). Factor B was egg storage time (0, 4, and 8 weeks). A total of 144 duck eggs were used in this study. The results showed no interaction between the supplementation of TDU and TDS with the storage time on the quality of stored eggs. Supplementation of TDU or TDS or their combination significantly (p<0.05) increased the yolk score and yolk egg weight. Storage time for 4 and 8 weeks significantly (p<0.05) decreased egg weight, shell percentage, egg white percentage and weight, Haugh unit, and egg yolk score, but significantly (p<0.05) increased egg yolk percentage and weight. This study concluded that supplementing 5% sweet potato leaves meal and 10% cassava leaves meal resulted in the highest egg yolk color score. Storage time for 4 weeks can still maintain duck eggs with AA quality. Keywords: cassava leaves, duck eggs quality, storage, sweet potato leaves

Abstract

Food coloring and flavoring from pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius) are natural dyes that can be used as an alternate to synthetic dyes. Meanwhile there is a potential to establish factory to support it as well as raw material availability. The purpose of this study was to conduct a pre-feasibility study of establishing a natural pandan preparations industry. The scope of this study includes market and marketing analysis, technical and technological analysis, management and organizational analysis, and financial analysis. The target market is the cake and bread industry, hotels, restaurants, and cafes in West Java. This industry is planned to be established in Tasikmalaya City, West Java with a production capacity around 44 ton/year. The results of the pre-feasibility study are that the industry is feasible with a Net Present Value of Rp 3.358.666.480; an Internal Rate of Return of 27.408%, a Net Benefit Cost Ratio 2.652; and 4.05 years payback period. Furthermore, based in the sensitivity analysis indicated that the decrease in selling price is more sensitive compared to the increase in operating costs and decrease in production capacity, and the increase in operating costs is more sensitive when compared to a decrease in production capacity. A decrease in selling price of 15% or an increase in operating costs of 20% has made the pandan preparation industry not feasible. Keywords: coloring, flavoring, pandan leave, pre-feasibility study

Abstract

The meat quality of Jawa Super Male Chicken is attributed to the diet treatment offered since the rearing period. This study aimed to evaluate the meat quality of Jawa Super Male Chickens fed on diets made of soybean meal (SBM) fermented with Bacillus subtilis or Aspergillus niger. The experimental groups were control group without steam conditioning or fermentation (P0), SBM fermented with Bacillus subtilis or SBM BS (P1), and SBM fermented with Aspergillus niger or SBM ASP (P2). Ninety chickens aged 21 days (210 ± 3.69 grams) were assigned to three groups, and replicated six times with five birds. Basal diets were made of corn-soybean with 16% crude protein (CP) and 2,950 Kcal metabolic energy (ME). The results showed significant differences (P<0.05) in the physical attributes (cooking loss, water holding capacity) and chemical properties (fat content) but the collagen and protein content did not differ significantly (P>0.05). The meat pH was within the normal range of 5.90 – 5.93. Conclusively, SBM fermented with Bacillus subtilisor Aspergillus niger increased meat quality.
