Abstract

The Parāśara Dharmaśāstra is a legal library dedicated to the Kali Yuga. The Dharmaśāstra literature stipulates that in each different era, a different legal system applies. The sages and kings determine which part is appropriate for the era. Because in Hinduism, the purpose of customary law or religion is to build order in life and the morality of society. The Parāśara Dharmaśāstra talks about law and dharma, both of which aim to build the moral order of civilized society. This article is a text study that specifically examines the text of the Parāśara Dharmaśāstra which is the smṛti of the Kali Age. The text study uses the Śri Aurobindo Vedic interpretation method. The advantage of Śri Aurobindo's interpretation method is that it examines the Vedic text in depth by paying attention to the purpose of the text being studied. Therefore, the interpreter will get the real meaning of both the language and the main purpose and for whom a text is intended. The Parāśara Dharmaśāstra is a law book that is still valid today. However, as a customary and religious law, not all slokas can apply absolutely because only adjustments are made to environmental conditions including world conditions in general. However, the laws and Dharma in this book will be able to provide moral guidance to build a religious society as well as to contribute in this modern era.

Abstract

The long history of yoga has given birth to a number of important texts that became the source of learning Yoga, at a certain time. Yoga, whose origins are derived from the Rigveda, is a mindful practice of living in which physical and mental training has evolved to become the dominant physical training method in the modern age. A number of classical yoga texts such as Yoga Vasista, Yoga Sutras Patañjali, Goraksasatakam, Gheranda Samhita, Siva Samhita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika have influenced the knowledge and practice of yoga in Bali from the fourth to sixth centuries, before yoga's popularity continued to decline during the colonial period. Yoga is not a new product that has entered the modern era, after the formation of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, but Bali has become a conservationist for the world's yoga baboons. The ancient yoga training center is located on Mount Watukaru, so the yoga tradition is called Ancient Balinese Yoga, the Watukaru Tradition. Although there is no specific mention of the name of the text, a number of the same terminology at the relatively the same era is evidence that the influence of classical yoga texts has reached Bali at that time.

Abstract

Prambanan Temple is a Hindu Nusantara Theological Archetype, where the name of the Parabrahman temple becomes Prambanan which means worship of the Supreme God, or the highest temple. The pattern of temple construction that uses the Vāstupuruṣamaṇḍala pattern and the concept of worship is characterized by Hindu Theology which is universal, overshadowing all isms. Relics in the form of Prambanan Temple, the grandest temple in Nusantara, illustrate the glory of Hinduism in the past and the theological concepts and ideas of diversity that are developing today. This qualitative research examines Prambanan Temple as an Archetype of Hindu Nusantara Theology that encourages religious harmonization and upholds the concept of unity amid differences. The research was conducted in several locations, such as the Prambanan Temple Complex, the Indonesian National Museum, the Jakarta National Library, and the Yogyakarta Archaeological Agency. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative analysis known as Ethnographic Content Analysis (ECA), a combination of objective content analysis with participant observation. The original name of Prambanan Temple is Śivagrha which means House of Śiva or Śivalaya-nature of Śiva, as well as the temple of Lord Śiva. Śivagrha is a temple complex worshiping the Tri Murti, namely Brahma, Visnu, and Śiva, as the Creator, Sustainer, and Demolisher. From the structure of the building and the text search, this temple has a Śivaistic concept, namely Śiva is worshiped as the highest Devata. However, it also attracted other devotees and united them with the construction of other deities worshiped in the various temples in this complex. Thus Prambanan became a center of worship, a center for study, a center for Brahmin activities, and a spiritual center or a yatra destination for the wider community.
