Abstract

Pasraman, ashram, padukuhan or gurukula are traditional education systems in Hinduism that have been rooted since ancient times. Hindu that realizes that education is an important aspect in human life. In Bali, the history of Pasraman has been known since ancient times. In folk tales there are scattered touches of education and the existence of padukuhan or pasraman creating a place for Bali to receive education in ancient times. This article describes Pasraman as an effort to improve the quality of education based on spiritual and culture. The research was conducted at pasraman in Bali with qualitative descriptive and data analysis using Ethnographic Content Analysis (ECA). The results showed that Pasraman still find the spirit and its relevance in today's modern era. Because the character order becomes an important foundation to support efforts to improve the quality of national education. It will also directly linked to efforts to improve human resources Excelling as proclaimed by the provincial government of Bali.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to discover the background of change of a temple's name to Bhur Bwah Swah temple, the temple structures, and the conceptual framework of the theology of Bhur Bwah Swah temple. The theories used to investigate the problems were phenomenology and structural functionalism theory. This research was qualitative research. The location of the research was Seraya village, Karangasem Subdistrict, Karangasem Regency. The technique of determining informants was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used was qualitative descriptive. The results of the study were 1) the background of change of the temple's name to Bhur Bwah Swah temple was based on historical foundations, administrative foundations, and spiritual foundations. 2) The structure of Bhur Bwah Swah temple consisted of three temple locations unit, namely: Bhur Loka temple consisted of three regions/mandala, namely nista, madya and utama mandala. In madya mandala, there were 2 (two) pelinggih apit lawang. In utama mandala, there were 7 (seven) pelinggih. Bwah Loka Temple consisted of 2 (two) mandala, namely nista mandala and utama mandala. In utama mandala, there were 2 (two) pelinggih namely pelinggih gedong and pelinggih padmasana. Swah Loka temple consisted of three mandala. In nista mandala, there were 2 (two) pelinggih apit lawang. In madya mandala, there was bale pesanekan, and in utama mandala, there were 7 (seven) pelinggih with various worship concepts. 3) The conceptual framework of the theology of Bhur Bwah Swah temple, namely: worship of God Saguna Brahman, Ninguna Brahman, Tri Murti, Tri Purusa, and Tri Loka.

Abstract

Community Service aimed at the Pinandita in Tonja Village, North Denpasar District, Denpasar City which aims to improve the quality of Hindu human resources, especially the Pinandita so that later they are able to transmit and teach Hindu theology, to the wider community and provide stimulation to actively learn about ethical ethics and ceremonies and spiritual methods so that the Pinandita have more expertise in addition to being the leader of the ceremony as well as the Pinandita when carrying out their obligations to lead the ceremony. The Pinandita often feel physical fatigue, tingling, and lack of concentration after several times leading the ceremony. Likewise, the Pinandita's understanding of their existence as Pinandita and their understanding of theology is still very lacking so they are interested in learning. With this understanding, the Brahma Widya Postgraduate Masters Study Program at UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar took a study program-based Community Service in Tonja Village by inviting thirty applicants and presenting five presenters from the study program who were competent in that field. The material presented is Understanding Theology (in general and adopted in Bali), Hindu Religion Events, Ethics and governance practices, Understanding Sanskrit, Meditation. From the presentation of the material, the Pinandita felt many benefits, especially the health of the Pinandita improved by practicing Pranayama and Meditation regularly and had an impact on maximizing the implementation of the Pinandita's duties properly. Likewise, other subject matter is very useful to broaden the knowledge of the Pinandita so that they feel confident in carrying out their duties.
