Abstract

  One of the primary goals of agroindustry is to deliver horticulture products (vegetables and fruits) to the target marketplaces timely with minimum quality loss. This is vital considering the characteristics of agroproducts particularly vegetables and fruits which are sensitive to the fluctuation of micro- and macroclimate conditions, methods and the duration of delivery.  Therefore, the selection of transportation lines for the distribution of agroproducts becomes a determining key to the minimizing of  time delay and quality loss in delivering agroproducts to the marketplaces. This demands the support of spatial data that can be utilized to enhance the selection of the best routes for distributing agroproducts. This study discusses the approach of spatial data management to support the decision making for selecting the best transportation lines to deliver horticulture products and demonstrates the implementation issues of the software prorotype for handling the distribution of vegetables in Bogor districts.

Abstract

PT Astra Agro LestariTbk has a huge palm oil plantation that spread out in several locations inIndonesian's main island such Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. To manage theplantations, PT Astra Agro Lestari needs an information system, which isspatially referenced. The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyzethe operational plantation information according to user needs, and to developprototype of spatial information system. A modified method of Development LifeCycle (SDLC) and prototyping developed were used. The output of developedinformation system are some information products that consist of basicplantation, daily harvesting, fertlizing, plant disease, and plantationinfrastructure information such building, roads network, and bridges. The datawere collected from related divisions PT. Astra Agro Lestari and compiled intoboth spatial and attribute database. Spatial information system has an impactin the effeciency of processing time and cost increasing information quality,making problem solving easier.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi komputasi cerdas seperti jaringan syaraf tiruan (JST) dapat diterapkan dalam sektor ketahanan pangan. JST bekerja seperti layaknya otak manusia. Dalam hal ini JST digunakan untuk mendeteksi tingkat ketahanan pangan di suatu daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kinerja JST pada sistem deteksi dini krisis pangan yang telah dikembangkan sebelumnya melalui pelatihan tambahan. Pelatihan yang dilakukan menggunakan data sekunder dengan mempertimbangkan keterbaruan waktu dan wilayah. JST yang digunakan adalah multi-layer perceptron dua hidden layer dengan algoritma pelatihan backpropagation. Sepuluh parameter krisis pangan dijadikan sebagai input dan level krisis pangan menjadi output pada proses pengenalan pola oleh JST selama pelatihan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pelatihan tambahan dapat menambah tingkat akurasi JST dari 70,55%menjadi 85,38%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis bobot JST dapat diidentifikasi parameter penentu level krisis pangan diurutkan berdasarkan bobot tertinggi sampai bobot terendah, yaitu: (1) padi puso atau gagal panen (2) rasio konsumsi normatif, (3) harga beras, (4) IHSG, (5) angka kematian bayi, (6) tanpa hutan, (7) perubahan kurs dolar, (8) penduduk miskin, (9) berat badan balita dibawah standar dan (10) curah hujan 30 tahun. Hasil pengurutan tersebut dapat menjadi masukan serta prioritas dalam penanggulangan dan penyelamatan krisis pangan.  Kata kunci: JST, backpropagation, manajemen krisis pangan, ketahanan pangan

A database system has been developed to prodict land suitability and cultivation information of national valuable fruits. The database system covers commodity of fruits database, agro-ecological database, and salaccia and mango information database. "A computer program for determining the best of land suitability was designed based on fruits database and agroecological database.

Abstract

This paper describes the design of baby fish counter with parallelsensors to enhance the speed of counting process. This design is developed from the previous baby Jish counter with a single sensor. The counter with 0 single sensor has only one outlet channel through which baby fishes are being $own and counted. The new baby fish counter is designed to have multiple outlet channels, each of which is equipped with a sensor to enable uparullel counting process, and thus increasing the counting speed.

Abstract

This paper discusses the development of a software prototype for cucumbers selection and grading by applying Standard Backpropagation Neural Network (SBPNN) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The prototypes has been tested to recognize cucumbers based on their shapes (i.e. straight or non-straight cucumbers). Cucumbers images data were expressed in eight position of rotational exes:0˚,45˚,90˚,135˚,180˚,225˚,270˚,315˚. The implemented system can recognized 100% of all tested straight cucumbers and 75%of all tested non-straight cucumbers. The performance implemented SBPNN was also compared to another system called Probabilistic Nural Network (PNN). The result shows that SBPNN in generalization or recognition accuracy.
