Abstract

Bali cattle are Indonesian indigenous cattle and bred by most households in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province. East Nusa Tenggara is one of the main production centers of beef cattle. However, the growth production rate of Bali cattle in NTT tends to decline, while Indonesian import rates of cow and meat are still increasing. This research aims to analyze the competitiveness level of Bali cattle. Policy Analysis Matrix was employed to determine the level of profit and competitiveness of cattle breeding at the household level, according to local agriculture officials, 140 breeders from 2 sub-district areas of Kupang were chosen as respondents. The results show that the cattle fattening farms have shown positive private and social profits and high level of competitiveness. Therefore, the appropriate government’s policies toward the inputs and outputs are needed to increase the efficiency of Bali cattle production at household level. Abstract

Production risk and price risk are problems that are often faced by coconut farmers. This is illustrated by the price and production instability faced by farmers, which will then have an impact on income and decision making in production and work allocation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of changes in the level of production risk and price on the behavior of farmer households in coconut farming production decisions. This research was conducted in Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province with a total of 200 farmers as respondents. The production function and the risk function were analyzed using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, while the farmer household economic model which was built using the simultaneous equation would be analyzed using the Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) method. The results of the risk function analysis show that the risk of coconut production is directly proportional to the use of salt and herbicides. Land area, use of salt, herbicides and labor have a significant and positive effect on coconut production. The simulation results show an increased risk of negative impacts on the economy of coconut farmers' households. Keywords: production risk, price risk, household economy, coconut farmers

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is faced with the challenges of environmental dynamics in the TUNA era (Turbulence, Uncertainty, Novelty, and Ambiguity). This paper aims to analyze entrepreneurship development models in DKI Jakarta. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. This study uses a method with an analytical approach, Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM). The elements and sub-elements in the ISM questionnaire were obtained from discussions with experts, including local government, entrepreneurs, academics, and the community. The output of ISM analysis is the sub-elements' positions in the four quadrants of the diagram and the level structuring based on the follow-up priority. This study found that sub-elements comprised of bank financial institutions (Bank DKI), LPDB, entrepreneurial empowerment volunteers, universities (LPPM), and researchers (lecturers) were included in sector II (dependent). Other sub-elements like DPRD, kasatpel, the business community, non-bank financial institutions, entrepreneurial activists, influential figures, and the public were included in sector III (linkage). There are sub-elements in sector IV (independent), such as governors, mayors/regents, related agencies, business actors, e-commerce, online media, and endorsers. The ISM analysis results show that the sub actor with the highest influence level is the governor. It shows that the governor has a very strategic role in developing entrepreneurship in DKI Jakarta. Abstract

This research explored the dynamics of agricultural cultivation in Indonesia, where vast rural areas, distant from urban centers, necessitated robust distribution channels involving distributors and retailers to expand the market for pesticide products. Given the limited information on business interactions between producers and retailers and their implications on product market development, this study sought to evaluate the factors influencing retail behavior when considering partnerships with producers. Employing the PLS-SEM analysis method, we examined the influence of exogenous variables such as capital on endogenous variables like repurchase decisions, incentive programs, collaborative relationships, supply chain management, partnership decisions, and commitment. This investigation involved 53 retailers in the Central Java region and utilized 21 reflective indicators measured through questionnaires. The findings revealed significant relationships among variables, with the exception of the link between collaboration and partnership decisions, as well as partnership decisions and commitment. This indicated that the retailer-producer relationship hinged on business sustainability not yet to the level of product commitment. The implications suggested that producers could strategically utilize supply chain management and incentive programs to foster partnerships with retailers.
