Abstract

There are more than 2,200 of 20,000 world’s total deposit of medical herbs found in Indonesia. Between 1994 and 1999, the medicinal herbs export value and volume increased 24.33% and 65.33% respectively. The value of world medical herbs trade increased around  25 billion dollars between 2000 and 2001. One of the potential herbs to be developed is Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) which is useful to keep the health of lever (hepatoprotector) and also cure other symptoms. This research is aimed to determine the feasibility of establishing the effervescent tablet industry made from temulawak extract. According to market and marketing analyses, the average market value for this product nationally is around Rp 17.84 billion. With production capacity of 1,368,000 tubes/year this product will gain approximately 15% of market value, which is around Rp 2.68 billion.  Each tube consists of 10 tablets at the price of Rp 19,572. Toll manufacturing system was chosen to increase efficiency and reduced the risk from marketing failure. This industry investment opportunity is required approximately Rp 10.5 billion investment. The analysis shows that with the equity between internal fund and bank loan of 50:50 resulted in internal rate of return of 35.66% which is higher than the predetermined minimum attractive rate of return of 20%, the net present value of Rp 14.47 billion, and the payback period of 4.41 year at the 10 year project cycle.  Sensitivity analysis includes variabel cost and projected revenue. Based on the entire project analysis, this industry is considered feasible to conduct. Keywords: temulawak, effervescent, analysis, feasibility

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is faced with the challenges of environmental dynamics in the TUNA era (Turbulence, Uncertainty, Novelty, and Ambiguity). This paper aims to analyze entrepreneurship development models in DKI Jakarta. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. This study uses a method with an analytical approach, Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM). The elements and sub-elements in the ISM questionnaire were obtained from discussions with experts, including local government, entrepreneurs, academics, and the community. The output of ISM analysis is the sub-elements' positions in the four quadrants of the diagram and the level structuring based on the follow-up priority. This study found that sub-elements comprised of bank financial institutions (Bank DKI), LPDB, entrepreneurial empowerment volunteers, universities (LPPM), and researchers (lecturers) were included in sector II (dependent). Other sub-elements like DPRD, kasatpel, the business community, non-bank financial institutions, entrepreneurial activists, influential figures, and the public were included in sector III (linkage). There are sub-elements in sector IV (independent), such as governors, mayors/regents, related agencies, business actors, e-commerce, online media, and endorsers. The ISM analysis results show that the sub actor with the highest influence level is the governor. It shows that the governor has a very strategic role in developing entrepreneurship in DKI Jakarta. Sikap sebelum penyuluhan adalah 42, 93 (SD=2,895) dan sikap setelah penyuluhan 47,02 (SD=2,858),?= - 4,226 dan ? ( ? = 0,05 ) = 0.000. Sedangkan kegiatan latihan olah raga sebelum penyuluhan adalah 8,24 (SD=0,435 ) dan kegiatan olah raga setelahpenyuluhan 12, 66 (SD=2,689, ? = - 10,647 dan ?(? = 0,05) = 0,000. Abstract

Indonesia became the second largest contributor of plastic waste in 2019 with 62% of it came from online shopping in e-commerce. The real anxiety is felt by the community so that it was necessary to implement a solution as an action to minimize the environmental impact of plastic waste, one of a way is by design thinking process. The first three stages of design thinking, namely empathize, define, and ideate became the crucial stages for fixationing an idea before they were tested. Through a descriptive analysis process from the results of interviews with 30 interviewees in depth, it was found that at the empathize stage, the ideas were explored using an empathy map. At the define stage, it was found that in the community there was still a lot of plastic waste with the type of plastic waste in the form of food, beverage or packaged plastic waste. Lastly, at the ideate stage, eco-boba was a solution resulting from design thinking in an effort to reduce plastic waste by using and processing plastic back into other products, namely pillow dolls filled with single-use plastic, both from flexible and rigid monomaterials.

Abstract

To determine the readiness of the company in applying the design thinking process, a measurement is needed. Thus, the company's leadership does not encounter problems in applying design thinking. The research method is based on the framework from Dunne, Eriksson and, Kietzmann on the analysis of company readiness in applying design thinking (DT). The readiness aspect is divided into eight dimensions, namely: goals, collaboration, work style, thought processes, knowledge generation, constraints, failures, and workflow. These eight dimensions are measures in the design thinking readiness matrix which are divided into four quadrants, namely: not ready for DT, ready to encourage DT, ready to fight DT's frustrations, ready to adopt DT. The research was conducted at PT. XYZ to assess readiness to apply DT. The results of this study indicate that PT. XYZ is moving towards the readiness stage to encourage DT. Therefore the leadership of PT. XYZ needs to strengthen the perceptions of managers and employees about design thinking in the company.
