Abstract

The increase in freight movement in Pekanbaru is not followed by the development of good freight transport facility, causing traffic creasing caused by mixtraffic, thus degrading the performance of road segments in Pekanbaru City. It demands the need for the preparation of more effective and efficient freight transport facilities. In an effort to improve the performance of the road segment, several handling scenarios are implemented by cross network arrangement and capacity building of road segments crossed by freight transport. To know the performance of the road segment, the burden of each handling scenario, including in plan year 2030. Based on the result of the loading analysis, it is found that the scenario of ring road construction and road network of freight transport shows the improvement of road performance, where the speed in the base year 33.43 km / hour increases to 40.02 km / h in 2025 and becomes 39.41 km / hr.

Abstract

This study assesses the financial feasibility of a privately financed infrastructure project under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme with a total investment of USD 76 million. The investment is distributed over a three-year construction phase, followed by a 30- to 60-year operation period generating annual net profits of USD 8.64 million. Key financial metrics including Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) are utilized to evaluate the project. The results indicate a negative NPV of approximately USD -14.85 million for a 30-year operation, suggesting the project is not viable under a conservative time horizon. However, extending the operation to 60 years yields a positive NPV of USD +23.8 million and an estimated IRR of 11.7%, surpassing the assumed discount rate of 10%. These findings highlight the importance of operational duration in BOT projects and suggest that long-term operation is essential to achieve financial sustainability. Recommendations include extending the concession period and optimizing cost structures to enhance investment attractiveness.

Abstract

The toll road of Padang - Sicincin uses earth embankments in the construction process. In earth filling work, there is a target that must be met, namely that it must be able to spread and compact the soil by 1,474,809 m3/day, where this volume is the plan to meet the target that has been set. The problem that is currently occurring is that the land for the toll road entrance at STA 13+300 – 13+900 on Jalan Nagari Lubuk Alung has just been acquired in 2022. From the results of a field inspection that took approximately a week, there was a delay in terms of landfill work. in the field. Therefore, it is necessary to research to find out the causes of delays. The focus of this research is to determine the productivity of heavy equipment to determine solutions to catch up with work delays that are occurring. After conducting a review in the field, the results obtained from each heavy equipment were 1,471,150 m3/day (excavator), 1,464,610 m3/day (dump truck), 3,086,070 (bulldozer), and 4,150,272 m3/day. (vibro roller). From the results obtained, the excavators and dump trucks in the field were unable to meet the planned targets. Therefore, the handling efforts carried out are by increasing the number of excavators and dump trucks working in the field. Based on the results of calculations and analysis, to complete the embankment work on time, increase the number of tools by two units for excavators and three units for dump trucks. With this additional simulation, the time required to complete work in the field is 13 days faster than the planned time that had been made.
